Hugs’n’kisses OR Dismissed by the Missus/Messrs

Hey there, my lovelies!

The last book I read („Radiance“) was a really nice surprise so I thought I’d go for the next round! 😛 I still feel like I’m not doing this often enough but I’m getting there. Especially because my TBR is growing again and I really, really need to reduce it. *lol* The struggle is real my friends!!! >_<

The rules:

1.) Link back to the original post @ The Sassy Library Fox (I really want to know if it works out for you and I’m curious about your book choices! ;-))

2.) Choose 3 random numbers from 1 to the end of your TBR list. (In my case it are 3 random numbers from 1 – 292, so for instance I’ll pick 29, 105 and 241)

3.) Take a look at the 3 books on your TBR. (29 – Snow Like Ashes, 105 – Gold, 241– Dangerous Girls)

4.)  Then you follow the rhyme:

One to hug and read, (Dangerous Girls: I’ve been curious about this one for quite a while and since my Gansey loved it I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy this too!)

One to kiss and keep, (Snow Like Ashes: I’m not ready to read this young adult fantasy book so I’ll just kiss and keep it. XD)

One to dismiss and weep! (Gold: This paranormal fantasy romance doesn’t sound bad but I’m just not in the right mood to read it right now. Maybe one day it will find its way back on my TBR for now I’ve to say „goodbye“ though. 😉 )

5.) Read the book you hugged and kept within a month and repeat the process as often and as frequently as you like. (I’ll do this once a month and hopefully it will help me to reduce my TBR ;-P)

By now it feels like I’m delusional with my hope to reduce my TBR to 375 books. *lol* But I’ll still try my best! XD After this round it are 392 once again. T_T But I just can’t help it! There are just too many great books hitting the shelves soon and of course they all end up on my TBR. It’s one step forward and two steps back. *lol*

Ha! I’m still not done with the last book I chose when I did my blog meme but considering that it’s „The Poppy War“ I think we can agree that this is okay. I mean this book is HUGE!!! 544 pages isn’t something you read that fast, especially if you’re like me and read 5 books at the same time. *lol*

Anyway! Let’s move on and do this! XD

The rules:

2.) Choose 3 random numbers from 1 to the end of your TBR list. (In my case it are 3 random numbers from 1 – 294, so for instance I’ll pick 59, 167 and 253)

3.) Take a look at the 3 books on your TBR. (59 – Strong Signal, 167 – Scarred, 253 – Essenz der Götter I)

4.)  Then you follow the rhyme:

One to hug and read, (Essenz der Götter I: Okay, it’s been ages I last read a German book but this author is from Lower Austria, writes fantasy books and is still pretty unknown. So in short: I’m curious and new authors need all the support they can get. Especially Austrian ones, because, yeah we’re a little country! *lol* )

One to kiss and keep, (Scarred: This sounds too serious for me right now so I’ll just keep it for another time when I’m more ready to tackle a topic like that!)

One to dismiss and weep! (Strong Signal: This book made it easy to dismiss it. I’d love to read this m/m romance but I can’t get it in my country so yeah, there’s that. 😦 I might as well delete it from my list if I can’t buy it. *sniff*)

5.) Read the book you hugged and kept within a month and repeat the process as often and as frequently as you like. (I’ll do this once a month and hopefully it will help me to reduce my TBR ;-P)

And here comes the moment where I mention that I’m very happy with this blog meme!! When I started with it in January this year there were 303 books on my TBR and I thought I’d never be able to read them all. Almost nine months later my TBR is reduced to 289 books and I feel like I got this!!! *lol* I GOT THIS!!! Yesh! *does a happy dance*

Good afternoon, my lovelies!

The last time I did this, I decided to hug and read „One of Us is Lying“ and even though I didn’t finish it yet, I can already tell that it’ll most likely be a three paws read or even more for me. Well, that is if the ending doesn’t destroy my current enjoyment. *lol* But I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what is going to happen next. XD

This said, I’m going right into my next round of „Hugs’n’Kisses OR Dismissed by the Missus/Messrs“:

3.) Take a look at the 3 books on your TBR. (55 – Hunted, 144 – Break Even, 238 – Wintersong)

4.)  Then you follow the rhyme:

One to hug and read, (Wintersong: This hasn’t only been on my shelf ever since Annie recommended it to me but is also on My Book List 2019 so it’s about time I finally read it! XD)

One to kiss and keep, (Hunted: There’s no way I’m going to miss out on book 6 of „The Iron Druid Chronicles“! I love Atticus and Oberon! ❤ )

One to dismiss and weep! (Break Even: I think this sounds rather intriguing but I’m no huge fan of contemporary romances and „Break Even“ is one of them. *lol* Maybe one day in the far far away future when I stumble upon it again…)

5.) Read the book you hugged and kept within a month and repeat the process as often and as frequently as you like. (I’ll do this once a month and hopefully it will help me to reduce my TBR ;-P)

Sometimes my blog meme or my Bookie Jar actually force me to read the books I put on my reading list and tell you what? I’m thankful for it! *lol*

It really helps me to keep to my reading schedule… well at least a little bit. XD Plus this blog meme works so perfectly for me! I already managed to reduce my TBR so much and I hope it will help others to reduce theirs too! 😀

Another month is over and after finishing „The Lies of Locke Lamora“ recently I’m ready to hug and read the next book.  So here I am going for my third round of my own blog meme “Hugs’n’kisses OR Dismissed by the Missus/Messrs”.

If you want to try my blog meme too, feel free to do so! Just make sure to follow the rules and everything should work out fine! 😉 Well, that is of course, if you don’t cheat on yourself. *lol*

3.) Take a look at the 3 books on your TBR. (50 – One of Us is Lying, 161 – The Harvest of Betrayal, 249 – The Abyss Surrounds Us)

4.)  Then you follow the rhyme:

One to hug and read, (One of Us is Lying: I already have this on my kindle so it’s time to finally read it)

One to kiss and keep, (The Abyss Surrounds Us: Lesbian Pirates?! Did you really think I’d pass on this opportunity? *lol*)

One to dismiss and weep! (The Harvest of Betrayal: This sounds really interesting but I read way too many serious books lately and I doubt I’ll bring myself to read this in near future. I’ll keep it in mind though. Maybe one day I’ll add it to my list again.)

5.) Read the book you hugged and kept within a month and repeat the process as often and as frequently as you like. (I’ll do this once a month and hopefully it will help me to reduce my TBR ;-P)

„One of Us Is Lying“ is one of those books I wanted to read for ages and I’m glad I’m finally giving it a try. So far this blog meme worked out really well for me. When I started there were 303 books on my TBR list and after this third round there’ll only be 297 left. This is amazing and I’m so happy it works!!! ❤

One to kiss and keep, (Provoked. Can’t say no to an m/m book.  XD)

One to dismiss and weep! (Das Herz des Dämons. I remember starting the series but after all the YA and fantasy books I already read, I really don’t have any desire to continue with this series. It’s just too tropey.)

5.) Read the book you hugged and kept within a month and repeat the process as often and as frequently as you like. (I’ll do this once a month and hopefully it will help me to reduce my TBR ;-P)

I wanted to read “The Lies of Locke Lamora” for a while now and I’m really glad I picked that book! I guess so far my meme worked out fine for me. I mean when I started there were 303 books on my list, now it are only 301 and soon enough it will be 299. Which means it’s the first time after a year I will have less than 300 books on my list! YAY!

Hey there my lovelies!

I know many of you have super long TBRs and after more than 1 ½ years on goodreads my own list grew drastically as well. Right now it contains 303 books (how did that even happen? O_o) and I’m pretty sure I won’t even read half of them. *lol*

But what can I say? I’m not only a lazybutt but also a busy one (Go figure!) and because I don’t have that much time I tend to well… procrastinate when it comes to my TBR. XD (Don’t we all?!)

Anyway! That’s not the point of this post! The point of this blog post is that I don’t only want to reduce my TBR but that I also want to do it in a slow and sensible manner. I know there are things like “Down the TBR hole” (did I write that right?!) and a few other cool blog memes but for a tentative reader like me who actually wants to read ALL the books on their TBR shelf they always seemed to be too drastic.

Long story short: I came up with an idea for my own blog post and if you want to try it out too you’re welcome to do so! XD

The rules:

1.) Chose 3 random numbers from 1 to the end of your TBR list. (In my case it would be 3 random numbers from 1 – 303, so for instance I’ll pick 33, 218 and 299)

2.) Take a look at the 3 books on your TBR. (33 – Anna and the French Kiss, 218 – The Mediator , 299 – Defy Me *lol*)

3.)  Then you follow the rhyme:

One to hug and read, (Anna and the French Kiss)

One to kiss and keep, (Defy Me because the book isn’t even out yet and I’m so going to read it!!!    XD)

One to dismiss and weep! (The Mediator, I can’t even remember adding this book to my list. >_<)

4.) Read the book you hugged and kept within a month and repeat the process as often and as frequently as you like. (I’ll do this once a month and hopefully it will help me to reduce my TBR ;-P)
