Top Ten Tuesday:  Books On My Fall 2022 To-Read List

TTT was created by The Broke and Bookish and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl (click here for upcoming TTT topics!).

Today’s Topic is: : Books On My Fall 2022 To-Read List (Now this is going to be fun again! XD)

1.) „Empire of the Vampire“ by Jay Kristoff

43728380. sy475

I wanted to read this book for ages and I guess fall is the perfect time to pick up a huge vampire book! I can’t wait to see Jay’s take on vampires and I’m sure I’ll love it! With about 700+ pages this book is pretty thick though and that actually kept me from diving into it. I’m ready for it now, though! So bring it on Jay Kristoff! ;-P

2.) „Verity“ by Colleen Hoover

60217269. sy475

And here’s another one of those books I wanted to read for a long time but never dared to pick up. *lol* This time around the fact that everyone, literally everyone, is constantly warning about the trigger warnings made me very scared to read this. But I guess it’s September and soon it will be spooky month aka Halloween so this sounds about the right time to read a book like this. I hope I’ll get out of this unscathed. *nervous laugh*

3.) „Call Down the Hawk“ by Maggie Stiefvater

44074162. sy475

I started this book ages ago but never really picked it up because there was always a library book that needed to be read first. Guess that’s the problem with the books you own, you rather read all the others first. XD I’ll rectify that injustice to this, no doubt, amazing book this fall though and my Yoongi and I will finally read this together! ❤

4.) „Wolfsong“ by T.J. Klune

29233804. sy475

I finally discovered T.J. Klune’s books this summer through my #Klunealong and I’m so going to pick up this one because everyone says it’s amazing. So far I loved all of his books and I’m sure I’ll adore this one too! I can’t wait to read about LGBTQIA+ werewolves and I’m so ready to be blown away by Klune’s writing again! This sounds like the perfect Halloween read for me!

5.) „All Systems Red“ by Martha Wells

32758901. sy475

I’m so intrigued by the premise of this book, you have no idea! XD A murderbot sounds really interesting and so many people said that this is funny so I’m totally here for it! I mean alone the fact that this AI calls itself „murderbot“ in it’s head and doesn’t like humans is already very promising. *lol* I’m ready to find out more. 😉

6.) „The Silvered Serpents“ by Roshani Chokshi

52796733. sy475

I really should FINISH. THIS. BOOK! *lol* Seriously I began to read it in April and it’s about time I take it off my „currently reading“! I guess you can tell that I was in a reading slump for a while because the mere fact I didn’t devour this says it all! I mean I love those characters and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on an ARC of this baby – which I never did btw – yet I still haven’t finished it. And that’s wrong! I’m going to love this book the way it deserves now and I’m determined to get it off my list in a month! XD

7.) „The Electric Heir“ by Victoria Lee

45439783

I loved the first book „The Fever King“ when I read it this year and I can’t wait to find out how this story continues. Dara and Noam own my heart and I really, really just want the best for my precious boys! I’m kinda worried I’ll end up suffering in this book though so uff. I guess that’s why I procrastinated again. XD But I will read it this fall!! I know it!

8.) „The Queen of Air and Darkness“ by Cassandra Clare

13541056. sy475

I promised Catherine that I’d read this book by the end of the year and I have every intention to go through with this promise! It’s about time I pick up Cassandra Clare’s books again and even though I know it will hurt, I still want to read this one! No, actually I NEED to read this one because damn, I need to find out what is going to happen to all my precious Blackthorns! T_T And my super precious Kieran which I love with all my heart! ❤

9.) „The King’s Men“ by Nora Sakavic

23594461

This book is going to hurt so bad! I just know it, but I still want to know how it all ends. I made it through book 2 so how bad can it get? (He asked knowing full well that it would be excruciating! *lool*) No, seriously, I’m not ready to read book three of this series but oh well, I guess I’ll never be so it won’t help to procrastinate forever. I just need to be brave and pick it up. I can do it! XD

10.) „This Savage Song“ by Victoria Schwab

40642172. sy475

This book has been on my TBR for ages and I finally want to read it. I mean it’s one of the few Schwab books I haven’t read yet and it’s been on my „Book List 2021“ as well. At least I think I put it on there. So yep, it’s time to find out what this series is about. Schwab can do nothing wrong with me, I just adore her books. ❤

Rankenzeile

So what about you? Which books are on your fall TBR and do we have some in common? Do you have special books you want to read for Halloween and if yes, are they very creepy? As you all know I’m a scaredy fox and I’m always looking for nice horror books that aren’t too heavy. Do you have any suggestions for me?

Talk to me and let me know!

And as always take care and stay healthy and safe! ❤

Top Ten Tuesday: Books on My Fall 2021 To-read List

TTT was created by The Broke and Bookish and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl (click here for upcoming TTT topics!).

Today’s Topic is: : Books on My Fall 2021 To-read List

1.) „Felix Ever After“ by Kacen Callender

48849624. sy475

I put „Felix Ever After“ on my September TBR and I intend to start it next week. I’ve been looking forward to read this for ages and I’m so glad my library had it in its shelves! It’s one of the few books I know about that actually have a transgender MC so I’m very excited to read Felix’s story. Also I’m absolutley in love with the cover! It’s so lively and realistically unapologetic!

2.) „Ninth House“ by Leigh Bardugo

52092876. sx318 sy475

To be honest I started this yesterday and I’m soo ready to read „Ninth House“! I’ve never read dark academia before and I heard that a lot of people would place this book in the genre. So far I’ve loved every book I read from Leigh so I’m pretty certain I’ll enjoy this one as well. It might be darker than the others but I’m definitely ready to explore this darker side of Leigh’s writing! 😉

3.) „Railhead“ by Philip Reeve

23532981

The Yoongi to my V spoke so much about this series that I couldn’t help but get curious about it. So when I recently discovered that my library actually has „Railhead“ I just couldn’t resist to borrow it. *lol* I’m sure Sabrina waited for me to read this ever since I spoke about it in my last library haul video on my BookTube channel! So yep, it’s autumn and I’m finally going to tackle this. XD

4.) „Rebel“ by Marie Lu

42121526

So I recently finished to read the Legend trilogy! And after THAT kind of ending I knew I couldn’t let it stand like that! I mean ARGHAADKLFASFJSAKDJS! Marie Lu always kills me with her endings and I just needed more after the finale of „Champion“. Thankfully I stumbled upon this in my library and I have every intention to read it and to hopefully get an ending I can live with. *lol*

5.) „The Gravity of Us“ by Phil Stamper

44281034

„The Gravity of Us“ has been on my radar for quite a while and the idea of a LGBTQ+ book that also tackles the topic of spacetravel is just too intriguing to let it go unnoticed! XD I already love the concept of this and I’m very curious how this is going to play out. Guess I’ll find out this autumn! *lol*

6.) „My Dark Vanessa“ by Kate Elizabeth Russell

55820574. sy475

Now here’s a book that doesn’t only have an intriguing topic but also a very serious one and I’m sure to read this will be tough. Still, I really want to know what’s all the fuss about. A lot of people said that it wasn’t their cup of tea and others said that „My Dark Vanessa“ was hard to read but that the way the story was told is brilliant. So yeah, the controversial opinions about it made me curious which caused this to land on my TBR. You know I can’t resist controversial books. *lol*

7.) „The Guest List“ by Lucy Foley

51933429

I really don’t know much about this book except of that it plays on an island and that it’s about a wedding. Oh yes, and that it is a mystery thriller. XD So I guess it’s fair to say that I know next to nothing about „The Guest List“. It was a goodreads choice winner of 2020 though and lots of people spoke about it back then. For me that’s enough reason to give it a try as a Halloween read! 😉

8.) „Mexican Gothic“ by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

53152636. sy475

And here comes my second Halloween read for this year. This entire book gives me a haunted house and cursed family vibe and I don’t know if you already know this about me, but I LOVE vibes like that! *lol* I’m the first one to read a book about a house with millions of hidden doors and even more hidden secrets about its owners. XD So yep, this is going to be fun. Hopefully.

9.) „Heartstopper: Volume Three“ by Alice Oseman

43449920. sy475

After all the darkness (or gloom and doom if you want to call it like that *lol*) I need something light and nothing is better than Alice Oseman’s „Heartstopper“! My library recently got volume three and of course I had to borrow it. I’m really looking forward to be reunited with Nick and Charlie! Because those two boys are precious!!! ❤ (Plus: The entire cast of „Heartstopper“ is amazing!!)

10.) „Love, Creekwood“ by Becky Albertalli

53239539. sy475

I wanted to read this for what feels like a lifetime and this autumn I finally decided to go for it! I need more of Simon and Blue and I’m really curious what happened after the two former books in the Simonverse! I guess this will be some sort of epilogue that will hopefully give me all the fluffy feels and will make me very happy. No high expectations and no pressure. Really, Becky! *lol*

Finally Fall Book Tag

Hey there, my lovelies!

I was tagged for this by Riddhi @ Whispering Stories and I want to give her not only a HUGE thanks but also an even bigger shout-out for being such a sweet blogger! I found a lot of interesting other bloggers through her blog post so please check it out and maybe you’ll find other amazing bloggers too! 😉 Also: Me actually doing a seasonal tag during the right season?!! I know it’s unheard of but there’s a first time for everything! *lol* ;-P

Finally Fall Book Tag

  • In fall, the air is crisp and clear: Name a book with a vivid setting.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
9361589

I really loved this book and it was such an amazing journey! So creative and beautifully written! Also the world building and magic! Just great! I think I rarely read about such a vivid setting and the only other book I can think of that might play in the same kind of league is „Strange the Dreamer“. XD

  • Nature is beautiful… but also dying: Name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.
    We Are Okay
28243032

I love this book with all my heart because it captures loss and grief like no other book I ever read. Such a beautiful and touching book! I think it shows that there are many facets of grief and that it doesn’t always have to be loud and screaming but that it can also be quiet and so painful that you can’t seem to be able to speak about it. >_<

  • Fall is back to school season: Share a non-fiction book that taught you something new.
536188

My hubby loves this book and I got curious. Don’t tell him, but I think it’s actually pretty awesome. *lol* There went a lot of effort into the details of „Man-Of-War“ and the black humour you can find in every corner of this book made it a really enjoyable read. If you like history, ships and want to know how they were operated this might be a good fit for you! 🙂

  • In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend some time with the people we love: Name a fictional family/household/friend-group that you’d like to be part of. The Shadowhunters
12788037. sy475

Oh boy, there are so many but since I’m currently reading „Clockwork Prince“ I’ll go with the Shadowhunters! Just to see Jem and Will interact would make me so damn happy, also I love and adore the friendships and relatinships in TMI and TDA as well. The Blackthorns will always have a special place in my heart and yeah… well you get the idea! *lol*

  • The colourful leaves are piling up on the ground: Show us a pile of fall coloured spines!
45158895. sy475    48849624. sy475    1473780

I hope that’s enough?! 😉

  • Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside: Share a book wherein someone is telling a story.
    Moby Dick
153747

I know this might be an interesting choice but hear me out! „Moby Dick“ is probably the embodiment of a book in which someone is telling a story. I mean it begins with the famous words: „Call me Ishmael.“ and is told from Ishmael’s POV. Also it’s a great classic and I learned a lot about whales and the sea while I read it.

  • The nights are getting darker: Share a dark, creepy read.
34076952

I read this in October and it was amazing! So many awesome, dark and creepy fairy tales! It was a lot of fun to read them and they were really good. Plus for a scaredy fox like me this was an awesome Halloween read. It was creepy and dark but not all too much!

  • The days are getting colder: Name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody’s cold and rainy day.
19547856

„Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda“ will always warm my heart! ❤ I paged through this in no time and it’s such a sweet read. I could reread this forever and maybe I’ll actually reread it soon. I miss precious and relatable Simon and heaven knows we all need a little bit of warmth and happiness in our lives!

  • Fall returns every year: Name an old favourite that you’d like to return to soon.
    Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr
305234

I even put this on my Book List 2020 and I’m so going to read it soon! I love this faerie series to bits and pieces and I adored its characters long before Maas’s Rhysand, Tamlin and Feyre even became a thing. This is the first faerie series I ever read and it will always hold a special place in my heart. 🙂 Irial and Niall!!! ❤ My precious babies!

  • Fall is the perfect time for cozy reading nights: Share your favourite cozy reading “accessories”!

Okay, so that’s definitely no typical reading accessoire but I need them for my reading like I need the air to breathe. *lol* I mark book quotes with them and I’d be totally lost without those Post-its. XD I’d never be able to write my reviews without them and they don’t hurt my precious books. Once I wrote down the quote I just remove and reuse them. 😉

Rankenzeile

This was a lot of fun! Maybe I should try to do seasonal tags in their actual season more often? Nahhh, let’s stick with breaking the habit! *lol* ;-P I’m glad I made that exception though. XD So thank you once again for tagging me Riddhi! 🙂

I’m pretty late with this so I’ll only tag a few people! As always you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to. (I’d always love to read your answers though. ;P )

I TAG:

Brianna @ Brianna’s Books And Randomness
Maya @ Her Bookish Desires
Hollie @ My Thing About Books
Katie @ The Storybook Sisters
Sabrina @ Notes From A Paper Plane Nomad
Elli @ AceReader

I hope you guys will enjoy doing this tag!
Take care and stay healthy!

LIGHT A SCENTED CANDLE

A book that is lighthearted

2292384__SY475_

The first category and it’s already a tough one! *lol* I’m such a sucker for serious and sad books that rip out your heart and leave you empty and broken, so this is actually kind of a challenge for me. Mhmm… the only series I can come up with is Janet Evanovichs „Stephanie Plum“ series! XD I just love those books! Stephanie is basically a disaster on two legs and if that wouldn’t already be enough she’s having two hot love interests that make it very hard to choose! (Even for the reader!!!) Those books are a lot of fun and always make me laugh! And the antics of Grandma Mazur? They are epic!  Highly recommended if you want something light and funny! 😉

Unbenannt4png

DRINK PUMPKIN SPICED LATTES

A book that has a lot of hype

3

Harry Potter! 😛 The hype is real! *lol* Especially in autumn! This series might be well known and the last book „The Deathly Hallows“ hit the stores in 2007 but the hype is still going! And honestly, fall is the perfect season to sit down with your HP book, drink some coffee and enjoy Hogwarts while it’s cold outside! No wonder I recently started to re-read the series again. ❤

Unbenannt4png

GO APPLE PICKING

A book that has fun friendships

39704614__SY475_

I recently read „What If It’s Us“ and I absolutely adored the friendships in this book. Ben and Dylan were such amazing besties and I could relate to them so much. Plus I liked how realistic all those friendships were portrayed! They argued, they hugged, they laughed and they cried together. They had troubles dealing with each other after there developed relationships in their circles of friends and they had even more problems trying to navigate through the shipwrecks of breakups. But through all that they still stuck together and this was amazing! ❤ If you want to read my review you can do it here!

Unbenannt4png

WEAR A COZY SWEATER

A book that warms your heart

13449693

Well, technically I could have also chosen this for the fun friendships but I think it fits even better in this category. „The Raven Boys“ is one of my comfort reads and no matter how often I read it, it always warms my heart! ❤ This series is just awesome and I love everything about it. From the characters to the plot, from the atmosphere to the friendships, from the magic to the quotes! Just everything! Best cozy read ever! 😛

Unbenannt4png

BAKE CINNAMON ROLLS

A character who’s a talented chef

18584855

The only book that always comes to mind when I’m asked a question like this is „Heartless“. Catherine is an amazing chef and she makes the best and most delicious food ever! XD Aside from her I can’t think of any other book that would feature a talented chef though. Where are all the nice amateur chefs in books?

Unbenannt4png

JUMP INTO A PILE OF LEAVES

A book that made you jump for joy

41150487__SY475_

I’m totally with Miri when it comes to this one! „Red, White & Royal Blue“ had me bouncing around my living room like a happy ferret! This book didn’t only make me happy but also gave me hope and it was perfection in every possible way! I loved how Alex and Henry fell in love, how their relationship developed, how intense they felt and how much they were willing to risk for a life together! But what I probably loved the most was the support they got and that this book was so diverse! ❤ Such a great read with a very important message! 😀

Unbenannt4png

This tag was a lot of fun and reminded me of all those comfy autumn books I love to reread when the cold season starts once again! ❤

I tag:

Melanie @ TBR and BeyondMandy @ Book Princess ReviewsAshley @ Ashes Book & Bobs, Lisa @ I got lost in books, Evelyn @ Evelyn readsElaine @ Elaine Howlin – Literary BloggerAlexia @ Right Writing Words
