The curse of cheap e-books

I don’t know about you but I recently took a closer look at my two (yes, I have two! ;-P) e-readers and realized that there are way too many books I still haven’t read. Every time I log in on goodreads I read amazing reviews and my TBR pile as well as the volume of my e-readers (still plural, mind you. *lol*) increases exponentially. If they wouldn’t be a technical device I’d suspect them to be capable of doing mitosis, since I know better than that I’m afraid that I’ve to attribute it to the greedy book monster inside of me. ;-P  And boy is that creature voracious! *lol*

Well, anyway! I saw that some people write the names of the books they want to read on little paper snippets and then pull them out of a bowl. So I thought that might be a good idea for my e-books, because otherwise I’ll probably never manage to read them all.

No sooner said than done, I decided to make such a bowl for myself but since I don’t have any spare bowls (I use them all to cook , duh! XD) I had to be a little creative. When it comes to sweets I’m more the muffin, cupcake and cake kind of type so there’s actually an empty cookie jar I didn’t use for quite a while and I guess by now you all know where this is heading. ;-P

Say “hi” to my amazing bookish cookies and my „Bookie Jar“:

They may not be as tasty as real cookies but I’m sure the books within that cookie jar will be awesome! =))

What about you? How do you plan your future reading adventures? Do you use an annual list? A book bowl? Do you have a monthly TBR?

Tell me! I’m curious! ;-P

  1. This is actually a really good idea and well, I simply just read pick up a book depending on what genre-mood I’m in XD I don’t really have many ebooks though I used to have a Kindle which I kinda miss!

      1. I think my mum bought it for me when I was 13 or 14 and well, it just randomly stopped working one day which kinda sucked at the time haha. And totally, the whole picking out a book out of a jar makes the reading experience even more exciting than it already is ;)♥️

  2. This is a great idea. I’ve started putting credit on my Amazon account and since then my Kindle TBR has grown and ontop of that I keep requesting arcs off Netgalley. I’m just digging myself into a deeper hole I’ll never escape.
    Good luck!

  3. I’m such a mood reader and that makes it so that I don’t have a real way for picking my next read. I just finish a book and see what else strikes my fansie and pick that up. Till now it has never failed me, except for the fact that I read very little of the books that I have in my tbr 😅 but, hey!, at least I’m always reding something and most of the time I enjoy them.

This jar idea is actually really good! I may try it next year and see how it works for me, since it’s pretty random I think it will do a wonderful job and I may even get to read some books from my tbr!

    1. I really feel you! I’m a mood reader too and whilst it is undeniable that I always seem to chose books I like this still doesn’t diminish my tbr pile because those books are never on it. *lol* Especially not my e-books. XD

If you try it next year let me know if it worked! 🙂 I hope you’ll have a lot of fun with it.
