November, huh? Well, what can I say about November? I was in one of the biggest reading slumps I ever had and it shows in the fact that I only read 5 books, two of them were mangas and one was a very short novella. Like who am I even?! I’ve been asking myself this question very often lately and I think most of that is due to the fact that I’m not happy with my current life situation. Work is always stressful and it takes me too long to get there and back again. We still have mould in our flat and I haven’t been on a holiday since September. (And this one was just 4 days, so yeah…)
At the moment I’m in a constant state of exhaustion and usually I would do the things I love like writing blog posts, (It’s 3 hours before this one gets online and I used to plan ahead for at least 2 weeks…) poetry, listening to music, creating video content for my BookTube, etc. and yes, I’d read. But I’m too tired to even do that. >_< Which is always a bad sign. I need some time to recuperate and I really hope I’ll get it over the Christmas holidays.
I guess I’ll use my days off wisely and will think about what I can do to improve my situation, because quite honestly I’m sick and tired of feeling the way I do and I think 2022 is a good opportunity to change things. I’m sorry you had to read all that now, but it needed to get out. November was no good month and truth be told all the months before weren’t good either and I need to change that. Period. XD So this said let’s head to my actual wrap up!
Books read: 5 (5 books & 0 webcomic, As I already mentioned it were only 5 and most of them were very short so umm… )
Pages read: 1.421 (Not all too much but I’m okay with it.)
Average rating: 4,2 (Did I really rate most of them with 4 paws…Yes, I guess I did.)
Books that were on my reading list: 2 ( 0 from 2019, 0 from 2020 and 2 from 2021. Well the two actual books I read were at least on my TBR. *lol*)
It was really nice to be back in the world of Simon and Blue and to read how their lives continued after the Simonverse books. This short novella was super cute and it gave me all the happy and sweet feelings I craved for after I finished the books. =) It was something light and easy to read in between and perfect for my November.
Felix Ever After:
It’s so rare for me to rate a book 5 paws but „„Felix Ever After“ definitely deserved that rating. It was so good and I loved how it made me think about myself and how I see myself and how others see me. Also it taught me a lot about self-acceptance and I think in some way it also showed me that I need to change some things about my life.
This was already volume 3 and once again I loved it. Alice Oseman has a gift and I adore all the LGBTQAI+ characters in this series. Everyone in „Heartstopper“ is queer af and by now I live and breathe for it. ❤ No matter if it’s the teens or the teachers, they all have their own story and are part of the Heartstopper universe! Also Aled’s guest appearance! Ahhh! Just amazing!
The Guest List:
For a murder mystery this was pretty different and entertaining, which is mostly due to the fact that it wasn’t just a whodunnit but also a whodied. *lol* This gave „The Guest List“ the extra kind of spice I look for in my mysteries and I really enjoyed to solve both of the puzzles. XD Though admittedely the whodied was kinda easy to figure out … at least once you reached a certain point of the story. ;-P
Death Note Volume 2:
It never ceases to amaze me how a normal student like Light can be such a clever killer. Like seriously! He’s definitely giving L. a run for his money in this volume and I can’t wait to find out how this series is going to continue. I’m very curious who of those two will gain the upper hand in the end. This is no cat and mouse game… it’s cat against cat. *lol*
How was your November? Did you read a lot of books and if yes were they all good? What are you up to these days? Is your country in a lockdown too or is Austria the only one? *lol* Did you read some of the books I mentioned? Do you feel like you need to change some things in 2022 as well?
Talk to me and let me know!
And as always take care and stay healthy and safe!
