The „Never Have I Ever“ Book Tag

Hey there, my lovelies!

It’s been a hot minute I last did a tag so I decided to go for one today! XD A huge, huge THANK YOU to Hundreds & Thousands of Books for nominating me for this and thinking of me! (last March… umm yeah *lol*) Anyway! Never mind! Check out their page! It’s amazing and I love all the blog posts! ❤

Rules:

 1. Link back to the original creator: Madame Writer
 2. Link back to the person who tagged you.
 3. Answer all prompts.
 4. Add one more prompt of your own.
 5. Tag at least five people.
 6. Don’t lie!
 7. Have fun.

The Prompts

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Read a later book in a series before the first

2321296
I really try hard not to do that but sometimes the blurbs will be confusing and I’ll pick up a book from my library and only realize later on that it’s actually book two in a series. It happened with the „Wicked Lovely“ series by Melissa Marr. I actually read „Ink Exchange“ the second book in the series before I read „Wicked Lovely“ but I think with this series it wasn’t so bad. At least I didn’t have any troubles to follow the plot. *lol*

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Burned a book
I always joke that if I had to burn a book it would be „Imagine Me“ by Tahereh Mafi, but I honestly never burned a book. It would physically hurt me to give a book to the flames so a definite „no“ here.

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Gone into a shop to buy one book and come out with many more…
Haha! Are you kidding me?! This happened way too often to count! *lol* Nowadays it happens with my library! I recently wanted to borrow new books and for some reason I couldn’t check them out so I went to the counter and the librarian told me that I already borrowed the limit that is allowed. He winked at me and added 3 more books than was allowed to my card. Haha! Seriously, my bestie who stood right next to me when it happened is still laughing about it! *lol*

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Loved a book when I was younger and hated it when I was older
Mhmm no matter how hard I think about it, I really can’t come up with a single book I later on hated. Maybe I didn’t like it so much after rereading it when I was older but I honestly never ended up hating one of them.

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Read a book I knew I’d hate
Well, you see, I always read the books I know I’ll like or at least hope I’ll like and that sound interesting to me. So I don’t hate read books because quite honestly, my time is limited as it is and I see no sense in reading a book I know I’ll hate. I mean every once in a while there will come a book I don’t enjoy anyway, so why torture myself by reading books I know I’ll hate?

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Wrote a fanfiction about my favourite book
Nope. I never wrote fanfiction about my favourite books. I read some but I never felt the need to write one of my own. Also I roleplay and created original characters for my roleplays so I write them and play them and they are all original which works better for me than to write fanfiction. 😉

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Dressed up as my favourite literary characters

706457
I dressed up as a Harry Potter student and as one of the elves of LoTR, but I think that’s it? It’s been a super long time ago though and I think I haven’t dressed up as a bookish character for ages. I admire all those cosplayers that dress up as their faves, though! Some of them are so realistic and look amazing! ❤

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Hated a book by an author I love
Puh, thankfully that never happened to me! I mean I probably didn’t like one of their books as much as the other ones but that’s it. I never flat out hated one of my fave authors books. XD I count myself among the lucky ones. *lol*

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Skim read a book
I don’t skim read books. When I read a book I read every single word in it because even if I dislike it I want to be able to tell people exactly why I disliked it. I think I owe the author to read their book and if I give a bad review to at least know what I’m talking about. So skimming a book is a no-go for me.

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Pretended to read a book when I haven’t
Okay, I don’t even know how people do that?! Like if you pretend to have read a book how do you even discuss it with the other person?! Sooner or later they’ll find out that you haven’t read it so where’s the point? I only talk about books I actually read. Period. 😉

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Read a book without a dust cover

54618808. sy475
Gotta be honest here: I recently read „XOXO“ and it had a dust cover which I took off while I read the book because it always got in the way when I read it. *lol* I have no idea why books even have those but okay?!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Had a book boyfriend/girlfriend
Umm… I feel called out now. Haha! I have both. Bookish boyfriends and girlfriends and I’m not ashamed to admit it. The thing about books is that the love interests in them are way too perfect and everyone just wants to have a bf/gf like them. So yeah, they cater to our needs, hopes, wishes and dreams so it’s no wonder we all have them at some point in our lives and fantasize about a relationship with them. ;-P

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Picked up a book based on the cover alone
I think the way books look always contributes to your interest in them. If it’s a beautiful book cover it causes you to pick the book up and to look what’s on the blurb and what the book is about. In Austria we always say: „Das Auge isst mit.“ which freely translates as „The eye always eats as well.“ So yeah, I bought books because of their cover but not because of the cover alone. It might have caused me to pick it up in the first place but for me the plot always has to be interesting too.

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Read the end of a book before the beginning
I can only repeat the question of my predecessor: WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS? I would never! Where is the fun in knowing the ending before you even read the beginning? Oh, I actually have a mean story to tell here. *lol* When I was a kid I basically grew up with HP and I read the first book when I was 11 and the last one when I was 19. So I finally held the last book in my hands and my sister dear took it and opened the last page, handed it back to me and said: Now I know the ending! And urgh! I’m still sore about that! *lol* She’ll never understand how she could do that. (She never read the series btw.)

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Read a history or anthropology book for fun
History book, yes, definitely. I love history and it’s such a fascinating subject. Anthropology, nope, never. *lol* At least I think I never did? Mhmm.

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Participated in a readathon
My limited time just doesn’t allow to go for a readathon. I think I might have done my own personal readathons when I was younger and had entire days in which I did nothing else but read for 24 hours. XD But now that I’m an adult I just can’t do that. I have way too many things to do and a kid to take care of etc. The year long ones are too intimidating as well. I never know if I could handle them. So what this super long answer comes down to is a: „no“.

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Bought multiple books in a series before starting it

13519397
Oh yes, I’m very gulity of this and so far it always worked out fine. Thankfully! I bought a lot of full series other people raved about and I was always lucky enough to actually end up loving the series. „Throne of Glass“, „The Raven Cycle“, „The Infernal Devices“, „Nevernight“, etc. I could go on and on.

Hundreds & Thousands of Books’s Question

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Filled up an entire bookshelf and had to have stacks of books balanced precariously throughout various rooms
This is such a specific question. *lol* I think I never did this. I only have the books that are in my shelves and 3 library piles that are all on my shelves too. So there are no stacks in other rooms and that’s good the way it is. Haha!

My Question

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Hurt a book (e.g. accidentally spilled ice cream or coffee on it, dog-eared a book, etc.)
Not that I did any of those things. I’m just curious if YOU did! ;-P

I Tag:

And you if you want to do this tag! Consider yourself tagged! =)

Rankenzeile

This was a lot of fun! I almost forgot how much fun it is to do tags like that. *lol* I really should catch up on my backlog. A lot of my tags are autumn or Christmas themed though so I suppose you’ll get some of them when the seasons come. 😉

So what about you? Have you ever picked a book based on the cover or hated a book by an author you love?

Talk to me and let me know!

Get To Know The Fantasy Reader Tag

Hey there, my lovelies! =)

It feels like it’s been ages I last did a tag on my blog so I thought it would be fun to post another one and to try to catch up to all the tags I was tagged for. I finally reached February 2021! *lol* You can say what you want about me being a snail when it comes to doing tags but I’m definitely a persistent one. ;-P This said, I want to thank Hundreds & Thousands of Books for thinking of me and tagging me for this! I’m late but I’m doing it! XD

Rules:

 • Make sure you give credit to the original creators of this tag – this tag was originally created by Bree Hill.
 • If you want to, pingback to the post you first saw this tag
 • Have fun!

The Questions:

What is your fantasy origin story? (The first fantasy you read)

3. sy475

Believe it or not but it’s actually HP. I picked up the first book when I was 11 and then read the entire series over the years. When I was 19 I read the last book . I know the author is persona non grata in the bookish world now, but I grew up with HP and it will always be a part of me no matter what the author does/says. I don’t agree with anything she said but I also can’t erase 9 years of my adolescence/youth and I think a lot of people that are also part of the LGBTQAI+ community and loved/love HP will agree with me. Okay, sorry that this got so political but I kinda feel like nowadays everyone expects you to dislike the HP books because of what the author said and I just can’t dislike the books for what the author says. I keep them both seperate.

If you could be the hero/heroine in a fantasy novel, who would be the author and what’s one trope you’d insist be in the story?

As a faerie I’d totally love to be in a Holly Black or Cassandra Clare book. XD And as for the trope I’d insist on… It are actually two: 1.) found family & 2.) enemies-to-lovers! Ohh I’d love to be in a book like that. *lol*

What is a fantasy series you’ve read this year, that you want more people to read?

305234
Uff, that one is tough because I really didn’t read all too many books this year. Not just not a lot of fantasy books but books in general. I guess I’ll just go with a fantasy series I read in 2021 here because that answer makes more sense. Melissa Marr’s „Wicked Lovely“ series is definitely a series that should be read by more people because it are cruel and cunning faeries and I just love those books. They started my love for faeries years ago and I lost count of how often I reread this series already. XD

What is your favourite fantasy subgenre?

I’m such a sucker for high fantasy and urban fantasy and yes, occasionally even dark fantasy. Okay, I’m just a fantasy fan in general so it’s hard to choose just one subgenre and I’ll just go for those three. No apologies here! ;-P

What subgenre have you not read much from?

I definitely didn’t read a lot of grimdark fantasy and I want to pick up more books of that genre because it sounds intriguing. XD

Who is one of your auto-buy fantasy authors?
Uff there are so many I’d auto-buy but quite honestly I ususally borrow the books from my library. I like Jim Butcher, Scott Lynch, Patrick Rothfuss (if he’d finally release that third book!!! ARGH!!!) but also Sarah J. Maas, Cassandra Clare, Leigh Bardugo, etc.

How do you typically find fantasy recommendations? (Goodreads, Youtube, Podcasts, Instagram..)
A mixture of all of the above? I found so many fantasy books on goodreads and through the BookTube channels I follow and since I joined IG in December 2021 I’m getting lots of recs over there too. *lol* Seriously social media is horrible if you want to reduce your TBR. It only adds even more books to it. >_<

What is an upcoming fantasy release you’re excited for?

59826154. sy475 Okay, that’s maybe stretching it because the book already got out at the beginning of May but I’m still looking forward to read it so yeah! *lol* Seriously though, I wanted to read this ever since I knew this was going to be a thing, but I couldn’t get my hands on an ARC and so I just waited until it finally got out and once I have this book I’ll read the hell out of it. XD

What is one misconception about fantasy you would like to lay to rest?

I really don’t know if there are a lot of them and if there are I never really heard about them?! Do there exist some serious misconceptions? The only one I can think of is that everyone who reads fantasy must have read Brandon Sanderson as well. *lol* Up until now I’ve never read any of his books and I only just picked up my first Brandon Sanderson. So I guess there are still a lot of fantasy fans out there that haven’t read him yet.

If someone had never read a fantasy before and asked you to recommend the first 3 books that come to mind as places to start, what would those recommendations be?

I guess it always depends on the age of the reader but those three instantly come to mind:

 • The Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan (for young readers)
 • Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas (for people that like a little bit of romance in their fantasy books as well and lots of POVs)
 • Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (for those who love easy banter and a wild ride *lol*)

Who is the most recent fantasy reading content creator you came across that you’d like to shoutout?

Okay, this person is a BookTuber but I really love Johanna’s book recommendations! She reads a lot of fantasy and she gives amazing recs and is such a lovely and sweet person! =)

I’m tagging:

Rankenzeile

This was a fun tag and it was nice to go for the topic of fantasy! I’m such a fantasy reader but I get a feeling I didn’t talk about a lot of fantasy books lately? So this was a refreshing change and I kinda feel like I should read more fantasy again. *lol* Thank you so much @Hundreds & Thousands of Booksfor tagging me for this.

So what about you? Do you agree with some of my answers? Which kind of books would you have chosen for the prompts? And what is your favourite fantasy book ever?

Talk to me and let me know!

And as always take care and stay healthy and safe! ❤

Books as First Dates Book Tag!

Hey there, my lovelies!

I got tagged for this by Elli @ AceReader around Valentine’s Day last year and all I’ve to say to that is: YAY, I finally reached 2021 with my tags! *lol* My backlog has been huge but I’m catching up and I’m no longer two years behind. XD

Anyway! This said: Thank you so much for this tag Elli! This looks like it’s going to be a fun one and I can’t wait to dive into it. I need something easy right now and this just seems to be perfect for my mood. I have no idea who created this tag so I can’t give credits to anyone except of the person who tagged me. So without further ado, let’s just go for it! 😉

First and last: a book // A Series you’ve read and enjoyed but can’t bring yourself to read again.

20821111

I really enjoyed this series so much and I absolutely adored Raffaele. Okay Adelina and Enzo were pretty cool too but Raffale owns my heart and I kinda loved Magiano too. Still, no matter how amazing this series was and how much I liked it, I don’t think I’ll ever read it again. XD This is one of those series you read once and love it but then move on. At least for me it is. I dunno how to explain it any better so please bear with me. *lol*

With a friend of mine: a book // Series someone recommended to you that turned out to be different from what you had expected.

13335037. sy475

There was a time everyone and their grandma recommended me to read „Divergent“ and I’ve to say that it was actually a good recommendation. At least the first book was. I think the series lost so much after the second book and I didn’t really enjoy the ending anymore. So yeah, it was an awesome start but the initial flame kinda fizzled out at the end?!

Double date // A book whose sequel you ‘immediately’ had to read.

13455782

Probably an unconventional answer but I gobbled this series down like nobody’s business! *lol* Seriously, when I picked up „Shatter Me“ I never expected to love this series so much but boy was I in for the ride! XD I think I immediately read „Unravel Me“ just to jump right into „Ignite Me“ as well. I absolutely love the original „Shatter Me“ trilogy. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the other 3 books that came after. T_T

Let’s go to the movies // A book series that should be adapted to screen.

23395680. sy475

Can Mr. Jay Kristoff get to it already?!! This series would be so perfect for the movies!! Like OMG!!! I mean just imange this series actually becoming a trilogy on screen! Alone the mere thought of it makes me grin like a Cheshire cat! ❤ I would love to see all those characters in action and because of the fast pacing of the series this would be one hell of a action movie. XD

Dreamy Stargazing // A book that made you go ‘ahhhh’ and ‘ohhhh’.

12000020

This book made me go „ahhh“ and „ohhhh“ in the best way possible because it was such a lovely read. Legit my favourite coming-of-age story and I loved how all the different topics in here were explored. Not to mention the beautiful writing style of Mr. Alire Saenz! Truly such a wonderful „dreamy stargazing“ book! ❤

Fun at the Fair // A book full of colours.

42189109. sy475

Wow, that’s such a tough prompt. Which kind of colours are we talking about? Actual colours on the cover? Characters that love to express themselves by drawing with different colours? Or the characters in the book themselves that all come with different personalities and therefore are diverse and colourful?! I’ll just go with the last one because I’m so extra and say: „Heartstopper“ because it’s not just a colourful cover but also a series full of diversity and I just love it!!!!

Amusement park adventure // A book that was a rollercoaster.

18187013
ALL. THE. FEELS!!!! AAKDFLASDFJASKDFJASDFKASJDFAKSDFJ! This was such an emotional roller coaster I can’t even! Like seriously!!! I can’t! I finished this book in August 2021 and I’m still not over it!!! I repeat: STILL. NOT. OVER. IT!!! How am I ever supposed to move on to the next book?! Book 3 is going to destroy me for sure. T_T (but I still want to know what happens next… I know what you’ll say: „It’s your funeral“ and you’re so right with it. *lol* RIP my poor soul!

Picnic with cherries // A book whose food descriptions made you feel all *heart eyes*.

45045129

I swear this book made me so damn hungry!!! *lol* All the mentions of „Monster Cake“ and „So Sorry Blondies“ etc. had me almost drooling on the pages and I really would have loved to taste the food Emma Lord invented in this book because it really sounded so freaking delicious! ❤ I’m sure I would have become an instant regular at Pepper’s shop! Haha!

Trip to the museum // A book that taught you valuable stuff.

55811021. sy475

At the risk of repeating myself: „Felix Ever After“! I loved this book so much and I hold it so close and dear to my heart! There were so many things I learned from this book (especially a lot of things about myself) and this even though it’s a LGBTQ+ YA contemporary romance. But honestly it’s so good. It teaches you to accept yourself, it tackles lots of serious topics but it somehow still manages to keep the balance between serious and entertaining. Kacen Callender is amazing! ❤ I can’t wait to read more of their books.

The Outstanding Blogger Award

Hey there, my lovelies!

I just noticed that I got tagged for this by Elli @ AceReader in 2020 and I can’t even say how shocked I am about my snaildom. *lol* Like honestly! 2020??!!! I’m so behind on tags and awards it’s not normal anymore. XD Anyway! Thank you so much Elli for nominating me for this Award. I’m sorry I’m only getting to it now but oh well, I gotta defend my title as the snail of all snails, right?! *lol* This said, let’s not waste any more time and head straight to the fun part!

The Rules

 1. Provide the link to the creator’s original award post. (very important: see why in step 5)
 2. Answer the questions provided.
 3. Create 7 unique questions.
 4. Nominate 10 bloggers. Ensure that they are aware of their nomination. Neither the award’s creator, nor the blogger that nominated you, can be nominated.
 5. At the end of 2020, every blog that ping-backs the creator’s original post will be entered to win the 2020 Outstanding Blogger Award!

What book have you re-read the most?

Ha! That’s such an interesting question and I guess my answer for it is even more interesting. *lol* I reread Harry Potter about a gazillion times but I also reread the „Captive Prince“ series at least as much. XD I know those two are very different. But oh well, that’s typical me right there. ;-P Also I constantly reread chapters of „The Raven Cycle“ but I don’t count it as a full reread because I’m not reading the entire book/series. Go figure. Haha!

A popular book you think is overrated?

Mhmm that’s a tough one. I usually tend to like the popular books but if I’d have to choose I’d say „The Maze Runner“ series. I really enjoyed the first book but oh boy, the second and the third one made no sense. I basically spent all of book two and three ranting about how illogical everything is. *lol* It just wasn’t for me. Sorry?!

Translate the title of your favourite book into emojis.

Framed Picture Emoji (U+1F5BC) man | emojidex - custom emoji service and appsHeart emoji" Art Board Print by BlvckBleach | Redbubble (If you’re able to guess that one you’re good. *lol*)

Do you watch booktube? If yes who is your favourite booktuber?

Funny how my answer changed to that one. If I’d have done this tag in 2020 (when I got tagged for it) I wouldn’t have known any BookTubers, but since I started my own channel in 2021 I know way too many now. XD There are so many awesome BookTubers I can’t possibly answer that question. >_< They are all too good!

What’s the best book-ish gift you’ve ever received?

I usually gift myself with bookish things because I always get gift cards and then buy the things/books I want to buy. BUT I got my „The Sassy Library Fox“ sign that’s always in the background of my videos from my bestie and it’s really one of the most amazing bookish gifts I ever received! I love it so much! ❤

If you could travel in time, where would you go?

For some reason I was always fascinated by the 18th century so I probably would go there and satisfy my curiosity? *lol* I dunno why but for me this time period is super interesting. XD There just happened a lot and there were so many interesting kings, etc.

How do you rate books?

I rate them with my paws (or stars on GR) and there are a couple of things that factor into my rating. Of course every book rating is subjective so I have my own personal rating system which is actually written on my blog. Just in case you never saw it:

5 Paws – I loved, loved, loved that book and neither was able to put it down nor wanted it to end. I’ve become a huge fan and will not only reread the book but also search for fanart in the net! XD

4 Paws – I liked the book a lot and enjoyed to page through it. It was an easy and nice read and I’d recommend it any time.

3 Paws – The plot and the characters were good but I might have had some minor issues with the writing or the book didn’t capture me as much as I would have liked it to.

2 Paws – It was okay but there were so many things I didn’t like that I definitely won’t keep it in my collection and also won’t recommend it to anyone.

1 Paw – I hated it and constantly felt an overwhelming urge to either throw it against a wall or to burn it. Thank god it’s over! Good riddance!

Birthday Tag!

Hey there, my lovelies!

Today I decided to do a tag I never did before: The „Birthday Tag“! So yes, today is my birthday! I saw this on IB’s blog when she celebrated her birthday and decided to do the tag once my birthday arrives! So a huge thank you @ It’s IB! for making me aware of this tag! I’m sure this is going to be fun so let’s just go for it! =)

1. When is your birthday?

February, 12th so today, obviously. *lol* 🎊

2. How old are you turning?

If the thirties are the new twenties then I’m turning 24. *lol* ;-P

3. What was your favorite present that you’ve ever received?

That’s such a tough question because I got so many great presents over the years. I will just pick two of the most recent presents I loved a lot! 1. The Kim Taehyung „Blue & Grey“ painting of the Yoongi to my V, which she gifted me on HER birthday! (My Yoongi is too kind! <3) and the Kim Taehyung calendar I got as a Christmas present from my other bestie who is the JK to my V! My besties know me too well. *lol* As it should be! 😉

4. Are you/did you have a party this year? If so what are you doing?

Unfortunately nope. It’s cold over here and we’re in the middle of a global pandemic, numbers are sky high in Austria and to meet people outside is out of the question. If I’m lucky I’ll be able to celebrate with my sister’s family and my parents. XD

5. How do you usually celebrate your birthday?

My bestie and I have this tradition that we celebrate our birthdays together. Our birthdays are just four days apart so we made it a tradition to go to our favourite Running Sushi restaurant and to eat there. It’s been going strong for years now. 😂 I mean sometimes (especially in Covid times) we had to celebrate our birthday in March or even later but we always, really always celebrate it together.

6. What was the most memorable birthday that you had?

My eighteenth birthday. Memorable in so many ways…. It was the saddest birthday I ever had but it also was one of the nicest because I got the surprise party I always wanted… just without the most important person in my life. (at least back then) Okay, this is getting depressing. Next question!

7. If you had an unlimited amount of money what would you do for your birthday?

Unlimited? Really?! Oh boy, where do I even start? *lol* I think I’d buy a beautiful house for my family and me and I’d travel somewhere nice with my entire family and all my besties. Maybe a nice vacation in an amazing hotel at sea. I don’t even care where. Just somewhere nice where there is an ocean and great food. XD Oh jeez! You give me an unlimited amount of money and that’s all I can come up with. *lol* But seriously, all the money in the world is worth nothing if you can’t share it with the people you love. ❤

8. What’s your birthday wish list?

I think I’ve reached that age when you don’t have all too big wishes anymore. If BTS ever comes to Austria or at least to Germany I’d want a ticket to their concert. XD Except of that? I could wish myself an own house or lots of books etc., but I think the only thing that truly matters to me right now are the wishes you can’t buy with money. I wish for good health for all my family members and friends and of course I want to be healthy as well. And I wish for more time to do the things I want to do, for the things that bring me joy and for more time with my loved ones. This is the most valuable commodity. 😀

9. If you only had one birthday left, what would you do for your birthday?

I’d have a huge dinner with the people I love and would spend the entire day with them. Period.

10. Have you changed a lot from last year?

Yes! I truly live „love myself“ now and I don’t take any shit anymore. If something is making me angry or frustrated I address it directly and don’t beat around the bush. I used to be the person that got along well with everyone but last year taught me that many people will take advantage of my kindness and will use it against me. I suffered through a lot of injustice because of that and if there is anything I hate then it’s injustice. (No matter if it’s directed at me or someone else.) All that made me a very unhappy person last year and I definitely learned my lesson. „Kill ‚em with kindness“ doesn’t always work, sometimes you just have to show your claws and teeth. 😉

11. Do you have any birthday traditions?

Yeah, the Running Sushi one with my bestie I spoke about earlier. XD Aside from that there’s only one more tradition: I take a day off from work. That is, of course, if my birthday is during the week and I would have to go to work. This year it’s a Saturday so I have no work anyway. *lol*

12. What’s your favorite part about your birthday?

Okay, that might sound weird now but it’s the fact that I got one year older. I know a lot of people hate that they are getting older and don’t like their birthdays because of that, but as someone who has gone through loss and grief when I was very young I appreciate and value every second I have. Life is so precious, don’t waste it! Every birthday I celebrate is another year I was allowed to live in this beautiful world and I’ll forever be grateful for it. ❤

13. Have you ever spent your birthday in another country?

Nope. Which is pretty sad now that I think about it. *lol* I guess it’s because it’s winter when I have my birthday and you usually go on vacation during the summer?! Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I’ll add that to my bucket list now: Spend your birthday in another country. XD

14. Have you ever been thrown a surprise party or have you ever thrown one for someone?

Both. There was a surprise birthday party on my 18th birthday. And I threw a surprise birthday party for my sister when she turned eighteen. 😉 Hers was a lot of fun because I somehow managed to get all our friends to the garden house of my parents and it was summer and we danced, laughed, had a barbecue, talked and played lots of games. Good times! And of course she had no idea! I’ll never forget her look when we all appeared from behind the house. *lol*

15. Do you know any celebrity who you share your birthday with?

Actually, yes. Christina Ricci, Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln. Those are the three most famous ones I think.

16. What’s the earliest birthday you remember?

I think my 6th or 7th? My parents always made a carneval party when I was younger and every kid that came to my party dressed up. It was fun! Unfortunately I got older and from my 11th birthday on there weren’t a lot of cool parties anymore. Maybe I should make that a tradition in the future? When Covid is over it would be fun to have a carneval party every year. *lol*

17. Do you think a lot of things are gonna change next year today?

I certainly hope so. I really would like to celebrate my next birthday without Covid and I’d love to celebrate it with all my friends and my family. A huge party without any lockdowns or restrictions. I really hope next year we’ll finally all be able to take a step towards each other again and that to hug and cuddle each other without any distance will be the most normal thing in the world. That’s my wish for next year. ❤

This was a really nice tag and I enjoyed to answer the questions! =) If you have read this far, thank you! XD I know I can never keep things short so I really appreciate you sticking around until the end. Also if any of you has birthday in the near future or wants to do this tag whenever you celebrate your birthday, feel free to refer to me and to use it! 😉

And now I’ll go and eat my strawberry birthday cake, because TaeTae and I have that in common too. *lol*

The Book Snob Tag

Hey there, my lovelies!

My last tag has been a while agao and I thought why not go for another one. I was tagged for this by Hundreds & Thousands of Books about a year ago and decided to go for it now. *lol* My backlog of tags is massive as you can see, but better late than never, right? ;-P So this said: Thank you for tagging me for this fun tag! It’s definitely one I never did before. XD

FORMAT SNOB You can only choose 1 format in which to read books for the rest of your life. Which one do you choose: physical books, eBooks, or audiobooks?

Okay, I guess I’m outing myself as a format snob now because when it comes to books physical ones will always win. 😉 And to be even more snobbish: paperback copies. *lol* I’m not an all too huge fan of hardback copies so if I buy a book (which I rarely do because I’m usually borrowing them from my library) then I always buy paperbacks. I’ve read plenty of e-books on my e-reader too but it’s just not the same as paging through a book. Tell me I’m not alone with this! *lol*

ADAPTATION SNOB: Do you always read the book before watching the film/ TV show?

I really try my best to do that, but I’m not always succeeding. There were a couple of times I only watched the movie and never read the book, but you can count them on one hand. I think it’s really rare for me to read the book after watching the movie and this is mostly due to the fact that I only found out the movie was based on a book after watching the movie. If that makes sense? XD

SHIP SNOB Would you date or marry a non-reader?

I think I never dated a non-reader and I definitely married a reader so I guess that says enough? In my experience you have to have some common ground to make a relationship work and I probably could have never dated or married a non-reader because reading is such an integral part of my life it would be impossible not to talk about it. A non-reader would probably roll their eyes. My hubby, well, he rolls his eyes too because he reads in different genres than me, but at the end of the day he understands my enthusiasm for books because he enjoys reading them too. =)

GENRE SNOB You have to ditch one genre – never to be read again for the rest of your life. Which one do you ditch?

Religious/Spiritual books and biographies. Oh, that are actually two. Never mind! XD And to explain it: I respect everyone’s religion and in who or what they believe in but I don’t need to read books about it. Most of the religious/spiritual books I’ve read and seen have a patronizing angle or try to convert you and I just can’t with that. Also I’m very bad at reading biographies because I lose interest in them pretty fast. That genre just isn’t for me.

COMMUNITY SNOB Which genre do you think receives the most snobbery from the bookish community?

Haha! That’s a fun question. I personally think that it would be erotica. No matter if it’s f/m, m/m, f/f etc. it’s definitely a genre A LOT of people frown upon. Like decent people, read decent books and erotica is not decent. *lol* Believe me, I’ve been there, done that, got the freaking t-shirt. I really got a lot of shit for reading in that genre, but quite honestly I don’t care. I read what I want to read and if people don’t like that, it’s their problem not mine. ;-P

SNOBERY RECIPITENT Have you ever been snubbed for something that you have been reading or for reading in general?

There will always be people who wonder why you read so much and can’t understand your love for books, but I got used to it by now. If you’ve never been so hooked by a book that you read until the early morning hours you’re definitely missing out! XD It’s their loss though. And yes, as I mentioned earlier a lot of people snubbed me for reading erotica.

Rankenzeile

This was a short and fun tag! I really liked that this was a little bit unusual and different. XD So what about you? Did you enjoy my answers? Do you agree on some of them or do you disagree? What is a genre you don’t read in very often?

Talk to me and let me know! 😉

And as always take care and stay healthy and safe!

The Feelings Tag

Hey there, my lovelies!

It feels like it’s been ages I last did a tag on my blog but I got tagged for this by Ella @ ella isn’t reading about a year ago and it’s finally time to do this tag! *lol* So a huge thank you to Ella for tagging me and for being so patient! XD I really like the idea of this tag because the feelings I have while I read a book are always an important criteria when it comes to my rating. So this said, let’s just head to the tag!

The rules:

 • Thank the blogger who nominated you and give a link to the blog.
 • Answer the 5 feelings given to you.
 • Nominate between 5 other bloggers.
 • Give your nominees 5 feelings too.

Ella’s Questions:

1. A book that you can’t forget

35068705

Normally I’d go with „Sadie“ here because this book is still haunting me, but I decided to go for a different book this time around. „The Poppy War“ is also among the books I can’t forget and even though I read it about two years ago I’m still not over it and didn’t dare to read the sequel. I think I need to be in a really good headspace to be able to tackle it or I’ll at least have to buddy read it with someone. XD

2. A book that made you angry about the world

18743272

That is a tough one but „The Raven King“ definitely made me angry about the world. What Neil and Andrew have to experience and what they go through, it made me so, so damn angry! I mean there are adults in this series but they can’t really help them and UGH! (To sing it with BTS’s words) *lol* It’s just so wrong and unfair and they deserve the world! T_T

3. A book that disappointed you

24965992

I absolutely loved and adored „The Selection“ trilogy. It’s one of those guilty pleasure series you just read and devour. XD But the fourth book in the series „The Heir“ just didn’t do it for me. I mean I really liked all the boys but Eadlyn (America’s and Maxon’s daughter) was such an unlikable character and super immature. So yeah I was a little disappointed by the last two books and didn’t enjoy them as much as I enjoyed the original trilogy.

4. A book that made you laugh and cry

36285077. sx318

Wow, that’s no easy prompt. I mean there are a lot of books that make you laugh OR cry, but usually it’s not both. So I had to think a little bit about that prompt but in the end there’s only one author that can always make me laugh and cry with her books. Suanne! I swear „A Charm of Finches“ caused me to laugh really hard but it also made me cry like a baby so it definitely fits the bill. Suanne writes such beautiful and painful stories and her books always make me feel A LOT! ❤

5. A book that excited you

56347574. sy475

I was sooo ready to read this ARC and already very excited to start with it, but once I actually read the book I was even more excited because it was everything I ever wanted to read and even more! ❤ I absolutely ADORED this book and I wish I could read it for the very first time! I kinda envy the people that will discover „If This Gets Out“ when it hits the shelves in December! *lol*

My 5 Feelings for you:

 1. A book that made you feel uncomfortable
 2. A book that made you happy
 3. A book that made you laugh AND cry (because I just love books like that and need recs. ;-P)
 4. A book that made you giddy
 5. A book that made you broody

And here’s who I tag, if you want to do it:

Sabrina @ Notes From a Paper Plane Nomad
Jessi @ xobooksheaven
Hamad @ The Book Prescription
Susan @ Susan Lyn Knits and Reads
Brianna @ Brianna’s Books And Randomness

Rankenzeile

This was a pretty fun tag and I really enjoyed the questions so thank you once again to Ella for tagging and thinking of me! XD I hope you enjoyed my answers and I really hope everyone I tagged will have fun with this too! =)

The Agust D ‚D-2‘ Book Tag

Hey there, my lovelies!

To celebrate 1 year with Agust D’s ‚D-2‘ mixtape the Yoongi to my V came up with a book tag for it in May! And since I’m her V and a fellow ARMY she decided to tag me for it! I consider myself lucky to be tagged by her for all of her original BTS (BTS related) book tags because they are always amazing and I love to do them! 💜 I decided to go for a BookTube video again because I want this tag to spread throughout the whole world. *lol* It’s just too good and I hope many people will enjoy to do it as well! This said, let’s jump right into it!

Rules:

 • Thank whoever tagged you and link back to their post.
 • Link to the original tag’s creator: Sabrina @ Notes From a Paper Plane Nomad (please credit if using these graphics!)
 • Pick a book that fits each prompt.
 • Tag your friends or leave it open-ended!
 • Copy-paste these rules and list of prompts in your tag post (it should automatically pingback to the original so your post can be added to a masterlist!)

Here are the graphics with parts of the lyrics:

(All lyrics quoted are sourced from Doolset’s translations unless otherwise specified.)

“I wrote Verse1 f***ing fast,
But can’t make Verse 2 no matter how hard I rack my brain”

“Hit this town then cut and run in a jet
This country’s too small to hold me in yet” (lyrics from MV)

“What do you think, what do you think
Whatever you think, I’m sorry but I don’t f***ing care at all”

‘Strange’ (ft. RM): Dystopian

“We’re given multiple choices
And our taste is controlled by the capital”

“I grow older
And become to know the world
And yet, would it have been better to not know the world?”

“Whether it would become a blazing sun
Or the ashes left behind after being burnt —
Always, the choice and decision is yours to make”

“Your being ordinary is rather my being special
Your being special is rather my being ordinary”

“I thought I’d party every day when I become a superstar
But the ideal is slapping the reality in the back of its head”

“Set me free, I’m floating freely in the void”

“Still, as ever,
I miss you, and I miss you
Still, as ever,
The memories of us together circle around me

Dear my friend, how are you doing”

BONUS prompt!

If graphics aren’t your jam: Here’s a list of text-only prompts!

 • Moonlight: easy to get into but hard to finish
 • Daechwita: genre-bending
 • What do you think?: badass characters
 • Strange: dystopian
 • 28: coming of age
 • Burn It: fire in the cover/title
 • People: book you love that others didn’t, or vice versa
 • Honsool: didn’t live up to expectations
 • Interlude: set me free – feel like a dream
 • Dear My Friend: book involving letters/emails/notes
 • (BONUS PROMPT) Butter: sequel you liked more than Book 1

Tagging…

Since I couldn’t really tag anyone in the video except of everyone who watches it, I decided to tag people for it in this blog post!

Of course you don’t have to do the tag if you don’t want to! I just thought that you might! 😉

Also just in case you want to check out my BookTube channel: Here is the link!*lol*

Rankenzeile

This tag was so much fun and I want to thank Sabrina once more for creating it for us Agust D fans and ARMYs! The graphics and the prompts are super cool! They totally give me a Yoongi vibe! *lol* Did you read any of the books I mentioned in the prompts or do you want to read some of them? Do you want to do the tag as well?

Talk to me and let me know! 😉

And as always stay safe and healthy and take care!

The Smaugette Award!

Hey there, my lovelies!

I got tagged for this amazing Award by Brianna @ Brianna’s Books And Randomness and Emma @ A Few Chapters ‚til Love! As always this was a while ago and as usually I only got to it now. *lol* Anyway! What I want to say is the following: For some reason I love the idea of this Award, I mean „The Smaugette Award“! What a nice name! And then look at the awesome Smaug picture! How cool is that? XD This is definitely one of the coolest Awards I ever came across and Beck did an amazing job! 😉

This said I want to thank Brianna and Emma for thinking of me when they did this Award! They are both amazing (and super lovely) bloggers and if you don’t know their blogs already you should follow their links! Now. I mean it! ;-P Okay, let’s do this!

A Smaugette is… I don’t even know. I just came up with it randomly like eight months ago and I don’t know why I did? I just did. Anyway, this tag is for people who are generally amazing. And that’s all of y’all.

RuLeS:

 1. Tag the creator (meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!)
 2. Make sure you have the rules and smaugette definition in your post!
 3. Tag 10 fantastic friends you believe are worthy of this prEsTigIoUs AwArD
 4. Answer the questions I have!
 5. Make sure you put the award in the post so people can bask in its fabulousness
 6. Give them a new thing to try (if they want) and (if you want) try the one I’ve given you!

What I was Supposed to Try:

„Write about something, anything, for at least ten minutes a day for a week. After the weeks ends, choose the piece of writing you’re proudest of and share it in a blog post. It can be anything, from a single sentence to the start of a novel, anything you want. Get out of your comfort zone a little bit and be creative!“

This prompt made me super creative and I even came up with a plotline for a book. Maybe I’ll write the beginning of it as a blog post. Right now my creativity is flowing so everything is possible.

What I want You to Try:

I’m such a sucker for poetry and have been writing poems for years. So I’d like you to try to write a poem. It can be short or long or some sort of rap. Whatever floats your boat! You decide how you want to go about it. 😉 And who knows, maybe you’ll even have some fun?

1. What is a random hill you would die on?

(If you don’t know what this means, it’s basically something totally random that you would fight for.) BTS are a family and they don’t fake their friendship for their fans! You can’t fake a friendship like that! Their closeness and their familiar friendship is real!!! Period! Fight me!

2. What are you being for Halloween?

Well, Halloween is still a long time away but I love to dress up so just let me think about it for a second. XD I think I’d like to go as a book character. The only question is as whom? Maybe a shadowhunter? That would be fun. Or a faerie?! (I’d love to dress up as Cardan hahaha) Mhmm… I’ll give that some thought and you’ll know when it’s Halloween! *lol* ;-P

3. Tell us about your favorite article of clothing and maybe(??) include a picture?

My favourite article of clothing… Mhmmm… I think that would be my BTS Hoodie. Let me see if I can find a picture of me wearing it. There you go!

20210209_150407

4. What’s your favorite Thanos quote? Palpatine quote? Any quote?

“I know what it’s like to lose. To feel so desperately that you’re right, yet to fail nonetheless.” – Thanos

I really hated what Thanos did, but at the same time I had some grudging respect for him and his view of the world. His character was so morally grey and super well done. I couldn’t hate him but I really, really desperately wanted to. 😉

5. Who or what inspires you?

What a loaded question! Well, prepare for a long answer. What inspires me? My family, my friends, BTS, nature, life with all it’s ups and downs. The good and the bad times, the quiet and the loud seconds of my days, my darkest moments as well as my brightest, life in general. Every experience I make, every breath I take, every second I live and feel and hope and dream! ❤ Life is beautiful, you just have to accept it with all it’s good and bad sides.

Umm… so in short: Our world and the people in it inspire me and will do so until I take my final breath. 😉

6. What are your top five favorite memes?

50+ Funniest Game Of Thrones Memes Ever

K-Drama Life | Kdrama funny, Drama memes, Kdrama memes
 • Harry Potter memes | Fandom

7. Who is your favorite fictional dragon, (besides Smaug of course)?

I really don’t know all too many dragons but I think I might go with Incendiu, the dragon from Melika Dannese Hick’s „Deadmarsh Fey“. He was kickass! 😀

8. Top five favorite books right now?

I’m really glad that it says „top five favorite books right now“ *lol* because that way I can just go with the flow without overthinking my answer. ;-P Those are all books I read recently btw.

 • If This Gets Out by Sophie Gonzales (I had the privilege to read it as an ARC)
 • The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black (because Cardan!!! ❤ )
 • I Was Born for This by Alice Oseman
 • House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
 • The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
9. What is your ideal novel?

I’m a sucker for enemies-to-lovers, found family, bandlife, music/dance and the YA/fantasy genre. So everything that will include at least one of those tropes or be in the genre will make me happy as long as it’s done right. 😉

10. What memory would you think of to cast a Patronus?

This is a really deep question and I thought long and hard about it. The strongest happy memory I have so far is the birth of my kid. Nothing. Really NOTHING beats that moment of happiness when you hold this little new life in your hands. (Well, the panic that hits right after when you’re afraid you’ll do something wrong is real too, but we won’t talk about this now. Happy memories, right?! *lol*)

I Tag:

Of course you don’t have to do the Award if you don’t want to but I thought you might enjoy doing it! 😉

Rankenzeile

This Award was really interesting and I loved the questions! Very creative, unique and thought-provoking. 😉 Thank you so much for tagging me Brianna and Emma! As always it took me a while to get to it but I’m glad I finally went for it! Also I hope you enjoyed my answers! Some of those questions were actually kinda hard to answer. *lol* This said:

Take care and stay healthy and safe!
