The Smaugette Award!

Hey there, my lovelies!

I got tagged for this amazing Award by Brianna @ Brianna’s Books And Randomness and Emma @ A Few Chapters ‚til Love! As always this was a while ago and as usually I only got to it now. *lol* Anyway! What I want to say is the following: For some reason I love the idea of this Award, I mean „The Smaugette Award“! What a nice name! And then look at the awesome Smaug picture! How cool is that? XD This is definitely one of the coolest Awards I ever came across and Beck did an amazing job! 😉

This said I want to thank Brianna and Emma for thinking of me when they did this Award! They are both amazing (and super lovely) bloggers and if you don’t know their blogs already you should follow their links! Now. I mean it! ;-P Okay, let’s do this!

A Smaugette is… I don’t even know. I just came up with it randomly like eight months ago and I don’t know why I did? I just did. Anyway, this tag is for people who are generally amazing. And that’s all of y’all.

RuLeS:

  1. Tag the creator (meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!)
  2. Make sure you have the rules and smaugette definition in your post!
  3. Tag 10 fantastic friends you believe are worthy of this prEsTigIoUs AwArD
  4. Answer the questions I have!
  5. Make sure you put the award in the post so people can bask in its fabulousness
  6. Give them a new thing to try (if they want) and (if you want) try the one I’ve given you!

What I was Supposed to Try:

„Write about something, anything, for at least ten minutes a day for a week. After the weeks ends, choose the piece of writing you’re proudest of and share it in a blog post. It can be anything, from a single sentence to the start of a novel, anything you want. Get out of your comfort zone a little bit and be creative!“

This prompt made me super creative and I even came up with a plotline for a book. Maybe I’ll write the beginning of it as a blog post. Right now my creativity is flowing so everything is possible.

What I want You to Try:

I’m such a sucker for poetry and have been writing poems for years. So I’d like you to try to write a poem. It can be short or long or some sort of rap. Whatever floats your boat! You decide how you want to go about it. 😉 And who knows, maybe you’ll even have some fun?

1. What is a random hill you would die on?

(If you don’t know what this means, it’s basically something totally random that you would fight for.) BTS are a family and they don’t fake their friendship for their fans! You can’t fake a friendship like that! Their closeness and their familiar friendship is real!!! Period! Fight me!

2. What are you being for Halloween?

Well, Halloween is still a long time away but I love to dress up so just let me think about it for a second. XD I think I’d like to go as a book character. The only question is as whom? Maybe a shadowhunter? That would be fun. Or a faerie?! (I’d love to dress up as Cardan hahaha) Mhmm… I’ll give that some thought and you’ll know when it’s Halloween! *lol* ;-P

3. Tell us about your favorite article of clothing and maybe(??) include a picture?

My favourite article of clothing… Mhmmm… I think that would be my BTS Hoodie. Let me see if I can find a picture of me wearing it.  There you go!

20210209_150407

4. What’s your favorite Thanos quote? Palpatine quote? Any quote?

“I know what it’s like to lose. To feel so desperately that you’re right, yet to fail nonetheless.” – Thanos

I really hated what Thanos did, but at the same time I had some grudging respect for him and his view of the world. His character was so morally grey and super well done. I couldn’t hate him but I really, really desperately wanted to. 😉

5. Who or what inspires you?

What a loaded question! Well, prepare for a long answer. What inspires me? My family, my friends, BTS, nature, life with all it’s ups and downs. The good and the bad times, the quiet and the loud seconds of my days, my darkest moments as well as my brightest, life in general. Every experience I make, every breath I take, every second I live and feel and hope and dream! ❤ Life is beautiful, you just have to accept it with all it’s good and bad sides.

Umm… so in short: Our world and the people in it inspire me and will do so until I take my final breath. 😉

6. What are your top five favorite memes?

50+ Funniest Game Of Thrones Memes Ever

K-Drama Life | Kdrama funny, Drama memes, Kdrama memes
  • Harry Potter memes | Fandom

7. Who is your favorite fictional dragon, (besides Smaug of course)?

I really don’t know all too many dragons but I think I might go with Incendiu, the dragon from Melika Dannese Hick’s „Deadmarsh Fey“. He was kickass! 😀

8. Top five favorite books right now?

I’m really glad that it says „top five favorite books right now“ *lol* because that way I can just go with the flow without overthinking my answer. ;-P Those are all books I read recently btw.

  • If This Gets Out by Sophie Gonzales (I had the privilege to read it as an ARC)
  • The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black (because Cardan!!! ❤ )
  • I Was Born for This by Alice Oseman
  • House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
  • The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
9. What is your ideal novel?

I’m a sucker for enemies-to-lovers, found family, bandlife, music/dance and the YA/fantasy genre. So everything that will include at least one of those tropes or be in the genre will make me happy as long as it’s done right. 😉

10. What memory would you think of to cast a Patronus?

This is a really deep question and I thought long and hard about it. The strongest happy memory I have so far is the birth of my kid. Nothing. Really NOTHING beats that moment of happiness when you hold this little new life in your hands. (Well, the panic that hits right after when you’re afraid you’ll do something wrong is real too, but we won’t talk about this now. Happy memories, right?! *lol*)

I Tag:

Of course you don’t have to do the Award if you don’t want to but I thought you might enjoy doing it! 😉

Rankenzeile

This Award was really interesting and I loved the questions! Very creative, unique and thought-provoking. 😉 Thank you so much for tagging me Brianna and Emma! As always it took me a while to get to it but I’m glad I finally went for it! Also I hope you enjoyed my answers! Some of those questions were actually kinda hard to answer. *lol* This said:

Take care and stay healthy and safe!

SASSY Saturday

SASSY Saturday

Hey there my lovelies!

Welcome back to another round of my montly blog meme „SASSY Saturday“!

How does it work? Well, that’s easy! 😉

All you have to do is to follow those three golden rules:

1. Credit the creator of this tag (The Sassy Library Fox) and link back. (so I can see all your amazing answers!)
2. Answer the 5 questions below!
3. AND enjoy doing the blog meme! 😛

„SASSY Saturday“ is planned to be a monthly meme but if you want to do it more often feel free to go for it! This meme was created to get to know other bloggers, their new obsessions and to reflect on your own last month! Above all it was created to have fun though! 😉 If you want you can also use the banner I created! This said let’s head to the good part:

S – Series you loved this month

The Tale of Nokdu: Okay, it’s official: Hwarang got me hooked on k-dramas! Fictional historical k-dramas I may add! Gosh, I loved this story so much! It’s about Nok-du who was raised by his father not knowing who he is and when his family gets attacked he finally wants to get some answers and follows the assassin to a widow village. But only widows are allowed in there so he dresses up as one in order to find out who wants to kill him and why. And this is only the beginning, my friends! AHHH! This series gave me all the feels! At first I had to laugh, then I was shocked and by the end of this series I was constantly in tears! This was amazing!!! I’m still blown away! AHHH the feels! ❤

highlykdramatic.tumblr.com - Tumbex

A – Author you discovered

33950895. sy475

Sylvain Neuvel – Sleeping Giants

This book was sold to me as some sort of „Illuminae“ and even though it’s a whole lot different than „Illuminae“ the interview style of the story is definitely similar. Still, this was not what I expected it to be, but it was at least as intriguing as the „Illuminae Files“! In the end I read this pretty fast and I think „Sleeping Giants“ actually managed to get me back into sci-fi! And the best thing?! There are still two more books left! 😀

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

Isak Danielson – Power

There’s something about this song that got me! Maybe it’s because the style kind of reminds me of Hozier? I dunno! What I DO know is that the lyrics are great and that the combination of the music and the atmosphere fit perfectly to the songtext! ❤ Also Isak’s voice is great!

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

My sudden obsession with k-dramas! *lol* Like seriously. I started with „Hwarang“, continued with „Nokdu“ and now I’m so deep into the k-drama world I can’t even get out of it anymore. And to be completely honest I don’t want to. ;-P I’m fine in my k-drama rabbit hole and will make myself comfortable in there.

Also: At the end of June I reached a 100 subscribers on my BookTube channel and actually got my own URL now. Which is amazing! So thank you to everyone who’s also following me over there! ❤ You guys are amazing and I can’t thank you enough for all the support and kind words I got over the years! Without your constant encouragement I certainly would have never even thought about starting my own channel! ❤ This said: If you ever wanted to ask me something you can do it now! I’m celebrating my 100 subscribers with a Q&A and will answer your questions in a video! So don’t hesitate to drop me a comment and fire away. 😉

Y – Your fave blog post of another blogger

Please keep giving me all the f/f romances by Elli @ AceReader

I just loved that blog post and was so happy to discover new f/f romances. I still think there aren’t enough of those out there in the world and I sometimes have the feeling that they are drowned out by all the great m/m releases. We definitely need more amazing f/f couples in our lives and Elli’s blog post was amazing! ❤

Book Recommendations: Pride Month Edition – 10 Books with Trans, Non-Binary and Genderqueer Rep to Read During Pride Month! by CW @ The Quiet Pond

Since June was pride month I decided to feature two of my fave blog posts this month and this one also made it on my list! I’ve been following „The Quiet Pond“ (what an amazing blog name!!! <3) for quite a while now and they always have amazing content and well-thought-out blog posts. During pride month they even went for a Pride Month Edition in which they introduced lots of books with different LGBTQ+ reps and I lived and breathed for it! If you don’t know them already you should so click that link and discover their blog!!!

What do you think about „SASSY Saturday“? Would you like to join the fun? Did you ever hear of „Sleeping Giants“? Which kind of series are you obsessed with at the moment? Any k-drama fans out there? *lol* Did you celebrate pride month as well and if yes how?!

Hugs’n’Kisses OR Dismissed by the Missus/Messrs

hugs'n'kisses or dismissed by the missus

Hey there, my lovelies!

The last time I did this was about two months ago and since I’m currently reading the book I decided to „hug and read“ I figured it would be time to go for another round. I’m not doing this meme as often as I’d like to but I guess I can do it at least once every two months. That way I’ll still be able to reduce my TBR and feel no pressure to do so. This said: Let’s go for it! =)

The rules:

1.) Link back to the original post @ The Sassy Library Fox (I really want to know if it works out for you and I’m curious about your book choices! ;-))

2.) Choose 3 random numbers from 1 to the end of your TBR list. (In my case it are 3 random numbers from 1 – 295, so for instance I’ll pick 43, 164 and 214)

3.) Take a look at the 3 books on your TBR. (43 – For a Few Demons More, 164 – Not Your Sidekick, 214 – Kushiel’s Dart)

4.)  Then you follow the rhyme:

One to hug and read, (Kushiel’s Dart: I’ve owned this book for about 2 years and I didn’t read it because I held out hope that my friend would buddy read it with me. After two years the chances we’ll actually read this are super slim though so I decided to just go for it. It’s time to move on and to finally read this!)

One to kiss and keep, (For a Few Demons More: This is book 5 in a series and I’m pretty certain I’ll continue to read it once my library opens up again and I get my hands on an English copy. *lol*)

One to dismiss and weep! (Not Your Sidekick: I’d usually be the first one to jump at the opportunity to read a LGBTQ+ book, but a lot of my GR friends didn’t really enjoy this and the ratings are pretty low. For now I’ll dismiss it and weep. I might come back to it one day though. Never say never.)

5.) Read the book you hugged and kept within a month and repeat the process as often and as frequently as you like. (I’ll do this once a month and hopefully it will help me to reduce my TBR ;-P)

Rankenzeile

So I’m currently at 295 books and still far away from my goal of 275. I know I’ll get there one day though! I’m determined to reduce my TBR even though publishers and authors make it really hard to fight against the flood. *lol* If I can make it under 290 this year I’ll definitely count it as a win. XD

Mystery Blogger Award! =)

Hey there, my lovelies!

It’s an established fact that I’m a snail so here I am finally doing „The Mystery Blogger Award“. *lol* I actually got nominated for it thrice which was such a huge surprise that I’m still not over it. XD The three bloggers who nominated me for this award are Mayu @ Bookshelf Life, Anna @ Anna’s Book Nook and Riddhi @ Whispering Stories. I can’t thank you guys enough for nominating me and thinking me worthy of the honor! ❤ If you don’t know their awesome blogs already you should definitely take a closer look!!! They are amazing!!

This said I decided to answer all their questions in one go because if not it might take me even longer to get to them! And believe me when I say that you don’t want that! *lol* You might grow a beard to your knees, write an entire book, get old and wrinkled or have a kid before I get to it. No kidding. Well, okay, I might be. *lol* Anyway! Let’s do this!

What is the Mystery Blogger Award?

The Mystery Blogger Award is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging; and they do it with so much love and passion.

This award was originally created by Okoto @ Okoto Enigma’s Blog.

The Rules

  • Put the award logo/image on your blog.
  • List the rules.
  • Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Mention the creator (Okoto Enigma) and provide a link as well.
  • Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.
  • Answer the questions provided by whoever nominated you.
  • Nominate 10 – 20 people.
  • Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog.
  • Ask your nominees any 5 questions.
  • Share a link to your best post(s).

Three Facts About Me

Okay, I think I can do that.

  1. I’m mixed-handed. 😉 I don’t know why, it’s always been like that. *shrugs*
  2. I love coffee and Chai Tea Latte. (Oh gods, now I’m craving it even more…)
  3. I like to walk around barefoot and I’m the first one to get rid of my shoes when I see the ocean or green lawn. (Pretty random, I know. *lol*)

My Best Blog Posts

The BTS ‚BE‘ Book Tag – Because I love BTS and this was the first time I did a tag on my BookTube channel! 😀

The LGBTQ+ Rep Book Tag (Original!) – This is the first tag I ever created and of course I made a tag about something that is very important to me! ❤ I’ll definitely do it this June as well. 😉

Mayu’s Questions:

1. Why did you start your blog?

Oh, I see! You bring in the big guns. *lol* Well, there were many reasons but the most important one was that I wanted to have a space in which I could write my super long reviews without any restrictions. Haha! It might sound stupid but the Goodreads word limit was actually the main reasons why I went for my blog. XD That and the fact that I wanted to have my own space in the internet where I could talk about bookish things and publish my poems. 😉

2. What is your favourite book to movie adaptation? And why?

There are a couple of great book to movie adaptions but I think my favourite will always be Harry Potter. As for the reason why? I think they did an amazing job with the character cast and all those special effects and even though they didn’t always hold to the books they still managed to convey the most important plot points. XD Come to think of it the same applies to LOTR too. *lol*

3. What kind of posts do you love writing the most?

I love to write my reviews but I also enjoy doing tags. I guess it might be a tie between those two. They are both fun in their own way! 😀

4. I am a full time student. What about you, what do you do?

I work as an assistant/admin at an NGO and am a full-time parent. 😉 Well, and obviously I blog and have my own YouTube channel as well. I always joke that my blog and channel are my second job. *lol* I just don’t get paid for it. I do it because I love to do it, which in its own way is some sort of reward I suppose.

5. Name a thing that can get your book lover card revoked.

I don’t think there is anything that could get my book lover card revoked. I’m a book lover through and through. ;-P

Anna’s Questions:

1. What is your favorite book from your childhood?

I loved „Fiery Frederica“ by Christine Nöstlinger and „The Little Witch“ by Otfried Preußler. I don’t know how often my Mum or my grandma had to read them to me. *lol*

2. If you could only pick one hobby to entertain yourself with for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Oh, boy!! That’s a tough question! I couldn’t choose for the life of me! I love music and I love books and dancing! Ahhhh!!! I can’t choose. It’s impossible. >_<

3. You are designing your dream home. What is the one thing that you must have in it?

There are actually TWO things I must have in it and that’s a HUGE library (surprise, surprise. *lol* ;-P) and a big kitchen with a kitchen island. XD I’m a real connoisseur so good food and lots of great books are absolutely necessary. Haha!

4. If you could remake one Disney movie, what would it be and why?

I liked all of the Disney movies so I wouldn’t want to remake any of them. I think they are all great in their own way and have a good and important message. If you’d have said musicals I would have had a couple of ideas though.

5. Who is your favorite super hero?

Just one? *lol* Ahhh, Anna you don’t make it easy. XD I love morally grey super heroes so I’m more the fan of Batman and Iron Man. Spiderman is great too, but he definitely belongs to the good boys.

Riddhi’s Questions:

1. What is one Christmas themed book you want to read this year?

Since I’m doing this award really late I have about a year to figure that one out, but I think I might actually read „Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares“ around Christmas this year. I saw the Netflix series last year during Advent season and decided I wanted to read the book too. 😀

2. What is your fatal flaw? (Yes, you can take a quiz to find out)

I took a quiz and it gave me this answer: „You got: Other. you are a special person.“ Hahahahahaha! OMG! What does this even mean? *lol*

3. What is you Hogwarts house?

It’s Gryffindor! But apparently I’m like Harry Potter and have a very pronounced Slytherin side as well. *lol* At least the entire analysis of the Pottermore test showed that it was a neck-and-neck race and Gryffindor won. XD Must be my cruel and cunning faerie ancestry! ;-P

4. Who is your godly parent?

According to the readriordan.com quiz it’s Athena?! Guess that makes Annabeth my sister which is pretty cool. =)

5. Name three authors whose books you read this year for the first time.

Emily Henry („Beach Read“)
Lev. A.C. Rosen („Jack of Hearts“)
Brigid Kemmerer („A Curse so Dark and Lonely“)

I enjoyed all of them as well! *lol* ;-P

Rankenzeile

I Nominate:

Brianna @ Brianna’s Books and Randomness
Beck @ Ghost With No Cares
Elli @ AceReader
Lia @ Chain of Novels
Sabrina @ Notes From a Paper Plane Nomad
El @ Papertea & Bookflowers
Juli @ Ich Lese
Leah @ Leah’s Books
Readingtonic
Micky & Hollis @ A Take from Two Cities
Evelyn @ Evelyn reads

Of course you don’t have to do the award but I’d love to see your answers and your blog post! XD

My Questions:

1. If you could only take three things to a deserted island, what would you take with you?
2. What is your favourite flower?
3. What was your favourite tv show as a kid? (And can you still sing the opening song? *lol*)
4. If you’d have to play a role in a movie what would you rather like to be: The superhero that saves the day or the villain that tries to cause destruction? And why?! XD
5. How many languages do you speak and which ones? =)

Rankenzeile

This was a lot of fun to do! I almost forgot how interesting those awards can be! *lol* I hope you enjoyed my answers and I’m looking forward to read yours! I’m sorry it took me so long to get to this Award but I got to it… eventually. *lol* Thanks again for nominating me and for asking all those amazing questions! =)

And as always: Take care! And stay healthy and safe!

S – Series you loved this month

Ginny & Georgia: This was quite a series. It felt like some weird mixture of „The Gilmore Girls“ meets „Pretty Little Liars“ with a little touch of WTH? *lol* I mean Ginny and Georgia definitely don’t have a lot in common with Rory and Lorelai but I could see some parallels like the young mom that’s cool and the silent broody kid that wants to fit in. XD Still, this series had dark secrets and that made it rather „Pretty Little Liars“ than „Gilmore Girls“. ;-P

Tiny Pretty Things: I always knew ballet was tough but boy, this series was an entirely different level of tough. *lol* These ballet dancers play dirty and they all have their tricks to get their place in the spotlight. Competitiveness is more than just merely a word and some of those students would do everything for a solo. So that leaves us with the question of all questions: Who pushed Cassie from the roof? XD

A – Author you discovered

43597287. sy475

Emily Henry – Beach Read

This was something entirely different than I expected but I still paged through it and enjoyed it immensely. Emily Henry managed to mix some serious topics with romance and a dash of humour and I think she did it more than just well. XD I’ll definitely watch out for her other books now.

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

Olivia Rodrigo – Drivers License

This song is really slow and sad and it gives me all the feels! March was a tough month so I kind of listened to slow music? Guess I’m one of those people that show their mood through their music song choices. *lol*

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

How much I love and care about my online friends. I got really close with Jello and Sabrina and I can’t even remember my life without them. I mean I never met them in person and probably never will but they’ve both become such an important part of my life. ❤ I’m so glad I found such great friends and I hope our friendships will stay strong for the rest of our lives. @ My Yoongi: I want to meet your kids one day! *LOL* ;-P 💜

Songuage #13: Film Out – BTS by Pannaga @ The Tomboy’s Attic

Okay, so technically this post was written by Pannaga at the beginning of April but due to my health issues I was really bad at blog hopping in March and decided to go for a recent blog post I loved. Which brings me right to Pannaga’s! *lol* She’s an ARMY like me and her reaction to the new BTS MC „Film Out“ was so relatable that it made me happy and caused me to laugh! XD So if you like BTS you should definitely check out her blog and give her some love! 😀

Above all it was created to have fun though! 😉 If you want you can also use the banner I created! This said let’s head to the good part:

S – Series you loved this month

Fate – The Winx Saga! Luckily it’s been a while I watched the original series and read the comics. So I don’t remember all that much and while watching the series I got a feeling that this is actually working in my favour. *lol* (For instance I vaguely remember that Bloom had shoulder length straight red hair and no long red curls. XD) So I really found myself enjoying this tv series even though I’m pretty sure that it doesn’t have a lot in common with the original. Okay, I admit Bloom was a little bit too reckless, impulsive and rebellious for my taste but I definitely loved Terra and Musa! ❤

A – Author you discovered

39689878. sy475

Nic Stone – This was the first time I read a book from her and I really liked that it caused me to think. This was definitely a thought-proving read and if you’re looking for something similar to „The Hate U Give“ I can totally recommend „Dear Martin“! They have similar topics but they are very different in their approach and I really liked this. 🙂 Also because this topic is still important and relevant: #BlackLivesMatter

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

Dua Lipa – Physical

My sister is the reason why I love this song so much now. *lol* She wanted us to dance to this together on my birthday and well, you all know me, I love to dance so I said: Okay, I’m game. XD Little did I know that this song isn’t only earworm material but also very exhausting to dance to as well. We gave it our all and were really happy afterwards. Tired but happy. It’s been a while we were able to dance together but now that it’s allowed to meet another household again we just went for it. (We all got tested before meeting up too. Better safe than sorry! 😉 )

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

There were actually two things that surprised me in February:

1.) I reached 400 followers on my blog and since this was my longterm goal for 2021 I’m kind of… overwhelmed? *lol* I really need to celebrate this somehow! For now: Thank you guys so much for following me and for liking my blog and content! ❤

2.) I started my own booktube channel in February and no one is more surprised about this than I am. *lol* Like seriously, what am I even doing? XD My sister and my brother-in-law have way too much faith in me but well, I guess I’ll just try it out and see where this is heading. If you’re interested in my YouTube channel you can take a closer look at it here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5JIlW3yzWkOH0PFewOqdbw

And before the question even arises: Yes, I’ll continue with my blog on wordpress! My channel won’t kill my blog, if anything it will be some sort of extension of it. 😉

Yes, my Yoongi! This time it’s you in the spotlight! ;-P Sabrina who I affectionately call Yoongi because she’s the Yoongi to my V is one hell of an amazing artist and I love her drawings to bits and pieces! The picture she made for J-Hope’s birthday is amazing and I love all the colours and details she put into it! ❤ This must have been a hell of work but she’s so modest about it! SASSY Saturday

SASSY Saturday

Hey there my lovelies!

Welcome back to the tenth round of my montly blog meme „SASSY Saturday“!

Bridgerton! Okay, to say I loved it might be a little bit too much, but I definitely enjoyed watching it. There’s something to be said about English Ladies and Gentlemen that court them. *lol* The scandals, the love affairs, the little gestures no one is supposed to see. Still, I’m really glad I don’t live in 1813 because I probably would have died if I’d have been forced to marry a guy I didn’t love. Especially because my only purpose would have been to bear him children and urgh… can you even imagine a person like me living in times like those? XD Nope? I can’t either! So it’s nice on the TV screen but it can definitely stay there. ;-P

A – Author you discovered

40197454. sy475

„A Curse So Dark and Lonely“ by Brigid Kemmerer! This was another „The Beauty and the Beast“ retelling and I really enjoyed reading it. With a storyline that started in modern DC and ended in a parallell world named Emberfall this had quite a unique spin and even though the MCs didn’t persuade me completely: Grey the side character certainly did! I love him and I can’t wait to read book two! =) Also we had a cerebral palsy rep in here and I think it was nicely done.

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

D’Angelo – Unshaken

I really had to think long and hard to come up with a song that isn’t from BTS because I’m currently once again obsessed with their music, *lol* This said, I really like this song as well. It’s the soundtrack from a Game named „Red Dead Redemption“ and according to my spouse this game was amazing. XD  (Apparently it’s some sort of cowboy/bandit game and you’re one of them.)

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

I guess by now you all know that I’m ARMY so I wanted to do something fun and took a „Which BTS Member Are You?“ Quiz on BuzzFeed a couple of days ago. *lol* I really love all of them and can never decide for just one member but when it comes to characters I thought I’d probably turn out to be like Jimin, J-Hope or JK. So I was really kind of pleasantly surpised when it said I’m like Tae. XD

„V

You’re just like V! Similar to Taehyung, you’re very open and friendly. You’re a kindhearted individual whose free spirited nature easily attracts people from all over the world. You’re beautiful on the inside and outside, so continue to be your amazing, friendly self!

Big Hit Entertainment“

Source: „Which BTS Member Are You?“ @ BuzzFeed

This is actually kind of funny because we definitely share the nickname „V.“ I don’t know about all the sweet things that were said in this though. I mean they are obviously true when it comes to Tae. ❤ (sweet boy that he is! XD) But I’m not sure if they fit me too. *lol*

Y – Your fave blog post of another blogger

Lessons from the Hedgehog @ The Library Lady Travels

I’ve been following „The Library Lady Travels“ for quite a while and I really enjoy her content. Since she’s a travel blogger her posts have become pretty scarce due to our current circumstances, but that doesn’t mean that she stopped posting them altogether. Every once in a while I get a gem like this on my feed and I’m very glad The Library Lady still writes. 😀 So if you read this, please take a look at her blog and send her some love! ❤

SASSY Saturday

Hey there my lovelies!

Welcome back to the eight round of my new montly blog meme „SASSY Saturday“!

How does it work? Well, that’s easy! 😉

1. Credit the creator of this tag (The Sassy Library Fox) and link back. (so I can see all your amazing answers!)

Above all it was created to have fun though! 😉 If you want you can also use the banner I created! This said let’s head to the good part:

S – Series you loved this month

„Dash & Lily“! I’m so glad Netflix is still going strong because during this second lockdown I definitely need some series and movie distractions. *lol* This said „Dash & Lily“ was great! I loved that they got to know each other through a book and the back and forth between them was fun! XD I didn’t know this was based on a book but once I figured it out I did my research and found out that Rachel Cohn and David Levithan wrote this together. Considering the cuteness I’m not surprised. ;P I think I might give it a try when I’m in the mood for Christmas cheer. For now I can really recommend the series! It’s very sweet and gives you all those happy giddy feelings. =)

A – Author you discovered

39679076

Erin A. Craig! I’m currently reading „House of Salt and Sorrows“ and I think I’m on my way of becoming a huge Craig fan. The dark and gloomy atmosphere of this book is just amazing and I love the world building so far! I can’t believe this is actually her first book because damn this is great!! So yes, Erin A. Craig is THE new author I discovered last month! 😉

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

Billie Eilish – when the party’s over

I know a lot of people say this and I’ll say it too: I love Billie Eilish and her songs! They are all so meaningful and her voice! Boy, this girl has such an amazing voice! ❤ „when the party’s over“ is a really beautiful song and you can’t help but hurt with her. I think we all made experiences like that and Billie manages to convey them in such a careful and gentle manner. I can really recommend to watch the video Billie Eilish carpool karaoke with James Corden! It’s amazing and captures Billie, her life, her songs and how she recorded them (in her own room btw!!!) so well!

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

November was a very sad and tough month for Austria. We didn’t just go into another lockdown but we also grieved. On November 2nd terrorists attacked people in the first district of Vienna and our whole country was upset, angry, confused and twitchy. Still, no matter how hard the blow, despite all the restrictions and keeping our distance in times of Covid, we still managed to give each other strength and the solidarity of the people in my country was overwhemling. ❤ I’ve never been so proud to be Austrian and I loved that everyone was taking care of each other. So yes, the strong solidarity surprised me but it also gave me hope for the future and made me very proud. 😀

The BTS ‚BE‘ Book Tag + song commentary by Sabrina @ Notes From A Paper Plane Nomad

I love it when people create original tags and Sabrina’s original tags are some of the best! ❤ I recently did her „The School for Good and Evil“ book tag (which was a lot of fun) and this month she went for an original BTS ‚BE‘ Book Tag! Since I outed myself as a BTS fan by liking her TTT about them she tagged me for this one too and of course I’ll go for it! (I just don’t know when… sometimes it takes ages for me to get to certain tags because as you all know I’m a snail. *lol*) Anyway! I’ll definitely do this one and I hope you’ll give it a try too! Sabrina deserves all the love so if you’re a BTS fan too: What are you even waiting for?!! 😛

The Sunshine Blogger Award

I was nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by Brianna @ Biranna’s Books and Randomness back in May and I’m so sorry I’m only getting to it now. XD Thank you so much for the tag Brianna! If I keep up my snail pace you guys will read my summer tags in winter. Might be a nice change to all those seasonal tags though so *shrugs*. ;-P Anyway, let’s do the Award! XD

Rules

  • Thanks the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the sunshine blogger award in your post/or on your blog.

Brianna’s Questions:

1. When did you learn to read?

That’s such an interesting and relevant question but funnily enough I can’t remember anyone ever asking me when I learned to read. XD And to answer it: I think I learned it in kindergarten, well at least the basics. I could read books on my own when I was in primary school. As soon as I learned to read, I basically read everything. From signs to street names, posters, etc. And of course books. Plenty of books. *lol*

2. What is one book you want to be turned into a movie/t.v. series?

23395680. sy475

I’d love to see „The Illuminae Files“ as a movie series! I’m sure it would be amazing! I mean the format already reads like some sort of screenplay and if they’d follow the books and wouldn’t deviate all too much from the plot or characters this would be great! Just to see all the action and those beloved characters on screen would be such an experience! 😀 It definitely would make for an awesome action movie!

3. What was your favourite book when you were a kid?

I think this might be a tie between „The Little Witch“ and „Fiery Frederica“. I loved both of them when I was a kid. What’s interesting is that both of the MCs were the odd ones out and sort of underdogs. Guess I always pulled for the outsiders, even as a child. *lol*

4. What book do you plan to read next?

43242080

Mhmm… Well it’s Halloween month and I might as well start with a spooky read. I don’t know if that qualifies as spooky but I heard great things about „The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle“ so I really want to get to this one soon. Also can anyone explain to me why it’s sometimes 7 and then 7 1/2 Deaths? *lol* I kinda stumbled over this and I have no idea why they changed the title of some copies to only 7. It’s kinda odd.

5. Who is one of your favourite bloggers or what is one of your favourite blogs?

Only one? ARGH!! I can’t just name one so I’ll name two, okay? Let’s bend the rules a little bit, I mean they are made for it after all, right? ;-P So there are two blogs I’ve been following closely and I must have read every single post of those two bloggers. Can you already guess? It’s Sabrina @ Note from A Paper Plane Nomad and Elli @ AceReader! I just love them and their content and I’ll never get tired of reading their blogs. ❤

6. What is one genre you absolutely hate?

There’s no genre I really hate but there are genres I rarely or as good as never read because I just can’t seem to get into them. I’m no huge fan of biographies, self-help, spiritual or religious books. Which is not to say that I never read them. I mean I read „The Holy Bible“ and some of the „…. for Dummies“ books but I usually read for entertainment and escapism and all those aforementioned genres can’t give me what I need.

7.  If you could help one of your favorite authors write a book, who would you choose to write with?

SUANNE LAQUEUR!!!! I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to write a book with her. I mean it would be like an epic Aled Last and Frances Janvier collaboration. I can imagine us throwing thoughts and ideas at each other and shaping them into an amazing book. Ahh… now I’ll never get that thought out of my head. *lol* Suanne if you’re reading this, ignore my fanboy moment and gushing… except of if you actually DO want to write a book with me. Then I’d love to get started. Send me a mail asap! ;-P (I can always dream, right?)

8. Do you enjoy reading more in the morning or at night?

I used to do both when I was younger but nowadays I only read at night when my kid is sleeping. XD In the morning she’s way too active to even think about it. So for now the answer would be at night because I enjoy the silence! *lol*

9. How do you come up with creative ideas for blog posts?

At the strangest times and in the weirdest situations. I swear! XD That’s why I always carry a journal with me in which I can write my crazy thoughts. It’s something very personal and aside from my bestie (who only was allowed to take a peek at it 3 weeks ago and this for the very first time) no one ever was allowed to take a look into it. I guess that’s because I write a lot of things into it, also poem ideas, writing ideas, etc. Just everything that comes to mind. I always say it’s my brain. *lol*

10. What book did you hate having to read in school?

Haha! There were so many!!! So, so, so many! Where do I even start? *lol* One I definitely didn’t enjoy to read was „A Village Romeo and Juliet“. I just didn’t see the point of this book. I mean we all know „Romeo and Juliet“ why sort of rewrite it again in a village setting? Makes no sense! Especially because all the similarities are still there. There was no unique and new spin.

11. Which is better: Marvel or D.C.? (Please say Marvel!)

I really like Batman and Catwoman but they are the only two D.C. characters I like. So I think I’ll definitely go with Marvel here! They just have the better superheroes and therefore also the better stories! 😉

I Nominate:

My Questions:

  • 1. What was the first book that really got you into reading and why?
  • 2. McDonalds or Burger King? (I’m always interested in that one. *lol*)
  • 3. What is your least favourite book that got only one star or even less? (Of course I’d like to know the „why“ as well. 😉 )
  • 4. Which bookish character is the most like you?
  • 5. Your perfect breakfast?
  • 6. Tell me something totally random about you!
  • 7. If you could help one of your favorite authors write a book, who would you choose to write with? (going to steal that one because I loved it. XD)
  • 8. I know we all have our reasons for starting a blog, but what motivates you to keep on writing?
  • 9. What’s your favourite animal?
  • 10. Do you collect anything aside from books?
  • 11. And because it’s Halloween month: Is there something that truly scares you? (like spiders, or clowns, etc.)

This was such an interesting Award and I loved all of Brianna’s questions! So thank you once again for tagging me! I hope you had a lot of fun reading through my answers and I’m looking forward to read yours! As always you don’t have to do the tag, I’d love to see you doing it though. (No pressure, really. *lol* ;-P)

This meme was created to get to know other bloggers, their new obsessions and to reflect on your own last month! Above all it was created to have fun though! 😉 If you want you can also use the banner I created! This said let’s head to the good part:

S – Series you loved this month

Yuri on Ice!

anime, gif, and love Bild

There will never be a universe in which I won’t love this series to the moon and back! ❤ And I’m so glad I finally have it on DVD and Blu-Ray! I swear Yuri’s and Victor’s relationship is EVERYTHING!!! I mean, how could you possibly not love them and this show?! There’s competition, there’s figure skating, there are amazing friendships, there’s love and trust and hope and fear and ARGH!!! It’s just amazing! If you haven’t watched it yet, do yourself a favour and take a closer look! Yuri and Victor are the best! 😉

A – Author you discovered

This month it would be Nora Sakavic! I wanted to read her „All for the Game“ series for ages and finally managed to get to it. I mean, it only took me three years to pick it up, but we all know I’m a snail! *lol* Still, no matter how late I jumped the hype train: THIS STUFF IS GOOD!!! I didn’t expect to get addicted to it so fast but three things are for certain: 1.) Neil Josten is a precious cinnamon roll and needs to be protected at all costs!!!! 2.) Andrew Minyard is a dangerous and volatile minx and I adore him!! 3.) I’m so going to read those two sequels. XD

S – Song you couldn’t get enough of

Greg Laswell – Dodged A Bullet

There’s something about this song! I just can’t seem to get enough of it. Maybe it’s the melody or the lyrics, but it speaks to me somehow. Don’t ask me, I can’t describe it! All I know is that this soft guitar version is amazing. 🙂

S – Surprise – Something that totally caught you off guard

My bestie and I recently went to a new Japanese restaurant that has an „all you can eat“ buffet! So we decided to try it out because as you all know by now we’re suckers for Japanese food. *lol* Anyway, we ordered our drinks and barely sat there a few minutes when all of a sudden a robot rolled towards us and offered us our drinks. XD As it seems it’s name is Yuki and it hands out the bevarages at the restaurant. This was really funny and I’m sure we’ll go there again. Guess we got a glimpse at the future. 😉
