SASSY Saturday

SASSY Saturday

Hey there my lovelies!

Welcome back to another round of my montly blog meme „SASSY Saturday“!

How does it work? Well, that’s easy! 😉

All you have to do is to follow those three golden rules:

1. Credit the creator of this tag (The Sassy Library Fox) and link back. (so I can see all your amazing answers!)
2. Answer the 5 questions below!
3. AND enjoy doing the blog meme! 😛

„SASSY Saturday“ is planned to be a monthly meme but if you want to do it more often feel free to go for it! This meme was created to get to know other bloggers, their new obsessions and to reflect on your own last month! Above all it was created to have fun though! 😉 If you want you can also use the banner I created! This said let’s head to the good part:

S – Series you loved this month

I watched a lot of seriers at the beginning of the month because I had holidays, was ill and couldn’t do anything except of watching TV. Guess it also helped that all of them were pretty short ones. XD

Wednesday: Now this series was quite the surprise! I didn’t expect the dark academia and mystery vibe it had going and I absolutely loved that Wednesday went to a school full of vampires, werewolves, etc. Plus, can we talk about the amazing soundtrack? It added so much to the atmosphere of the show and I was such a happy camper. I’ve to admit that I guessed the culprit, though. My inner Sherlock had a field day with this series and I can’t wait to watch season two. ❤

Emily in Paris – Season 3: I’ve watched up until season 2 and decided I might as well finally catch up on „Emily in Paris“ and even though I enjoyed it, it didn’t quite hit the mark as much as the first two seasons. Emily’s life is still one hell of a confusing mess and this time around her friends lives weren’t any better. I mean I really enjoyed the series but boy, WHAT WAS THAT ENDING?! I have thoughts, guys! Thoughts! And if anyone of you watched it please talk to me! XD

The Witcher: Another series I finally decided to continue. I loved the first season and this one was at least as good as the first one. ❤ Henry Cavill is the perfect Witcher and this series works so well with him. I’m very curious what the next season will hold and how everything is going to continue.

A – Author you discovered

Adib Khorram – „Darius the Great Is Not Okay“

I read a lot of already known to me authors in January so the only new author turned out to be Adib Khorram! I totally enjoyed to read „Darius the Great“ though! It was a really interesting book with a lot of info about Iran and Persian culture and I really liked how the author managed to include all this info into his book. It was very effortlessly and just went along with the plot. I’m definitely planning to read another book of Adib Khorram soon. =)

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

Jimin feat. Taeyang – VIBE

Leave it to BTS to provide us with a constant stream of music even though they are technically taking a break right now. *lol* But yeah, all the members have some solo projects going on that should last us until they return from their military service and I’m not mad about it. XD Quite the contrary! I love to see all the different sides of my boys and I’m enjoying eveything they throw our way. 😀

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

That despite everything and all the illness going on a the beginning of the month I actually managed to read a lot! And that one of my favourite libraries has a focus on LGBTQIA+ books now! I’m so happy about this because as you know I read a lot in this genre and to see completely new releases making their way into library shelves isn’t just very satisfying but also makes me immensely happy because I can actually borrow and read them! Before that I always had to buy them because I knew my library wouldn’t have them but now I can save a lot of money and space. ❤

Y – Your fave blog post of another blogger

SCIENCE IN FICTION: MAKING LEARNING FUN THROUGH READING (PLUS, RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ALL AGES!) by Sammie @ The Bookwyrm’s Den

Sammie always talks about very interesting topics and this was no exception to the rule! I loved to read her take on science in fiction and I absolutely agree that we can learn a lot when themes like this are tackled in books. And I have to say it here: I actually like algebra but I can totally see how it’s not for everyone. *lol* If you don’t know Sammie’s blog yet, please take a look at it! It’s amazing! 😉

What do you think about „SASSY Saturday“? Would you like to join the fun? Who is an author you discovered last month and what surprised you in October? Which kind of series did you watch and were they good? Did you read a lot of spooky books? Any recommendations for me?

Talk to me and let me know! 😉

And as always, stay healthy and safe!

Achievements of 2022 & My bookish New Year’s resolutions for 2023

Hey there, my lovelies!

It’s become a tradition on this blog by now so of course I’m going for another „Achievements of 2022/ My Bookish New Year’s resolutions for 2023“ blog post. Since we’re only a couple of hours away from the next year I thought it would be good to take a closer look at my achievements of 2022. It’s always nice to look at what I wanted to achieve at the beginning of the year and what I actually achieved during it. I’m pretty certain most of my goals for 2022 weren’t met because the first 6 months of 2022 weren’t any better than the last 6 months of 2021. >_< I was in a big reading slump because I was unhappy at work and it showed in the way I lived my first 6 months of 2022. I barely even read any books and all the joy I used to have was drained from me. Of course my bad work situation ultimately led to me withdrawing from everything and everyone and I had absolutely no desire to read. Which is always a bad sign if you’re a passionate reader like me. So yeah, I decided I needed to change something or I’d be stuck in this kind of limbo for the next couple of months or even years. And nope, not with me. *lol*

I never addressed it here directly before (because I wasn’t ready), but I basically told my boss that I’d either quit or go and take a year long educational sabbatical and that there were only those two options. Period. I’d come to a point where I just couldn’t take the work environment anymore because it started to be toxic for me and at this final point I had to cut my losses before my physical and especially my mental health would suffer from it. It wasn’t easy to leave a company I worked for more than 10 years. And most of those years were good years and a time I wouldn’t want to miss, but there’s only so much good that can outweight the bad and I suddenly found myself at a crossroads I never thought I’d ever come to. So in the end I made my decision and took the leap and I regret absolutely nothing. I have no idea what kind of job I’ll have next year and if I’ll even be able to find a new one before my educational sabbatical is over, but I know that it was the right decision and I stand by it.

All told the first half of 2022 was horrible and pretty much me trying to find my way, which took a lot of energy and effort. During the summer I tried to recuperate from the stress of those last couple of months and since I was a loyal and good employee I worked until the last day and tried to hand over my work as good as possible. I think I might have gotten even more gray hairs than last year but I learned a lot about myself and my limits so despite everything I count that as a win. Last year in this post I wrote that I want to be happy again and that I’m determined to make some changes. Well, I guess I did go through with that! *lol* I said that I deserve to be happy and I finally am! And in the end that’s all that counts, right?

This said maybe I managed to go through with some of my other goals as well? I guess the only way to find out is by comparing notes! Clean slate for the next year, here I come! Let’s celebrate some achievements! Hopefully. Haha!

So without further ado let’s go right to the awesome achievements and the good things that happened to me in 2022:

–  I recently celebrated my fourth year of blogging and I’m so glad I decided to go for this blog because it still brings me a lot of joy ! ❤ I can be creative on here and I can be myself and this is very important. =) To have a space to call my own is amazing and I really want to be more active once again. I promised to do better in 2022 and not to stumble from one blog post to the next, but due to all the things that happened I didn’t really manage to keep that promise! I’ll definitely try to be more consistent in 2023, though. XD

– In 2022 I wanted to continue to write two blog posts a week and I had the goal to be more active in the blogging community. Well, the first one so didn’t happen. *lol* There were weeks I only managed to get up one blog post and I was pretty inconsistent. I’m gonna be honest here, it was a struggle to maintain a schedule and I had no brain capacity to make it work. I think I did pretty okay with the second goal, though. I mean I was slightly more active in the blogging community than I was in 2021 and I tried to read other blog posts and to leave comments or likes. =) In 2023 I definitely want to get back to my usual schedule of 2 blog posts a week.

– One of my main life goals for 2022 was to eat more healthy and to take better care of myself. And considering I quit my job and went for an educational sabbatical I definitely ticked off the latter one. *lol* As for the eating more healthy. I did and I am still trying my best to eat more healthy. At the beginning of the year I discovered that I have an intolerance to gluten and totally changed my eating habits. It’s not that I can’t eat gluten at all, it’s more like that I can’t eat it in high doses. If that makes sense?! So my goal for 2023 is to keep to a balanced diet and to eat fish and salad at least once a week. (as a main course I mean. I love my salad and eat it as a side-dish too. 😉 )

– I read 51 books in 2022 and was able to finish my goodreads challenge. I initially set it on 45 books and despite my horrible reading slump I still managed to exceed it. ❤ Eight books ahaed of my challenge might not seem to be a lot but I count this as a big achievement, because for me it is! For 2023 I will set my official goal for 45 books again, but inofficially I want to read way more than that. XD Let’s see how that will go.

– I went for the third round of my own tag – The LGBTQ+ Rep Book Tag (Original!) and this time around I even did it on my BookTube and linked the video in my blog post. I tagged a lot of people in June for this but so far none of them did the tag so yeah. I guess that’s what you call a flop, but oh well, my tag is even making its rounds on IG now so I’m fine with that. Maybe BookTube just wasn’t the right platform for it. *shrugs* I also did my SASSY Saturday blog meme each and every single month! I really love to do this one because it’s so nice to talk about other things than books every once in a while! It’s always good to talk about things that excite you. 😉

– I continued to write even though my rp-game was pretty bad this year. I still managed to write a couple of posts and I genuinely hope that I’ll have more time for it in 2023 again. As for my poetry and reviews… It could have been a lot better but I’m okay with the little I wrote. To be honest I was in no good headspace most of the year and it took me months to get over the anger and resentment I felt towards my former company. The outrageous injustice I went through was hard to digest and it gnawed at me. So I wasn’t as creative as I wanted to be but I really hope 2023 will make it all better. *fingers crossed*

– I think this is worth mentioning and actually an achievement: I might not have requested a lot of ARCS on NetGalley last year, but I actually got approved for every one I requested?! One is still pending, but hopefully that one will get approved too. XD My goal for next year is to read all the review copies I got from authors over the years and to finally catch up to them AND to request ARCs  more actively on NetGalley. I’ve been horrible at reading the review copies I got from authors because I was in a reading slump and didn’t feel like reading most of the times. And when I read I read books I really wanted to read because it was the only way to keep on reading. >_< So yep, 2023 I’ll try to catch up to all those ARCs and review copies. Wish me luck!

– I continued my BookTube Channel and Instagram journey! (@thesassylibraryfox3) 😉 And it’s still going great?! =)) Okay, well I think I might be shadow banned at YT right now because no one ever sees my new videos (even the people that are subscribed to me) but I hope that whatever the algorithm has against me will fade one day?! I still have a lot of fun creating my own video content and I kinda love editing, but it would be nice if someone would actually be able to see those videos?! *lol* (Also don’t ask me what I would have gotten shadow banned for because I honestly didn’t do anything.) As for Instagram: This one has been fun! I made a lot of new friends and posted my photography, Bookstagram pictures and even started to post BTS fanart in June I think! Honestly, I love how my IG grid looks like and I regret absolutely nothing! ❤

– I reached the awesome number of 520 followers on my blog and I couldn’t be more happy! I’m so thankful for all your support and for everyone who still bothers to read my blog posts. You have no idea how much this means to me! ❤ Also, hello and welcome to everyone who clicked that follow button! I’m glad you became part of my „kits“ and I promise I’ll try my best to keep it interesting. 😉

My bookish New Year’s resolutions for 2022 vs. what actually happened and what is hopefully going to happen in 2023:

– Don’t read more than 5 books at the same time! (Well, I think this year I didn’t do all too bad with this. I mean most of the time it were about 5-6 and very rarely when I read a manga and put it on the list too it were 7. But considering it all I did pretty well. Guess I learned my lesson from last year and actually managed to keep it down.)

– Don’t add more than 290 books to my TBR pile. (I only have 285 books on my TBR pile on goodreads right now! And I have no idea how I did that? *lol* Magic! It must be magic because I never managed to reach that goal before. Ever. XD WTH?! Wow, I succeeded at something! And no one is more surprised about this than I am. Haha! Next year I’ll try to go for 280? Will I be able to do that? Only the stars can tell… )

– Read the books I already own!! (I wasn’t doing so bad with this one and actually read a couple of books from my shelves. Unfortunately I discovered the little free libraries around my area and got rid of a lot of books I already read. But what can I say? I discovered that there were even a couple of amazing English books and that discovery somehow added a couple more books to my shelves once again. As for my e-reader: Let’s not talk about my e-reader copies, okay?! ;-P )

– Don’t borrow more than 15 books at the same time from my library! Hahahahahaha! OMG! I still see my bestie bent over from laughing too hard when we went to the library in summer! I really wanted to keep to that system but since I was ill A LOT in 2022 I kinda went for „binge raids“ in some of the libraries, because I knew I wouldn’t get there for months. 😉 So one of those binge raids ended up with me wanting to add 5 books to my library card… and it only took 2 and told me to go to the desk. Turns out I had already reached the limit of 25 books. *LOL* And you know what the precious librarian did when I looked at him totally puzzled and crestfallen? He added the other three to my card and made an exception for me! ❤ So in the end I even blew my card limit and actually had 28 books on there for a little while. I swear, my bestie is still laughing about that incident. XD

– Stick to My Book List 2022My Book List 2021 and finish My Book List 2020 & My Book List 2019! At the risk of repeating myself once again: This wasn’t happening. At all! >_< Quote from me last year: „Still, I know 2022 is going to be the year in which I finally finish my 2019 list! I know I can do it! I got this! I repeat, I got this! *lol* (Or I’m just delul. Haha!)“ Turns out I was delul af! Haha! I honestly dunno how many books I ticked off of my lists, but I know I read a couple of books from them so I count that as a win. I definitely need to update them soon. Oh and you probably already guessed the goal for 2023: Stick to My Book List 2023. ;P

– I voved improvement and said I would continue with my „Hugs’n’kisses OR Dismissed by the Missus/Messrs blog meme but that didn’t really happen. I think I only did it twice? Why am I like that? T_T *lol* In my defence I was super consistent with my SASSY Saturday though! I did one every month and it was fun to talk about other things than books as well. So for 2023 I’ll definitely keep it and will try to throw in a couple of „Hugs’n’Kisses“ posts too. Wish me luck! I’ll need it. Haha!

– I said I’d try to create more of my own book tags and …. I didn’t. *lol* I went for volume three of my The LGBTQ+ Rep Book Tag (Original!) though and discovered that I read more and more LGBTQIA+ books every year. I wanted to get up my Original BTS Book Tag but that still didn’t happen, plus I have a concrete idea for another tag that also didn’t happen. 2023 is going to be the year I’ll finally go for them though! It will happen! Yes. XD

– Get 500 followers on my blog! I currently have 523 followers so I guess I reached that goal. My blog didn’t grow as much as I hoped it would though, but honestly it’s my own fault. I didn’t engage as much as I wanted to with other bloggers and therefore barely made any new friends on here while I lost some of my old ones at the same time. A lot of the people I loved to follow aren’t active on here anymore or they deleted their account and don’t even have a blog anymore. It always makes me sad when that happens but I know it’s not easy to maintain a blog and a schedule. So I understand. Me struggling through 2022 should have made that perfectly clear. *lol* I guess for 2023 my goal will be more realistic and I hope I’ll make it to 550 followers. For me personally, every single one of you is already so much more than I hoped for! ❤ You guys are amazing and I can’t emphasize enough how much it means to me that you’re still around! THANK YOU!!

– Reorganize my physical bookshelves. I did that! YESH! Finally something I did! Haha! Something tells me I might have to reorganize them in 2023 as well. Yearly tradition? Yep, I guess so. *lol*  There are a couple of books I want to get rid of and others I want to add, plus I actually rearranged my shelves the way I wanted to and made book stacks and it looks cool that way and saved a lot of space. Let’s see how I’ll change my shelves in 2023. I’m already curious. 😉

– Both my IG as well as my BookTube have been growing, even though I get the feeling that my growth stopped recently. I’ve been stuck on 334 subscribers on BookTube for two months now and my IG isn’t growing as much as I want it to grow either. I think I got shadow banned on both platforms and I dunno why. I did nothing wrong, got no warnings or anything, but for some reason the algorithm is against me. It’s kinda frustrating. Not gonna lie, it takes a lot of time to make posts and to record and edit videos and if the algorithm is against you, you can’t do anything. (I tried all the tips they give you to fight the algorithm, but it doesn’t work.) So I guess my goal for 2023 on both platforms is to get my subscriber count on BookTube to 400 (I’ll be good if I manage that fighting the algorithm. *lol*) and to 300 followers on IG. No idea, if I’ll be able to manage this but I guess next year we’ll know. And just for the record: I am extremely thankful for all the 334 subscribers and IG followers I currently have!!! They are still there watching my videos, liking and commenting on them and I couldn’t ask for more than that! ❤

– Relocate some of my longer reviews from goodreads to my blog. I did that and it’s something I can tick off with a good conscience. 😀 I’ll continue to do that in 2023 and hopefully one day I’ll have all the important reviews transferred to here.

– I said I want to host a Readalong on my BookTube and I did!!! I hosted my #Klunealong and it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it immensely! Plus I also went for #Rainboween and read lots of LGBTQIA+ books in October. My goal for 2023 is to host another readalong and to go for #Rainboween Vol. 2 because I had so much fun doing both of them and I really want to do it again. No idea what the Readalong will be about but I’ll come up with something. 😉

So if you read all this you get a medal from me! ;-P I know this was super long so I’m very thankful if you actually read this post until now! 2022 felt like both, a very long and a pretty fast year. At least for me it did. It’s kinda weird but it is the way it is. *lol* How was your 2022? Did you follow your TBR or did you become a mood reader? Which goals did you set yourself and were you able to accomplish them? What got you through this year? (My formular to get through 2022 consisted once again of watching k-dramas on Netflix, listening to and watching BTS dance, lots of Netflix & Chill ice cream when I had an especially bad day *lol*, reading and dancing my heart out whenever I could and of talking with my besties for hours.) What did you do in 2022 to ease your mind and what are your goals for 2023?!

Talk to me and let me know!

And as always try to stay healthy and safe!

S – Series you loved this month

In the Soop – Friendcation: Since this were only four episodes I decided to use my Disney+ abo to watch it. And I had a lot of fun! Those five friends are amazing and to watch them hang out felt like being a part of their group. Honestly, I would have done the same things with my own friends so this was extremely wholesome to watch. ❤ Plus they are very funny so I had a great time. =)

Sandman: I decided to watch one episode of this to see if it’s for me and then watched the rest too. So yep, this series was for me. It was weird and creepy at times but also damn good. I really hope there will be a season two because I’m very curious how it will continue. I’m afraid it won’t get any easier for the Sandman though. And because I have to mention it: Tom Sturridge played really well! Loved the way he acted and his voice fit the Sandman so perfectly.

Brandon Sanderson – The Final Empire

Believe it or not, but I actually just discovered Brandon Sanderson. I had this book on my „currently reading“ for the longest time. Like since January 2022 I think but I was never in the right mood to pick it up until I felt like reading epic fantasy again and then read it in a couple of days. *lol* So, yes I enjoyed this a lot and I’ll continue to read the series. I’m ready to find out what’s going to happen in book 2.

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

Jung Kook – Dreamers

I might not agree with the location of the FIFA worldcup this year but I absolutely love that JK got the chance to sing the song! XD „Dreamers“ is such a beautiful song and his voice is heavenly and whenever I think about young teen JK that said: „Mom, I’m on TV“ I start to cry because.. ahhhh he’s come so far and I’m so damn proud of him and all the other BTS boys. I can’t!!! They are just too amazing! ❤

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

That the Giveaway I sent away at the beginning of October finally arrived!! Honestly I was so worried the package might have gotten lost on the way there, but last week it finally arrived and I was so damn happy! You have no idea! *lol* It would have sucked so much if it would have never arrived. Puh! I’m so relieved! I swear, the ways of the mail are mysterious! XD

S – Series you loved this month

Itaewon Class: You probably already guessed it: This was a buddy watch with the Yoongi to my V! *lol* We really had a… well, I can’t say good time with this k-drama, because the injustice was just too much and excruciating for me to watch but we were definitely hooked and wanted to know if Saeroyi (the MC) would succeed. I really loved Saeroyi and his friends but I gotta be honest here: I disliked both of the love interests. They were both kind of toxic in their own way and neither Sabrina nor I wanted him to end up with them. XD So uff… This kind of dampened the enjoyment of the series for me but the intrigues and plot twists certainly kept me on my feet. I can see why this series won so many prizes but the romance just didn’t work for me.

Highschool Musical The Musical The Series: I still got Disney+ until December so I decided to go for another series on there and ultimately went for HMTMTS. I really enjoyed the first season and liked season two even though it was pretty awkward. But season three? Well, it was all over the place, especially the weird ending. I once again had troubles with the romance and it felt kinda forced to me. Apparently there will be a season 4 so I hope they’ll resolve that ending of season 3.

A – Author you discovered

Karla Nikole – „Lore & Lust“

I never heard of Karla Nikole until one of the Bookstagramers I’m following mentioned this book and spoke about how amazing it is. And he wasn’t wrong! I really enjoyed Lore & Lust“and it was such a nice slow burn. Haru and Nino were both amazing characters and to read about how they became friends and eventually fell in love was so wholesome and sweet. =) To top it all off this is even a vampire romance and I used it as one of the books for my #Rainboween Bingo Board. XD I honestly can’t wait to dive into the next book of the series. ❤

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

Jin – The Astronaut

Lots of ARMYs thought that we wouldn’t hear a lot about our boys once they decided to go on a break, but honestly, they were so wrong! I mean every month one of the members throws out a new song or other content and I’m LIVING for it! At the end of October Jin gave us „The Astronaut“ and this collabo with Coldplay is everything! I love this song so much and I could listen to it for days. Plus can we acknowledge Jin’s beautiful voice! My heart melts whenever he sings : „And I love you!!“ So amazing!

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

That so many people took part in my #Rainboween Readathon! I was really surprised that even some of the bigger channels decided to go for the Bingo Board and that made me very happy. 😀 Because of that I read more in October than I read any other month of this year and I didn’t just have a blast but also was able to finish two rows on the bingo board. XD Win-win! Also I’m definitely going to host #Rainboween next year too because a lot of people enjoyed taking part and there are still so many great spooky LGBTQIA+ books I didn’t manage to read. If you don’t know any, don’t worry! I got you covered for the next 10 years. Haha! ;-P

10 Sex Positive YA Books That Explore Sex (Awkwardly) Right by Nyx @ Drizzle & Hurricane Books

I think this is a topic not a lot of bloggers address when they talk about books. I mean, I speak about it on my BookTube channel and on here too, but I rarely see it mentioned on other blogs or channels so this post was amazing! There are so many YA books that have a huge focus on first love and sex but often times it’s not done properly and I loved that Nyx made a list of books that did it right! So thank you for that lovely and important post! 😀

Locke & Key: I finally finished watching „Locke & Key“ on Netflix and I really enjoyed the series! I mean it were 3 seasons and there was never a dull moment. Not many series manage to pull that off. Also all the different keys and what they could do. So intriguing. I think I might try to find the comics this tv series was based on and actually read them because I think season 3 was the last one and I don’t want to part with this world just yet. XD

Love, Victor: Yes, this person here finally caved and bought a Disney+ gift card for three months. So I have Disney+ until December and I’m currently binging the hell out of that limited abo. I watched all three seasons of „Love, Victor“ whenever I could and since the episodes are fairly short (30 – 35 minutes and 28 episodes) it was pretty easy to get through this wheneve I needed a break from studying. *lol* It was such a cute series and I really loved that there was even a cameo of Simon and Bram. XD As for the other LGBTQIA+ reps. Well, I think they would have needed some work, but oh well. Has anyone of you seen the series and agrees with me? xD (Also I watched „Permission to Dance“ twice already. Love to see my boys on TV ❤ )

A – Author you discovered

55507414. sy475

Tracy Deonn – Legendborn

I think Tracy Deonn was actually the only new to me author I read in September but I’m really glad I discovered her through „Legendborn“! This book was everything I hoped it would be and even more! Also I really like Nick but Selwyn Kane owns my heart, body and soul! ❤ *lol* I loved how Tracy Deonn managed to combine so many different topics in her book and tackled them with so much care. I mean the bandwith is insane! We have racism, LGBTQIA+ reps and topics, an amazing grief rep, magic and even demons and that all nicely wrapped in an Arthurian retelling tale. I can highly recommend reading this book!

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

Crush feat. J-Hope – Rush Hour

Those two legends just threw out this song and it’s so much fun and amazing! I love to listen to it and it’s such a cool song to vibe to. Also the videos about their collabo were so nice and wholesome. They really respect each other and it shows. Love those two. ❤

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

How many people actually took part in my Giveaway! I was pretty overwhelmed for the first couple of days because the entries just came rushing in and there seemed to be no stop to it. *lol* I did it on all my social media but the biggest bulk of entries definitely came from IG. So if you want to do a Giveaway I can really recommend to go for it on there. XD Well, I guess it helped that it was international and apparently not a lot of people do this. I was totally unprepared for all those participants and this definitely caught me off guard. In a good way of course. 😉

My 4th Bloggiversary! – Wow, how time flies by!

Hey there, my lovelies!!

Can you believe it’s been 4 years I started this blog? Well, I can’t! It’s been quite a couple of crazy years and I’m really glad I started my own blog in 2018! Blogging taught me a lot of things which is great because now I can use some of my knowledge for my BookTube channel as well. *lol* I never thought I’d get this much into social media but apparently I did and I have no regrets. XD

This said: It’s not easy to provide you with good content and I’m really trying my best to give you solid and good posts! Some of you might have realized that I skipped a couple of days on which I was supposed to post (I usually post on Wednesdays and Saturdays) but my life has been pretty busy lately and sometimes it’s tough to get up a post in time. So before I give you something half-assed, I don’t give you anything at all. Does that make sense? *lol* Also I apologize for 2 posts going up only halfway done because I forgot to reschedule them. >_< I use the schedule function … A LOT! So sometimes when I’m ill or too stressed I forget to reschedule and then it happens that a post goes up that isn’t even ready yet. I’m really sorry about that but uff life just doesn’t care about me being punctual with my posts. How dare you life?! *lol*

This said I really want to thank everyone who’s been following my blog journey! Without you guys I wouldn’t have even dared to start my own BookTube let alone my Instagram! ❤ Your support throughout the years means the world and I’m always thankful for every new follower on here! I see you and I thank you for reading my blog posts and sometimes even liking them. ;-P

I’m feeling a little bit under the weather today so I think I’ll wrap it up here. I wanted to write some more but since I’m typing this on my actual blog anniversary this short post will have to do. I just wanted to let you know that you are appreciated and that I thank you for all your support! XD

Last year I asked you about your assumptions about me, but this year I’ll just refer to my „Giveaway!“ Which is still ongoing btw! 😉 You can still throw your name into my bowl and have the chance to win either „Caraval“ or „Sorcery of Thorns“! So please consider taking part in it! After all I’m doing this to thank you guys! ❤

So what about you? Do you enjoy my content? Do you use the schedule function as well? How long have you been on WordPress? Longer or shorter than me? XD What kind of content would you like to see more of? Talk to me and let me know!

And as always: Take care! And stay healthy and safe!

S – Series you loved this month

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo: My Yoongi and I finally managed to finish the series! *lol* I kinda got distracted by another series in the middle and it took me a while to pick up that one again. XD Once I did I was totally ready to find out how it would end though. =) I swear Jun-hyung is the perfect bf and I really loved him so much! Bok-joo was so lucky to have him and their love story was very adorable. XD If you don’t mind teen antics you should definitely go for that one. 😉

Lucifer – Season 4: I finally borrowed season 4 from my library and I went through it so fast you have no idea! It wasn’t the best „Lucifer“ season but it was entertaining enough and after THAT ending I really want to know what happens in season 5 and 6. Hopefully my library will get them soon.

Anthony Doerr – All the Light We Cannot See

I’ve never read a book by Anthony Doerr but I really liked this one. I didn’t cry though. Apparently I’ve grown a cold-cold heart! *lol* Joking aside I think it’s just the kind of writing style that caused me to feel a little bit disconnected to the characters. If that makes sense? It was more like I was watching a movie and following the characters instead of being right smack into the action. XD Still, it was a great book with a message and I can recommend it. =)

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

Benny Blanco, BTS & Snoop Dog – Bad Decisions

This song is so nice and another catchy tune! I swear when BTS goes for pop they do it thoroughly! XD I could listen to this all day long and I’m so proud of our vocal line boys for working with Snoop Dog! ❤ I can’t wait for the next song to drop. I swear ever since they are on a break we get way more of them than we thought we would. *lol* It’s basically BTS content x 7!

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

That I actually hit 300 subscribers on my YouTube channel! It’s been an up and down for months now and the number was always between 292 and 296. Mas or menos. But one day I suddenly hit the 300 mark and I was like: WOAH! It actually happened! O_o This wasn’t everything that surprised me though: I also hit 500 followers on my blog on here!! Which is the reason why I’ll go for a huge giveaway on all my social media! So stay tuned! 😉 This said I also want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who’s reading this right now! Thank you so much for all the support and love! ❤

„Why Were These Books Banned? Should They Stay Banned?“ @ Hundreds & Thousands of Books

I suck when it comes to this because I’m a horrible, horrible follower. (You’ll get nothing but the truth from me. *lol*) But I recently read a very interesting T10T blog post by Hundreds & Thousands of Books and this one is definitely worth to be featured! I loved to read about the reasons why books get banned sometimes and it wasn’t just informative but also made for a great discussion topic. XD I loved that this was so though-provoking and I want to dig deeper into the topic now as well. So thank you for that! ❤ If you don’t know Hundreds & Thousands of Books blog yet, please take a look! It’s so worth it! =)

S – Series you loved this month

V Wars: Another vampire series with Ian Somerhalder? I was intrigued enough to start watching it. Funnily enough his character in this series is totally different than Damon in „Vampire Diaries“. He’s a husband, father and a scientist and when the world starts to bleed red under the rule of a new vampire species he has troubles to defend himself and his family. I enjoyed this series more than I thought I would so it’s a real bummer there isn’t going to be a season 2. =(

KinnPorsche: OMG!!! Honestly, this series is legit one of the best things IG introduced me to. I saw it mentioned in one of my friends stories and got curious and before I even knew it I went down the rabbit hole and only emerged after 14 episodes, crying my freaking eyes out at the ending! T_T I still have a hangover from this series and I can’t wait to watch season two! Also for everyone who wonders what the series is about: It’s a mafia m/m story where Porsche – a bartender – is forced to work as a bodyguard for Kinn – a mafia boss – because he saved his life one night. Of course the both don’t like each other at the beginning but boy was it so lovely to see them fall in love. Also there are so many amazing m/m side-couples and after episode 9 I think, I shipped two of them even more than I shipped the main couple! SO DAMN GOOD!!! Guys, if you haven’t watched this series you’re missing out! Seriously, the acting was amazing! I’m a fan now!

TJ Klune – The House in the Cerulean Sea

This was my first TJ Klune book and I read it while hosting my first #Klunealong ever! The Klunealong wasn’t only a lot of fun but the book was amazing! One of the most wholesome, sweet and precious books I ever read. I still get all warm and fuzzy feelings whenever I think about it. I loved the kids, I loved Arthur and Linus, I loved Zoe, I just loved everything about this! ❤ I can’t wait to go for Part II of my #Klunealong and to read „The Extraordinaries“. If you want to join, you can still do it! You can watch the video with all the details: here!

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

J-Hope – MORE

And here I thought BTS going solo for a while meant that we wouldn’t get as much content as we’re used to but in fact it only meant: BTS content x 7! *lol* Boy, Hobi knocked it out of the park with his solo album „Jack in the Box“ and I love it so much! „MORE“ was the first single and wow, the lyrics hit hard! I bought the entire album as soon as I could and if you listen to it from the beginning to the end Hoseok is telling a story! This album is a brilliant masterpiece and I’m so damn proud of J-Hope!!! ❤

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

That I got a horrible tonsillitis in the first month of my educational sabbatical. >_< It was no fun and I was knocked out cold for an entire week and it took me 2 additional weeks to recover fully. Like woah! This was extreme. But as for a good surprise: I did my first vlives on my BookTube channel and there were so many amazing BookTubers that supported me and joined the vlives. In the first vlive we were supposed to discuss the first 10 chapters of „The House in the Cerulean Sea“ but almost none of the watchers read the book, they were just there to talk with me. *lol* So sweet! Vlive Discussion No.2 was fun too because we really spoke about the book and it was so nice to hear other people’s opinions. XD So yeah it was a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to my next vlive in August when I’ll discuss „The Extraordinaries“! =)

Hugs’n’Kisses OR Dismissed by the Missus/Messrs

hugs'n'kisses or dismissed by the missus

Hey there, my lovelies!

Holy moly!! The last time I did this was more than a year ago! I can’t believe it took me so long to go for another round of my blog meme, but here I am. *lol*  Funnily enough I still got closer to my TBR goal even though I didn’t do the meme?! Maybe that’s because I read a lot of the books from my TBR? Who knows! Anyway! Let’s blow the dust away and go for another round! ;-P

The rules:

1.) Link back to the original post @ The Sassy Library Fox (I really want to know if it works out for you and I’m curious about your book choices! ;-))

2.) Choose 3 random numbers from 1 to the end of your TBR list. (In my case it are 3 random numbers from 1 – 288, so for instance I’ll pick 33, 172 and 253)

3.) Take a look at the 3 books on your TBR. (33 – Chain of Gold , 172 – An Ember in the Ashes , 253 – The Hunt)

4.)  Then you follow the rhyme:

One to hug and read, (An Ember in the Ashes: Okay, I wanted to read this one for ages and it’s actually on my 2022 or 2021 TBR? So that’s the perfect chance to actually go for it and to finally read the book.)

One to kiss and keep, (Chain of Gold: That’s a no-brainer because I definitely want to read the series. Just not yet. I need to read „Queen of Air and Darkness“ first and then I can continue. So I’ll get to this one, it just takes some time.)

One to dismiss and weep! (The Hunt: An assassin story and it actually sounds pretty good. The rating of 3,98 stars on goodreads doesn’t sound all too persuading, though. Well, for now I’ll dismiss this and weep. It’s been on my TBR since 2020 and I even forgot that it was on there so no good markings in favour of the book. *lol*)

5.) Read the book you hugged and kept within a month and repeat the process as often and as frequently as you like. (I’ll do this once a month and hopefully it will help me to reduce my TBR ;-P)

Rankenzeile

I’m currently at 288 books which is pretty good considering it used to be around 295. I’m still not all too close to my goal of reaching 280 books or so, but I’m getting closer and that’s at least something! =) I think I’m on a good way.
