The BTS „BE“ Book Tag + song commentary

Rules:

  • Thank whoever tagged you and link back to their post.
  • Link to the original tag’s creator: Sabrina @ Notes From a Paper Plane Nomad (please credit if using these graphics!)
  • Pick a book that fits each prompt.
  • Tag your friends or leave it open-ended!
  • Copy-paste these rules and list of prompts in your tag post (it should automatically pingback to the original so your post can be added to a masterlist!)

Hey there, my lovelies! ❤

I was lucky enough to get tagged for this by My awesome Yoongi  who is not only the creator herself but also the Yoongi to my V! XD Being ARMY and a huge fan of Sabrina and books in general I just HAD to do this! *lol* It took me quite a while to get to this tag but I eventually succeeded and went for it in the form of a BookTube video. I hope you’ll enjoy it and find some new book recs! 🙂

If you want to use the graphics you can find them in Sabrina’s original tag 😉 and if graphics aren’t your jam: Here’s a list of text-only prompts!

  • ‘Life Goes On’: Book to remember 2020 by
  • ‘Fly To My Room’: Book with a new perspective
  • ‘Blue & Grey’: Book with mental health topics
  • ‘Skit’: Book with great banter or made you laugh
  • ‘Telepathy’: Book with strong family bonds
  • ‘Dis-ease’: A comfort read
  • ‘Stay’: A book filled with yearning
  • ‘Dynamite’: Book with a retro cover

Tagging…

Since I couldn’t really tag anyone in the video except of everyone who watches it, I decided to tag people for it in this blog post! (I found some of you through Sabrina’s BTS art so I hope it’s okay that I tagged you!?)

Of course you don’t have to do the tag if you don’t want to! I just thought that you might! 😉

Also silly me forgot to mention where you can find my BookTube channel! *lol*

Rankenzeile

This tag was a lot of fun and I want to thank Sabrina once more for creating it for us ARMYs! The graphics are amazing and I enjoy just looking at them! They totally give me a happy vibe! *lol* Did you read any of the books I mentioned in the prompts or do you want to read some of them?

Talk to me and let me know! 😉

Summer Vibes Book Tag!

Hey there, my lovelies!

Now that it’s already March I decided to finally go for the „Summer Vibes Book Tag“ which was originally created by Deanna @ The Comfy Reader.  The lovely Elli @ AceReader tagged me for this in July 2020 and being the walking and talking oxymoron that I am, I almost wanted to do this in winter. *lol* Well, March is at least a halfway decent time to go for it, right? XD

Anyway! A huge thank you and shout-out to Elli for being so kind to tag me! ❤ It might have taken a while for me to get to it but here I am. Actually spring seems to be the perfect time to go for this because my anticipation for summer is great. I can’t wait to go outside and not to … well freeze. 😂

This said: Let’s to do this!

Rankenzeile

☀The Beach: A Book Set Somewhere Tropical☀

16169737

The plot of this book is quite literally playing on an island in Indonesia so it totally fits the bill. *lol* Not to mention that the chemistry between Kate and Nick is amazing and kind of heats up things as well. ;-P As an FBI agent and con man they shouldn’t even be attracted to each other but as I already said, the tropical heat is actually the least of their worries. XD This is a great series if you want something light in between books. =)

☀Music Festival: A Book with a Focus on Music☀

34325090. sy475

I think after reading „I Was Born for This“ this book will always be the first thing that pops into my mind whenever I think about a book that focuses on music. I mean it’s about a famous band and their fandom so it really nails that prompt. *lol* Not to mention that it was amazing! Seriously, if you’re a fan of k-pop, part of any band fandom, have an own blog and are active on social media this book is for you! It tackles quite serious topics like social anxiety as well though, so keep that in mind when you pick this up. 😉

☀Watermelon: A Book with a Juicy Secret☀

43242080

Haha! This addresses one of the most serious juicy secrets ever: „Who killed Evelyn Hardcastle“! XD And it was such a blast to try to unravel this secret! I swear my mind is still a pretzel but „The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle“ was so worth it. *lol* If you enjoy intricate and multilayered mystery books that make you think and blow your mind: Search no more, this one is for you! ;-P

☀Water Park: A Book Set Near or on The Water☀

34499221. sy475

Well, this book plays on the water, in the water and above the water so I guess we ticked off all the water settings. *lol* This said I loved „To Kill A Kingdom“ because the sirens in this are bloodthirsty and the prince is a pirate king that doesn’t mind to get blood on his hands. Add an awesome crew and adventure to that and you have a really nice book that will keep you entertained until the last page.

☀Ice Cream: A Book or Genre That is a Guilty Pleasure☀

10507293

Definitely „The Selection“ series! I mean book 1 to 3 were already a guilty pleasure but the fourth book seems to have cemented my opinion. *lol* I really disliked Eadlyn, but I liked some of her suitors and even though the fourth book didn’t blow me away I still want to know who’s going to be the man at her side. So I guess this truly makes this a guilty pleasure read. It caters to my girlish side. ;-P

☀Picnic with Friends: A Book About Friendship☀

46045411. sy475

I’m currently reading „House of Earth and Blood“ and the friendships in this are everything! No matter if it’s between Danika and Bryce or Hunt and Bryce, I just love them. They don’t only feel real but also very relatable. I kinda want more of them now that I’m hooked to this book but since I have no idea where this series is heading (it’s really unlike any book Sarah has written) I’ll just have to wait and find out. XD

☀Road Trip: A Book that Takes You on an Adventure☀

.29283884. sy475

Monty’s and Percy’s Grand Tour through Europe is one hell of an adventure! I loved this book so much because it was very funny and Monty is such an adorable character. His interactions with Percy were so sweet and I loved those two to bits and pieces. Also Felicity, Monty’s sister, is amazing as well and if you want to read a book that takes you on an adventure this is definitely a good choice. 😉

☀Sunburn: A Book that you Regret Reading☀

33843362. sy475

I really didn’t like „Genuine Fraud“ and after finishing it I felt like I wasted my precious reading time. I still think that it’s a „it’s not the book but me“ thing though. I thought „Genuine Fraud“ would be like „We Were Liars“ but it was something entirely different and it featured two tropes I just don’t like in books: An open ending and it had no central theme, so it’s no surprise I got a sunburn. It just wasn’t for me. *lol*

☀Summer Dress: A Book that is Light and Cute☀

41150487. sy475

„Red, White & Royal Blue“! Funnily enough this has a lot of serious topics as well but it’s feels so light and cute that it’s the first book that came to my mind. Henry and Alex were just such amazing characters and this book gave me so much hope for the future of the world. *lol* I wish we’d already be at the level of acceptance that’s portrayed in here but as long as we’re not RWARB is a great replacement for an evening star that should guide us just fine! ❤

☀Mosquito: A Book with an Annoying Character☀

52783987. sy475

I’m sure the Yoongi to my V will read this and agree! *lol* I got so annoyed by a certain someone in this book and to avoid spoilers for anyone who hasn’t read the entire trilogy yet, I’ll just say it was a female character and I didn’t like her. XD You know who I mean, Yoongi! ;-P

Tagging:

As always you don’t have to do the tag! I just thought you might enjoy it. 😉

Rankenzeile

This was a really nice tag! I should have done this in summer… or well, not! *lol* I like that I did it in March. ;-P Anyway! Did you read any of the books I mentioned or do you want to read some of them?

Talk to me and let me know! 😉

The Reread Book Tag

Hey there my lovelies!

It feels like it’s been ages I last did a tag and considering I was tagged for this in July it most definitely might have been quite a while. (understatement of the century) I swear, my backlog on tags is becoming its own entity. Sooner or later it will start to speak with me. *lol* Anywayyyy! Let’s move on! The lovely Brianna created this Randomness Tag a while ago and tagged me! I’m sorry it took me so long to get to it, but I’m glad I’m doing it now! 😀 So thank you, Brianna! This is going to be fun!

Rules:

72193

I know this is such a typical choice but it will always be Harry Potter! *lol* I’ve reread this about a thousand times and I’m pretty sure I’ll reread it a thousand times more. I grew up with this series, there’s no book that will ever beat this. XD

Believe it or not, but I never ever DNFed a book. I always read them until the bitter end even if I want to throw them out of the window or burn them to ashes or just want them to be run over by a car. (I’m looking at you „Imagine Me“.) So *lol* no book I’d pick up again. Those that got bad ratings got them for a reason. ;-P

33299920. sx318

I’d reread „A Charm of Finches“ any day! Just to read Jav’s story and to be a part of his life again would make me so damn happy. Yes, I admit it, I’m Javier Landes and Stef Finch trash and I’m not afraid to admit it. *lol* But seriously, those two were so wholesome! ❤ The world needs more m/m couples like that.

33843362. sy475

I’m so done with this book! So, so, so, done! I loved „We Were Liars“ but this one was such a disappointment and what was even worse: It had no plot and made absolutely no sense. I just couldn’t with „Genuine Fraud“ and I never want to read it again.

10428908

I remember loving this so much when I read it in school. This was probably my first venture into dark fantasy and the mystery of the story had me completely enthralled. My 13 year old me appreciated „Krabat“ a lot, especially because it was so unlike all the other boring books we read at school. *lol*

Cassandra Clare and Maggie Stiefvater! I’ve read almost all of CC’s books (I didn’t get to a couple of her new ones yet) and I’ve read a lot of Maggie Stiefvater books. Or well, most of them tbh. *lol* So I can definitely say: Whatever they write, I’ll read and reread their books over and over again. XD In fact I reread lots of CC’s books already and I’m fairly certain you don’t even want to know how often I reread „The Raven Cycle“. ;-P

41865

My younger self binged this series in no time and I was such a huge „Twilight“ fan back then. I’m so curious if I’d love it as much as I did when I read it for the very first time so I’d definitely reread it for the fun of it. I’ve been toying with the idea for years but so far I didn’t manage to do a reread of „Twilight“. Maybe next year? You never know! It will happen one day! *lol*

17675462. sy475

There have been a lot of rumours that „The Raven Cycle“ is going to be a series and tbh I really wanted to see it! I think after all the Covid-19 stuff they stopped and dropped the topic though? At least I didn’t hear any news about an adaption ever since so I guess it’s currently off the table which makes me sad but you can’t change it. I might reread „The Raven Cycle“ anyway, because it’s one of my all time favourite series and I’ll never get tired of being with the Gangsey! ❤

23395680. sy475

I’m not big on audio books because I really don’t like a lot of the voices that narrate them but I heard that „Illuminae“ has a full cast and that it’s amazing to listen to. The format of „Illuminae“ seems to be made for an audio book or even for a movie adaption so I’m pretty sure it would be great! The fact that a lot of people raved about the audio is already promising as well. 🙂

Rankenzeile

I tag the following people:

As always I tried to spread the love by tagging different bloggers! And of course you don’t have to do the tag if you don’t feel like doing it. 😉 Also if you want to do this tag and I didn’t tag you: Feel tagged from me now! *lol*

I really enjoyed doing this tag and I hope you liked my answers! Maybe we have some in common?

Talk to me and let me know!

And as always these days: Try to stay healthy and safe!

„The School for Good and Evil“ Book Tag

Hey there, my lovelies!

It’s tag time and today I’ll go for a special one! Sabrina created this tag a while ago and I thought now that I finially read the first book I might as well go for it! 😉 I’m sure everyone who knows Sabrina also knows that she’s obsessed with ‘The School for Good and Evil’ series by Soman Chainani  and so it’s no surprise she was inspired enough to actually go for her own tag! First of all I want to say: THANK YOU, Sabrina!!! Because I feel really honored that you considered me worthy enough to tag me. And secondly I need to tell you how AMAZING those prompt graphics are! Like OMG! I’m in awe. ❤ This said, let’s do this! 😀

Rules:

  • Thank whoever tagged you and link back to their post!
  • Link to the original tag’s creator: Sabrina @ Notes From a Paper Plane Nomad! Please credit if using these graphics, these eyeballs didn’t dry out squinting at a screen for nothing 👀
  • Pick a book that fits each prompt.
  • Tag whoever, as many or as few as you like!
  • Post these rules and list of prompts in your tag post. If you copy-paste the rules, it should automatically pingback to me so I’ll see your tag post!

32768522

Ahh I can already tell that Sabrina will like that choice *lol*. I’ll go with „Carry On“ here because I really never would have expected to love this book so much! I went into this expecting some sort of Harry Potter fanfic and what I got was so much more!! ❤ Simon and Baz are the best and I just adore this book!!! Also aside from the obvious points it has absolutely nothing in common with HP! XD

41827561. sy475

I think „Radio Silence“ definitely fits that bill. It was so beautiful to see how the friendship between Frances and Aled gave them the courage to be who they truly are! ❤ It enabled them to embrace their true selves and made them so much braver than they would have been on their own. I just loved their character arcs and I really, really want their clothes and Aled’s hair! *lol*

48721348

I’m only about 40% into the book but I love it already!! „The Starless Sea“ is probably the embodiment of a unique and unforgettable book and I love it with every fibre of my heart! Erin Morgenstern’s imagination is epic and I really hope she’ll write even more magical books. They are all so mysterious, mesmerising, beautiful and whimsical!

39679076

Another book I’m currently reading: „House of Salt and Sorrows“. It’s some sort of „The Worn-Out Dancing Shoes“ retelling and I’m enjoying it immensely! I mean the original fairy tale already had some sort of dark edge to it, but I think Erin A. Craig lifted it to an entirely different level. This is dark and creepy and I’m so here for it. XD

41150487. sy475

Since I already used „Carry On“ I’ll go for „Red, White & Royal Blue“ this time around! Henry and Alex were so damn adorable and Henry is the most precious and sweetest thing! ❤ I love this prince and it’s no wonder Alex fell so hard for him. RWRB was one of the best bookish experiences ever and I still think it’s an amazing and hopeful book. 😀

34076952

I don’t read many collections or anthologies but „The Language of Thorns“ was a really great collection of short stories. I loved that they were all so dark and cruel, just like the old fairy tales we all know and grew up with. Leigh did an amazing job with this book and the drawings only made this even better. I can totally recommend this if you want to read modern fairy tales. XD

29749098

The last girl gang I read about and loved was the one from Sarah J. Maas’s „Catwoman“! I swear Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn and Catwoman were such a great trio! *lol* They certainly gave Batwing a run for his money and I loved their friendship even though they had quite a few arguments. XD Now that I think about it I’ve to say that there need to be more girl gangs in books. I mostly know mixed bookish squads but almost no girl gang.

36373825. sy475

Is it weird to say „Fence“? *lol* It’s one of the few collaborations I know about and C.S. Pacat works with Joana LaFuente, Johanna the Mad and Jim Campbell so there are definitely a lot of people involved in this graphic novel. 😉 Plus all those boys are so sweet! I can’t wait to read how it’s going to continue!

40874032. sy475

„Vicious“ by V.E. Schwab! Don’t tell me you didn’t see that one coming! XD I mean Victor and Eli are the embodiment of complex villains and I just adore Victor so damn much! ❤ This man is dangerous but also hot as hell and he has feelings even though they are buried deep. *lol* Ahh I just love Victor Vale! Period!

49679656. sy475 „The Impossible Boy“! I’ll never get tired of gushing about this book and how important it was for me to read it! I didn’t even know I needed this book until I read it and I’m so glad I stumbled over it. It helped me to accept myself and to be who I truly am and it came at the right time in my life. So I’ll always be grateful Anna Martin wrote this!
5107

At the risk of feeling the wrath of many readers who love this book to bits and pieces: „The Catcher in the Rye“! I just couldn’t read this book. I mean I did read it, but it was pure torture! *lol* I have no idea why so many people love it and it was the favourite of my English teacher which was the main reason I gave it a try. Whatever the magic of this book, it was totally lost on me. Sorry!

45158895. sy475

I can’t remember ever being as stressed by a book as I was when I read „Muse of Nightmares“. Seriously, the entire book had me at the edge of my seat and whenever I thought it couldn’t get any worse, it just got … well worse. *lol* Laini Taylor killed me with this and my stress level was off the charts! >_< I’m still recovering from reading „Muse of Nightmares“ which is the main reason I haven’t posted a review yet. I need to calm down first. XD

Rankenzeile

I tag…

Of course you don’t have to do the tag if you don’t want to, it would make me happy though. *makes huge puppy eyes* *lol* And if you’re worried you might be spoiled for the series, Sabrina said it’s spoiler free. 😉

I hope you enjoyed reading through the tag! I definitely had a lot of fun doing it!

This said: Take care and stay healthy! ❤

Finally Fall Book Tag

Hey there, my lovelies!

I was tagged for this by Riddhi @ Whispering Stories and I want to give her not only a HUGE thanks but also an even bigger shout-out for being such a sweet blogger! I found a lot of interesting other bloggers through her blog post so please check it out and maybe you’ll find other amazing bloggers too! 😉 Also: Me actually doing a seasonal tag during the right season?!! I know it’s unheard of but there’s a first time for everything! *lol* ;-P

Finally Fall Book Tag

  • In fall, the air is crisp and clear: Name a book with a vivid setting.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
9361589

I really loved this book and it was such an amazing journey! So creative and beautifully written! Also the world building and magic! Just great! I think I rarely read about such a vivid setting and the only other book I can think of that might play in the same kind of league is „Strange the Dreamer“. XD

  • Nature is beautiful… but also dying: Name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.
    We Are Okay
28243032

I love this book with all my heart because it captures loss and grief like no other book I ever read. Such a beautiful and touching book! I think it shows that there are many facets of grief and that it doesn’t always have to be loud and screaming but that it can also be quiet and so painful that you can’t seem to be able to speak about it. >_<

  • Fall is back to school season: Share a non-fiction book that taught you something new.
536188

My hubby loves this book and I got curious. Don’t tell him, but I think it’s actually pretty awesome. *lol* There went a lot of effort into the details of „Man-Of-War“ and the black humour you can find in every corner of this book made it a really enjoyable read. If you like history, ships and want to know how they were operated this might be a good fit for you! 🙂

  • In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend some time with the people we love: Name a fictional family/household/friend-group that you’d like to be part of. The Shadowhunters
12788037. sy475

Oh boy, there are so many but since I’m currently reading „Clockwork Prince“ I’ll go with the Shadowhunters! Just to see Jem and Will interact would make me so damn happy, also I love and adore the friendships and relatinships in TMI and TDA as well. The Blackthorns will always have a special place in my heart and yeah… well you get the idea! *lol*

  • The colourful leaves are piling up on the ground: Show us a pile of fall coloured spines!
45158895. sy475    48849624. sy475    1473780

I hope that’s enough?! 😉

  • Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside: Share a book wherein someone is telling a story.
    Moby Dick
153747

I know this might be an interesting choice but hear me out! „Moby Dick“ is probably the embodiment of a book in which someone is telling a story. I mean it begins with the famous words: „Call me Ishmael.“ and is told from Ishmael’s POV. Also it’s a great classic and I learned a lot about whales and the sea while I read it.

  • The nights are getting darker: Share a dark, creepy read.
34076952

I read this in October and it was amazing! So many awesome, dark and creepy fairy tales! It was a lot of fun to read them and they were really good. Plus for a scaredy fox like me this was an awesome Halloween read. It was creepy and dark but not all too much!

  • The days are getting colder: Name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody’s cold and rainy day.
19547856

„Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda“ will always warm my heart! ❤ I paged through this in no time and it’s such a sweet read. I could reread this forever and maybe I’ll actually reread it soon. I miss precious and relatable Simon and heaven knows we all need a little bit of warmth and happiness in our lives!

  • Fall returns every year: Name an old favourite that you’d like to return to soon.
    Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr
305234

I even put this on my Book List 2020 and I’m so going to read it soon! I love this faerie series to bits and pieces and I adored its characters long before Maas’s Rhysand, Tamlin and Feyre even became a thing. This is the first faerie series I ever read and it will always hold a special place in my heart. 🙂 Irial and Niall!!! ❤ My precious babies!

  • Fall is the perfect time for cozy reading nights: Share your favourite cozy reading “accessories”!

Okay, so that’s definitely no typical reading accessoire but I need them for my reading like I need the air to breathe. *lol* I mark book quotes with them and I’d be totally lost without those Post-its. XD I’d never be able to write my reviews without them and they don’t hurt my precious books. Once I wrote down the quote I just remove and reuse them. 😉

Rankenzeile

This was a lot of fun! Maybe I should try to do seasonal tags in their actual season more often? Nahhh, let’s stick with breaking the habit! *lol* ;-P I’m glad I made that exception though. XD So thank you once again for tagging me Riddhi! 🙂

I’m pretty late with this so I’ll only tag a few people! As always you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to. (I’d always love to read your answers though. ;P )

I TAG:

Brianna @ Brianna’s Books And Randomness
Maya @ Her Bookish Desires
Hollie @ My Thing About Books
Katie @ The Storybook Sisters
Sabrina @ Notes From A Paper Plane Nomad
Elli @ AceReader

I hope you guys will enjoy doing this tag!
Take care and stay healthy!

SASSY Saturday

SASSY Saturday

Hey there my lovelies!

Welcome back to the seventh round of my new montly blog meme „SASSY Saturday“!

How does it work? Well, that’s easy! 😉

All you have to do is to follow those three golden rules:

1. Credit the creator of this tag (The Sassy Library Fox) and link back. (so I can see all your amazing answers!)
2. Answer the 5 questions below!
3. AND enjoy doing the blog meme! 😛

„SASSY Saturday“ is planned to be a monthly meme but if you want to do it more often feel free to go for it! This meme was created to get to know other bloggers, their new obsessions and to reflect on your own last month! Above all it was created to have fun though! 😉 If you want you can also use the banner I created! This said let’s head to the good part:

S – Series you loved this month

„Locke & Key“! Okay, I only just started with this series but boy did it have a great start. I’m so intrigued by the house and all those different keys. I’ve to admit that it’s kind of tough to watch this series if you’re a scaredy fox like me though. *lol* The first three episodes were creepy af and since I can only watch this series when my kid is in bed I watch it at night which quite honestly doesn’t help – AT ALL! *shudders* Problem is, now that I’m hooked there’s no turning back, I need to know what happens next. XD

A – Author you discovered

Alice Oseman! I know, I know, technically I already knew her, but I never read an actual book she wrote. I’ve been following her comic „Heartstopper“ for years but I never picked up one of her novels. Which I corrected this month. XD „Radio Silence“ was amazing and I was very intrigued by the two MCs. Frances and Aled are two really unique characters and I got addicted to this more than just fast. 🙂

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

Make Out Monday – Don’t Fall Asleep

Funnily enough I found this band through „Julie and the Phantoms“ and I’m kind of obsessed with this song now! It’s the band of Jeremy Shada who plays Reggie in the series. This song ist just great and it sort of speaks to me! ❤ Also can we acknowledge that every actor in „Julie and the Phantoms“ has some sort of musical background?! You can see it when they play in the series. They are true musicians through and through. (Which you realize when you’re a dedicated musician too. *lol*) My favourite part of the lyrics: „But I want you to see tomorrow, cause it’s more beautiful than you can see today. And I want you to feel no sorrow. Maybe we can learn to dream while we’re awake. Don’t fall asleep.“

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

Okay, that definitely was no pleasant surprise, but I was really surprised about how fast you can become shunned from society by just being related to someone who had to do a Covid-19 test. O_o I mean I only got a phone call from my mum who told me one of my relatives had to do a second Covid test because the rapid test kind of showed a slight sign that she might be infected. I didn’t see my relative for a week before I got that call, yet people immediately put on their masks, opened the window and politely told me I should go home. Which was kinda… WOW?! I mean, seriously? The second official test was negative btw! So that strong reaction was really sort of strange and completely blown out of proportion. I mean I get it, I don’t want to get Covid too, but can we stop treating people like they are patient zero and will get rabid any second?! I really hate what the virus does to us as a society. So much mistrust and fear…. >_<

Y – Your fave blog post of another blogger

10 Books I want More People to Read and Appreciate by May @ Forever and Everly

I really love May’s blog posts and this one was no exception! I discovered so many new authors I haven’t read yet and I think I want to give them all a try. It’s always good to hear about underrated books and I’m the first one to pick them up as long as they are good. Thankfully May’s taste is as impeccable as Warner’s appearance so *lol*! I trust her taste in books more than I trust my own and that says quite something. ;-P

What do you think about „SASSY Saturday“? Would you like to join the fun? Did you discover a new author and what was your favourite blog post of another blogger last month? Are you tired of Covid and it’s repercussions too?

Hey there, my lovelies! 😀

I was tagged for this by Emma @ A Few Chapters ‚til Love a while ago and finally managed to get to it! XD So a huge thank you to Emma for thinking of me! You’re the best! ❤ Also I saw that some of those questions will be tough to answer but I love myself a good challenge so I’m all ready for the fun! 😛

“Not only is it a seriously immersive adventure though the rivers of the world [also I’m low key screaming because we’re getting a movie] but I love the puny tongue-in-cheek humor of the skippers” –  Alexandra

Believe it or not but my knee-jerk reaction to this was that I can’t think of a single book that’s set along the river. Which is kinda crazy if you think about it. I mean there are books that mention rivers in them but they are never truly a big part of the plot. The only book that comes to mind because the characters made a journey on the Nil is „Blood Sisters“ so I think I’ll just go with this one for now. =)

34499221. sy475

“Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a pirates life for me! Pirates of the Caribbean is a staple at any Disney Park. Did you know it was the ride that actually inspired the films? That’s right, Walt Disney himself oversaw the development of the ride which opened in 1967.” – Alexandra

I never knew the ride came before the movies! Color me surprised. XD This said „To Kill a Kingdom“ definitely falls into this category! It was such an adventure and I loved Lira and Elian! By reading this book I finally realized that I’m not only a huge fan of morally grey characters but apparently also a sucker for pirate princes and blood thirsty sirens. *lol* If you’re a fan of easy banter and snark too then you really should give this a try! 😉

9378297

I am quite literally obsessed with The Haunted Mansion, namely it’s Parisian counterpart Phantom Manor with it’s more intricate, eerie theme. Located in the Western-esuqe Frontierland, Phantom Manor’s narrative centers around the bride herself and tells the story of Melanie Ravenswood who is haunted for all eternity by the menacing Phantom. – Alexandra

Ohh how I loved „Anna Dressed in Blood“. There’s a Victorian haunted house, Anna is the ghost and Cas Lowood is supposed to tackle the task of sending her to her final destination. Well, until for some reason Anna doesn’t murder him but starts to talk to him instead. XD Seriously, I got such a „Supernatural“ vibe (the early seasons) when I first read this and I really enjoyed it! If you want to read an eerie ghost story you’re in for a treat with this one. XD

23395680. sy475

Knott’s Berry Farm eat your heart out because Disney’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is the best mine cart ride. Ever. Set in a seemingly haunted canyon, Thunder Mountain is a thrilling coaster-like ride through a rickety gold mine. – Alexandra

The first book that instantly comes to mind is „Illuminae“! This book had me at the edge of my seat from beginning to finish and boy did I chew on my fingernails. *lol* I never read such a fast paced book that tackled so many interesting topics and to say my mind exploded would be the understatement of the century! I said it once and I’ll say it again: This needs to be an action movie!!!

301082. sy475

Ah, Splash Mountain – the best thrill ride in any Disney Park. Hands down. Nothing like a five story drop to ground below to get that heart pumping, am I right? Splash Mountain is a classic log ride though the bayou that features a cast of animatronic critters from The Song of the South. And, isn’t there just something so atmospheric about the Deep South? – Alexandra

Here’s an entire series that’s set in the deep south! 😛 Charlaine Harris’s „Sookie Stackhouse“ books play in a small town in Louisiana and even though the last few books of this series weren’t as good as the first 6 or so I still finished it. If you don’t want to fight through all 13 books you can always watch the tv series though. „True Blood“ is the on screen adaption and I’m sure if you like vampires you might enjoy that one as well.

12139510

Of all the flagship castles, there’s something to be said about the sprawling simplicity of Cinderella Castle in Walt Disney World Resort. I mean, the lofty spires, the climbing turrets, the ornate trims – the moat? It just screams happily ever after. Also, dinning in Cinderella’s Royal Table is a high priority of mine. – Alexandra

Don’t say you didn’t see that one coming! 😛 I mean „Cinder“ is kind of destined for this, right? And true to the fairytale original there was a castle in this one too. *lol* Also can we all agree on the fact that Cinder, Iko and Prince Kai were awesome? I really need to continue with this series because it feels like it’s been ages I read the first book. But oh well, too many books, too little time and all that jazz! XD

31458203. sy475

No trip to Disneyland’s complete without taking a spin through the whimsy of Alice’s Mad Tea Party. I don’t know about you, but I’m always the one shrieking with laughter, spinning the teacup as fast as it can go and holding on for dear life. [Would not recommend riding after a Dole Whip] – Alexandra

And here comes another retelling! „Heartless“ was one hell of a whimsical book but considering it’s the story about how a young girl became the queen of hearts this should be no surprise. 😉 I might have a few issues with this book and how the character arc was executed, but that doesn’t change anything about my love for Jest! He’s one of the best and most intriguing fictional characters ever and if you haven’t read „Heartless“ yet you’re definitely missing out!

45112

Okay, so the Matterhorn isn’t as cool as Thunder Mountain but it’s snow-capped aesthetic and alpine vibe is seriously atmospheric. As you hurtle though snowy chutes and jagged edges, you might even glimpse the Abominable Snowman himself. – Alexandra

In Robin Hobb’s „Assassin’s Quest“ the characters spend a lot of time walking and hiking on the mountain so that’s the first book that came to mind. *lol* If you want to read it I recommend to read the first two books though! If you’re an epic fantasy fan you’ll most likely end up loving it because Robin Hobb doesn’t only write awesome fantasy but also amazing characters (especially Fitz, Nighteyes and The Fool)! I loved this series so much! ❤

16059492. sy475

Ignoring that fact that It’s a Small World is the most annoying song ever written [try getting that one out of your head], I can’t fault it’s child-like celebration of world peace and unity. It’s whimsical and iconic as you board a boat and traipse across the globe. This might make me seem like a Basic White Girl™, but I’ve always been fascinated by French folklore and culture. – Alexandra

„The Grisha Trilogy“ is inspired by Russian folklore and mythology and you can read it in every single page. I guess that’s part of why I enjoyed it so much! Other countries, their culture and their languages always fascinated me and still do so it’s no surprise I was a sucker for this kind of fairytale! XD And Leigh Bardugo can write!!! If the Darkling and Nikolai Lantsov aren’t enough reasons to read this, then I don’t know. *lol*

38822981

As far as roller-coasters go, you can’t beat the thrilling breathlessness of racing through the cosmos in Space Mountain. The attention the detail – the futuristic space station vibe, the swirling strobes and the nebulae as you hurtle through the void of space makes Space Mountain a truly immersive, out-of-this-world experience. – Alexandra

Okay, that promt was really hard because I think I never read a real space opera! If NetGalley decides to approve my ARC of „Seven Devils“ I’ll finally go for the experience though! *lol* I really can’t wait to dive into this and after reading Sabrina’s review I’m convinced that I’ll enjoy it immensely. 😀

Of course you don’t have to do the tag if you don’t want to! I just thought you might enjoy doing it! Disney is always a lot of fun, at least for me it is, so I wanted to share it! 😉

Rankenzeile

This was quite a tough tag indeed. *lol* I really had to think long and hard before I could come up with a book for some of the promts. XD It was fun though! Do you like Disney and did you ever visit one of the parks? Do you agree with my prompts? What kind of books would you have chosen? Did you read and like some of the books I mentioned? Talk to me and let me know!

SASSY Saturday

SASSY Saturday

Hey there my lovelies!

Welcome back to the fifth round of my new montly blog meme „SASSY Saturday“!

Yuri on Ice!

anime, gif, and love Bild

There will never be a universe in which I won’t love this series to the moon and back! ❤ And I’m so glad I finally have it on DVD and Blu-Ray! I swear Yuri’s and Victor’s relationship is EVERYTHING!!! I mean, how could you possibly not love them and this show?! There’s competition, there’s figure skating, there are amazing friendships, there’s love and trust and hope and fear and ARGH!!! It’s just amazing! If you haven’t watched it yet, do yourself a favour and take a closer look! Yuri and Victor are the best! 😉

A – Author you discovered

This month it would be Nora Sakavic! I wanted to read her „All for the Game“ series for ages and finally managed to get to it. I mean, it only took me three years to pick it up, but we all know I’m a snail! *lol* Still, no matter how late I jumped the hype train: THIS STUFF IS GOOD!!! I didn’t expect to get addicted to it so fast but three things are for certain: 1.) Neil Josten is a precious cinnamon roll and needs to be protected at all costs!!!! 2.) Andrew Minyard is a dangerous and volatile minx and I adore him!! 3.) I’m so going to read those two sequels. XD

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

Greg Laswell – Dodged A Bullet

There’s something about this song! I just can’t seem to get enough of it. Maybe it’s the melody or the lyrics, but it speaks to me somehow. Don’t ask me, I can’t describe it! All I know is that this soft guitar version is amazing. 🙂

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

My bestie and I recently went to a new Japanese restaurant that has an „all you can eat“ buffet! So we decided to try it out because as you all know by now we’re suckers for Japanese food. *lol* Anyway, we ordered our drinks and barely sat there a few minutes when all of a sudden a robot rolled towards us and offered us our drinks. XD As it seems it’s name is Yuki and it hands out the bevarages at the restaurant. This was really funny and I’m sure we’ll go there again. Guess we got a glimpse at the future. 😉

Y – Your fave blog post of another blogger

SHINING A LIGHT ON BOOK BLOGGERS’ WORK: WHAT DO WE REALLY DO?

I absolutely loved Marie’s blog post!!! There were so many things she mentioned and I agreed with a lot of them! I think this was a really nice way to appreciate book bloggers and to point out that to be an influencer doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ve to be a book tuber. We’re fond of the written word and there are plenty of people that still read it! XD So keep on writing guys and check out Marie’s amazing post! 😉

What do you think about „SASSY Saturday“? Would you like to join the fun? Did you discover a new author and what was able to surpise you last month? Do you think server robots might actually become an integral part of our near future?!

Talk to me and let me know! 😉

The Throne of Glass Book Tag

Hey there, my lovelies!

I got tagged for this by Brianna @ Brianna’s Books And Randomness in March and the fact that I’m only doing this now is testament to my „Snaildom“ and yes, this might be a word I made up but it definitely is a thing. *lol* 😛 Anyway, thank you Brianna for thinking of me when you did this tag! I’m a huge fan of the „Throne of Glass“ series and it made me really happy to get tagged for this. XD

So before I do this tag there’s only one thing I need to get off my chest first: WHY IS THERE NO DORIAN HAVILLIARD PROMPT!!!??? Like seriously?! How could you forget about my baby!? T_T Not fair! I still love „Throne of Glass“ though so I’ll do the tag even though not having a Dorian prompt is kinda killing me. A slow and painful death. *lol*

Anyway, let’s do this and wallow in my justified pain later. 😛

~LYSANDRA~

A book with a cover change you loved

I think that would be Jay Kristoff’s „Nevernight“. When I first got curious about the book I always saw the cover with Mia on it but I rarely like book covers with people on them. (Of course there are plenty of series that do this and I love them still. *lol*) Well, and then I discovered the other cover and was blown away! ❤

26114463    34503674. sy475
I don’t know about you but in my opinion the second cover is way more awesome than the first. XD Especially because there are so many details in the drawing! It’s amazing!

~ABRAXOS~

A book that’s better on the inside than it looks on the outside

21956219

Seriously, the cover of „Assassin’s Apprentice“ couldn’t have been any more boring. It has that typical 90ies epic fantasy vibe going on and when I first picked it up in my library I was like: Mhmm let’s see if this is going to be good. AND boy, was it awesome!!! By now there are about three other covers but none of them does Fitz’s story justice so I think I’ll never be satisfied with the covers for this book. *lol*

~ERILEA~

A series with great word building

77683

Jeez! I could go with about a million fantasy series here but I’ll go back to the roots and say „Lord of the Rings“. XD Because let’s face it, this was one of the first epic fantasy series I read. I was 13 when I first picked it up and so immersed in the story that I didn’t only read all three books in about a week but also learned Elvish. (yes, I was THAT obsessed!) *lol* I guess that says quite a lot about the great word building of J.R.R. Tolkien. Eleni sílar antalyannar! 😛

~RIFTHOLD~

A book that combines genres

36381037

Well, if the combination of a fairy tale and science fiction isn’t the perfect pick for this, then I don’t know. 😉 I loved how Marissa Meyer combined those two genres in „Cinder“ and I’m really looking forward to read the rest of the series. 😀

~DAMARIS ~

A book based on/inspired by a myth/legend

13516154

I will never get tired of telling everyone how wonderful this book is! „The Song of Achilles“ is one of the best books ever! ❤ Madeline Miller nails fictional myths and legends like no other author I ever encountered and I don’t even hesitate before I pick up one of her books.

~KALTAIN ROMPIER~

A book with an unexpected twist

15839976

I don’t know how often my head was spinning while I read the „Red Rising“ series but Pierce Brown definitely threw me for a loop! *lol* There were soo many twists and turns throughout the entire series that I was reduced to a nail biting mess by the end of it. Haha! Such a great series! ❤

~ASSASSIN’S KEEP~

A book with an unreliable narrator

16143347

I guess Cady from „We Were Liars“ is the only character that comes to mind. I probably should read more books with unreliable narrators. XD

~ASTERIN BLACKBEAK~

A book that’s got squad goals

26642116. sy475

I’m sure that if you’ve read „Six of Crows“ this is the first book that will come to your mind. And if you haven’t read it already you certainly should because that squad is truly #SquadGoals!!! I loved Kaz, Inej, Jesper, Wylan, Nina and Matthias. ❤ All of them were such amazing characters and the way they work together and appreciate each other (and their skills) is nothing but awesome.

~TERRASEN~

A book that feels like home

    17675462. sy475  29637128. sy475

I could go with „Harry Potter“ here because it’s basically my childhood but I discovered so many great series over the years and if I have to choose I’ll go with „The Raven Cycle“ and „An Exaltation of Larks“.  HP feels like my childhood and therefore is dear to my heart and feels like home, but those other two …. they are my everything! ❤ Just to think about them makes me feel all cozy, homey and loved.

~AELIN ASHRYVER GALATHYNIUS~

A book with the power to destroy you

39340341. sy475

I’ll go with the only book I never managed to write a review about: „Kingdom of Ash“. This book was so good and destroyed me in the best way possible. It took me about 5 months to even think about writing a review and there are so many characters, quotes and things that happen in here that I still didn’t finish my review. I feel like Patrick Rothfuss writing „The Doors of Stone“. *LOL* So if I ever write and post this review I’ll drink a good whiskey and lean back in my chair. Haha! 😛

~MANON BLACKBEAK~

A book that intimidated you

35068705

„The Poppy War“ intimidated me big time! For one thing it’s HUGE! The sheer amount of pages was already intimidating enough and then add all the trigger warnings I read about. This was definitely no easy read and quite a tough journey. (and this is probably the understatement of the century. XD) But it’s a really, really good book and I can totally recommend it. (Even if it’s super tough to read.)

~ROWAN WHITETHORN~

A book that makes you swoon

33299920. sx318

I haven’t read this yet but the mere idea of diving into Javier Landes’s story is already enough to make me swoon! I love this man so much! And yes I say man and not character because for me he’s a living and breathing person! ❤ I can’t wait to read this and I hope I’ll finish a few of my books soon so I can finally tackle this gem!!!

~CHAOL WESTFALL~

A book that challenged you to see things differently

43819388. sy475

I’m from Austria and my country is so very different from America. So to read this definitely challenged me to see things differently. I think „The Hate U Give“ gave me a good glimpse at America and the racism that’s still going strong. It was good to read this from Starr’s perspective and it helped me to understand the problems she had to deal with. It’s a really important and great book and I think everyone should read it!

~FLEETFOOT~

A book you received as a gift

229318. sy475

I really just got this as a very belated birthday present from one of my besties! (COVID sucks… XD) I wanted to borrow this from the library about a thousand times but I never got to it so I’m very glad I have it in my own collection now. I won’t have to worry about library deadlines when I start to read it and for me this is a big plus! *lol*

~ EYE OF ELENA~

A book you found right when you needed it

20887238. sy475

I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started to read this but it turned out to be exactly the kind of book I needed at that time. „Traitor’s Blade“ was easy to read, the characters were likable and it was something different than I’m used to. It was a really light and enjoyable book and it helped me to escape the world for a little while. XD

Rankenzeile

I’m still kinda miffed about the fact that there is no Dorian Havilliard prompt but I guess I’ll have to live with it. Why, oh why, does everyone always forget about my precious boy? *sniff* Still, this tag was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoyed my answers! XD

This said let’s tag a few of you to join the fun. 😛

I tag:

Miri @ Rosy Musings

Sabrina @ Notes From A Paper Plane Nomad

Elli @ AceReader

Kaya @ A Fictional Bookworm

Lia @ Chain of Novels

The Awesome Blogger Award

Hey there, my lovelies! 🙂

A while ago (in March, I’m such a snail 😭) Miri @ The Book Dragoness nominated me for „The Awesome Blogger Award“ and I can’t thank her enough for tagging me! ❤ Miri is awesome, as is her blog, so it’s no wonder she was nomitated for this award. (I have no explanation for my nomination though, so umm yeah, let’s move on. *lol*) I can’t wait to answer all those interesting questions and I hope you’ll enjoy to read this blog post as well. 😉

The award was created by Maggie @ Dreaming of Guatemala. This is an award for the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers. That is what truly defines an awesome blogger.

The Awesome Blogger Award Rules

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you
  • Credit the creator (I would have loved to place a link to Maggie’s page but the one I followed wasn’t active anymore. Does anyone know if her blog still exist?!)
  • Tag this post with #AwesomeBloggerAward
  • Answer all the questions given to you
  • Nominate some people
  • Write 10 questions for them to answer

Rankenzeile

1. What is your favorite spread on bread (jam, butter, etc) if you eat bread?

It used to be butter and honey, but since I started to have allergic reactions to honey (apparently being allergic to bees and wasps has something to do with it) I decided to go with strawberry jam. *lol* If the bread is fresh I love to eat it without anything though. There’s nothing better than fresh bread. XD

2. Describe your perfect reading nook! (stealing from my own answers)

Ahh don’t even get me started. I’m still dreaming of my own library room in my own house! There’d be a cozy window bench with an amazing sight into my garden and in winter when it’s cold and snowy outside, I’d sit there sipping my coffee while reading a book. I’m thinking about something like this:

  source: http://www.homedesign.de

Unfortunatley I neither have my own house nor my own garden and therefore this will have to be a dream. T_T

3. Did you experience any funny #oops moments as a blogger?

Mhmm I don’t think I had one of those yet. *lol* If I ever experience one I’ll make sure to let you know! 😉

4. Which book review you wrote is your favorite?

According to goodreads I wrote 343 reviews and I still think that I haven’t written my favorite review… yet. XD Maybe I’m too hard on myself but I still think that there are way better and more talented bloggers out there than me. I know I’m kinda shooting myself in the foot here, but it’s the truth. Can’t argue with the truth, right? *lol*

5. How has your blog changed over time?

I think content-wise it changed A LOT. When I started my blog I mostly posted book reviews and rarely went for a tag. It was all over the place and I didn’t have a schedule and posted whenever I could. With time I figured out a schedule, started to create my own blog memes and since last year I even managed to do a monthly wrap-up. Also: My graphics improved! *lol* At the beginning I drew everything by hand, now I’m working with Canva and it really helped to give my blog some colour! Plus it looks a little bit more professional. At least I think it does. XD (Okay, my review and privacy policy might have helped too. 😛 )

6. If you could eat or drink one fictional treat, what would it be?

BUTTERBEER!!! *lol* And Bertie Bott’s beans! Also I’d love to get my hands on „Lashani Blue“. It’s an alcoholic beverage that’s mentioned in Scott Lynch’s „Gentleman Bastard“ series and it sounds great. XD

7. What’s your opinion on cliffhangers?

I love to hate them. 😛 Cliffhangers and I have some sort of love-hate relationship, because they can be soo good but destroy you at the same time. (especially if you have to wait 2 years until the next book comes out!!)

8. If you could read one book NOW that’s yet to be published, what book would it be?

45044785

I think I’ll still go with „The Silvered Serpents“ here! Just in case I didn’t mention it (and I’m sure I only must have mentioned it about a thousand times by now) I really, really, really, really, REALLY want to read this book! BADLY! T_T

9. How did you choose your blog name?

Well, that’s kind of a little bit difficult to explain but I’ll try my best. Okay, admittedly the „Sassy“ and „Library“ part is easily explained: I’m sassy and I love libraries (I always say they are my sanctuary) so those two came rather naturally. 😉 As for the fox part: The fox isn’t only my spiritual animal but it also stands for a lot of character traits I seem to have. 😛 Plus another reason, of course, is that in mythology (Japanese folklore) they are shape shifters and if that doesn’t fit to me perfectly then I don’t know. XD

10. Finally, what made you start your awesome book blog?

I still blame it on the goodreads word limit! *lol* But seriously, if they wouldn’t force me to use less and less words to describe all my thoughts and feelings, I probably would have never started my own blog. XD I’m a wordy person, I just can’t help it! 😛 So if you enjoy my blog and my super long reviews you might as well thank goodreads for causing me to start my own blog! 😉

I tag:

My questions:

  1. Which kind of music do you like?
  2. Are you rather an introvert or an extrovert?
  3. Which city is your favourite city in the world and why?
  4. In which kind of bookish universe would you love to live in?
  5. How has your blog changed over time? (I’ll just steal that one from Miri because it’s really such an interesting question!)
  6. When you meet someone new: What do you pay attention to first?
  7. Describe yourself in 7 words. (Why seven? Because it’s the magical number! 😛 )
  8. Which kind of superpower would you love to have?
  9. What’s your secret talent?
  10. Why did you start blogging?

Rankenzeile

This was a lot of fun! So thank you once again for nominating me, Miri! ❤ To everyone I nominated: I hope my questions are as interesting as Miri’s and I’m looking forward to read your answers! XD

Stay safe and healthy!
