Day Of Reckoning

Never thought it would
Come this far,
But here I am,
Spotting a new scar.

And this one,
Is plain to see,
Spreading through my heart,
Like branches of a tree.

Black ink,
Underneath the surface,
Spilling like oil,
Starting to boil.
So dark and twisted,
It causes others to recoil.

The anger,
Is eating me alive,
All this frustration
Causing it to thrive.

The injustice,
Is killing me,
Filling me,
No longer thrilling me.
It’s not fulfilling,
Making me unwilling,
To do
What I loved
To do.
My only choice,
To start anew.

I’ve been stuck
For far too long,
Trying to survive,
Struggling to stay strong.
Where did I go wrong?

Took me way to long,
To see,
It wasn’t me.

It’s not my fault
If their world crumbles,
If their house of cards tumbles.
I did the best I could,
But no one understood.

Was forced to cut my losses,
To keep my head low,
To dodge their tosses.
To no longer grow.

I’m so done with
All this shit.
Found my voice,
My wit,
My grit.
You better sit,
Because,
Damn,
I quit!

Broken Heart Syndrome

They say,
With time
The pain goes away.
But
How much water has to flow?
How many mountains have to grow?
Before you can forget,
Your biggest regret?
Can’t wake from a nightmare
That’s the bitter truth,
You got old,
Can’t find your youth.

Standing at the river,
Staring at the sky,
One question on your lips: A silent
„Why?“

Every year
Water takes this rose,
Only me knows,
You’re the ashes in the sea,
This river will bring
My red roses to thee.

There are wounds
That cut too deep.
There are things
That hunt you in your sleep.
Some moments you can’t bring back.
Empty dots on a wooden map.
You can’t flee from your past,
Cause in your heart
You know
It will last and last.

Standing at the river,
Staring at the sky,
One question on your lips: A silent
„Why?“

Every year
Water takes this rose,
Only me knows,
You’re the ashes in the sea,
This river will bring
My red roses to thee.

What’s the point
On holding on to a cut line?
Yet you still can’t let go,
It’s not the right time,
It would feel like a crime.

The End

This is how it used to be,
The way things are meant…
Looking at a broken tree.
Was only searching for love,
Found thee.
For a while I got so much more,
Now I’m hollow
To my deepest core.

Where’s the reason to go on?
What are the lines for
My once perfect song?
All the footsteps are washed away,
Searching for them,
Can’t manage to find my way.

So many years spent alone.
Countless hours on an empty throne.
Lost my crown,
All on my own.
Died with every breath I took,
Take one last final look.
Time to close the pages
Of this empty book.

Where’s the reason to go on?
What are the lines for
My once perfect song?
All the footsteps are washed away,
Searching for them,
Can’t manage to find my way.

Wish…
Turn around.
Stay.

Three Day Lyrical Challenge, Day 3

I was tagged by Caidyn @ BW Reviews and I’m so thankful and glad he tagged me for this. I had a lot of fun wondering which song to choose next and now that this tag is over and we already reached day 3 I’m actually a little bit sad. *lol* Well, it was fun and that’s the most important thing! ❤

THE RULES:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Share one of your favorite song/lyrics one at a time for three days.
  3. Nominate three other bloggers each day.

Bury all your secrets in my skin
Come away with innocence and leave me with my sins
The air around me still feels like a cage
And love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage again

So if you love me let me go
And run away before I know
My heart is just too dark to care
I can’t destroy what isn’t there

Deliver me into my fate
If I’m alone I cannot hate
I don’t deserve to have you
Ooh, my smile was taken long ago
If I can change I hope I never know

I still press your letters to my lips
And cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss
I couldn’t face a life without your lights
But all of that was ripped apart when you refused to fight

So save your breath, I will not care
I think I made it very clear
You couldn’t hate enough to love
Is that supposed to be enough?

I only wish you weren’t my friend
Then I could hurt you in the end
I never claimed to be a saint
Ooh, my own was banished long ago
It took the death of hope to let you go

So break yourself against my stones
And spit your pity in my soul
You never needed any help
You sold me out to save yourself

And I won’t listen to your shame
You ran away, you’re all the same
Angels lie to keep control
Ooh, my love was punished long ago
If you still care don’t ever let me know
If you still care don’t ever let me know

This song! I’m not really a Slipknot fan and never truly enjoyed their other songs but „Snuff“?! Gosh, this is such an awesome song I can’t help but love it. The music and the lyrics are everything. It’s like poetry with music. Corey Taylor is a really talented songwriter. =)

Smile, the worst is yet to come
We’ll be lucky if we ever see the sun
Got nowhere to go, we could be here for a while
But the future is forgiven, so smile

We’re trying so hard to get it all right
But only feel lonely at the end of the night
I wanna be somewhere away from this place
Yeah, somewhere just a little closer to grace

I’ll smile, the worst is yet to come
We’ll be lucky if we ever see the sun
Got nowhere to go, we could be here for a while
But the future is forgiven, so smile
Smile

Well, call me loser, call me thief
Tell me I’m special when you spit at me
‚Cause I don’t wanna be lonely, I wanna be loved
And I want you to hold me like I’m the only one

I’ll smile, the worst is yet to come
We’ll be lucky if we ever see the sun
Got nowhere to go, we could be here for a while
But the future is forgiven, so smile
Smile

And time will eventually knock on my door
And tell me I’m not needed around anymore
But he’ll hold me so close at the end of the day
When I’m quiet I can nearly hear him say

Smile, the worst is yet to come
We’ll be lucky if we ever see the sun
Got nowhere to turn, and we’ve got nothing but time
But the future is forever, the future is forever
So smile, so smile, so smile

Smile, the worst is yet to come
We’ll be lucky if we ever see the sun

I really love this song because I adore the lyrics and the music that goes along with it. It’s somehow optimistic even though it isn’t? XD It suppose it’s kind of scarcastic but there is still so much hope swinging with it that I can’t help but love it for it. =)

Three Day Lyrical Challenge, Day 1

I was tagged by Caidyn @ BW Reviews and I’m very excited to do this! XD I love music so much and I listen to it every single day. I think my i-tunes could play music for an entire week without ever repeating a song. *lol* Plus I played in a band and own a keyboard, guitar and e-bass. 😉 So yeah, I basically live and breathe for music. ❤ Thank you so much for tagging me Caidyn! I only wish this tag would be longer than three days because there are way too many songs to choose from. XD

THE RULES:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Share one of your favorite song/lyrics one at a time for three days.

You’re giving me a million reasons to let you go
You’re giving me a million reasons to quit the show
You’re givin‘ me a million reasons
Give me a million reasons
Givin‘ me a million reasons
About a million reasons

If I had a highway, I would run for the hills
If you could find a dry way, I’d forever be still
But you’re giving me a million reasons
Give me a million reasons
Givin‘ me a million reasons
About a million reasons

I bow down to pray
I try to make the worst seem better
Lord, show me the way
To cut through all his worn out leather
I’ve got a hundred million reasons to walk away
But baby, I just need one good one to stay

Head stuck in a cycle, I look off and I stare
It’s like that I’ve stopped breathing, but completely aware
‚Cause you’re…

Head stuck in a cycle, I look off and I stare
It’s like that I’ve stopped breathing, but completely aware
‚Cause you’re giving me a million reasons
Give me a million reasons
Givin‘ me a million reasons
About a million reasons

And if you say something that you might even mean
It’s hard to even fathom which parts I should believe
‚Cause you’re giving me a million reasons
Give me a million reasons
Givin‘ me a million reasons
About a million reasons

I bow down to pray
I try to make the worst seem better
Lord, show me the way
To cut through all his worn out leather
I’ve got a hundred million reasons to walk away
But baby, I just need one good one to stay

Baby I’m bleedin‘, bleedin‘
Stay
Can’t you give me what I’m needin‘, needin‘
Every heartbreak makes it hard to keep the faith
But baby, I just need one good one
Good one, good one, good one, good one, good one

When I bow down to pray
I try to make the worst seem better
Lord, show me the way
To cut through all his worn out leather
I’ve got a hundred million reasons to walk away
But baby, I just need one good one, good one
Tell me that you’ll be the good one, good one
Baby, I just need one good one to stay

I don’t know why but I have a serious earworm from this song and it just won’t go away. I guess that’s Lady Gaga’s trademark and style though, she always manages to make me addicted to her songs. =)
