The Outstanding Blogger Award

Hey there, my lovelies!

I just noticed that I got tagged for this by Elli @ AceReader  in 2020 and I can’t even say how shocked I am about my snaildom. *lol* Like honestly! 2020??!!! I’m so behind on tags and awards it’s not normal anymore. XD Anyway! Thank you so much Elli for nominating me for this Award. I’m sorry I’m only getting to it now but oh well, I gotta defend my title as the snail of all snails, right?! *lol* This said, let’s not waste any more time and head straight to the fun part!

The Rules

  1. Provide the link to the creator’s original award post. (very important: see why in step 5)
  2. Answer the questions provided.
  3. Create 7 unique questions.
  4. Nominate 10 bloggers. Ensure that they are aware of their nomination. Neither the award’s creator, nor the blogger that nominated you, can be nominated.
  5. At the end of 2020, every blog that ping-backs the creator’s original post will be entered to win the 2020 Outstanding Blogger Award!

What book have you re-read the most?

Ha! That’s such an interesting question and I guess my answer for it is even more interesting. *lol* I reread Harry Potter about a gazillion times but I also reread the „Captive Prince“ series at least as much. XD I know those two are very different. But oh well, that’s typical me right there. ;-P Also I constantly reread chapters of „The Raven Cycle“ but I don’t count it as a full reread because I’m not reading the entire book/series. Go figure. Haha!

A popular book you think is overrated?

Mhmm that’s a tough one. I usually tend to like the popular books but if I’d have to choose I’d say „The Maze Runner“ series. I really enjoyed the first book but oh boy, the second and the third one made no sense. I basically spent all of book two and three ranting about how illogical everything is. *lol* It just wasn’t for me. Sorry?!

Translate the title of your favourite book into emojis.

Framed Picture Emoji (U+1F5BC) man | emojidex - custom emoji service and appsHeart emoji" Art Board Print by BlvckBleach | Redbubble (If you’re able to guess that one you’re good. *lol*)

Do you watch booktube? If yes who is your favourite booktuber?

Funny how my answer changed to that one. If I’d have done this tag in 2020 (when I got tagged for it) I wouldn’t have known any BookTubers, but since I started my own channel in 2021 I know way too many now. XD There are so many awesome BookTubers I can’t possibly answer that question. >_< They are all too good!

What’s the best book-ish gift you’ve ever received?

I usually gift myself with bookish things because I always get gift cards and then buy the things/books I want to buy. BUT I got my „The Sassy Library Fox“ sign that’s always in the background of my videos from my bestie and it’s really one of the most amazing bookish gifts I ever received! I love it so much! ❤

If you could travel in time, where would you go?

For some reason I was always fascinated by the 18th century so I probably would go there and satisfy my curiosity? *lol* I dunno why but for me this time period is super interesting. XD There just happened a lot and there were so many interesting kings, etc.

How do you rate books?

I rate them with my paws (or stars on GR) and there are a couple of things that factor into my rating. Of course every book rating is subjective so I have my own personal rating system which is actually written on my blog. Just in case you never saw it:

5 Paws – I loved, loved, loved that book and neither was able to put it down nor wanted it to end. I’ve become a huge fan and will not only reread the book but also search for fanart in the net! XD

4 Paws – I liked the book a lot and enjoyed to page through it. It was an easy and nice read and I’d recommend it any time.

3 Paws – The plot and the characters were good but I might have had some minor issues with the writing or the book didn’t capture me as much as I would have liked it to.

2 Paws – It was okay but there were so many things I didn’t like that I definitely won’t keep it in my collection and also won’t recommend it to anyone.

1 Paw – I hated it and constantly felt an overwhelming urge to either throw it against a wall or to burn it. Thank god it’s over! Good riddance!

It is important for the inspiration towards the success journey of our fellow bloggers and especially newbie’s (Rising Stars)” – IdealInspiration Blog

  • List the rules and display the “Ideal Inspiration Blogger Award” logo
  • Provide the link of the Award creator of the Ideal Inspiration Blogger award as Rising Star from: https://idealinspiration.blog

Questions

  1. What is your favorite part of blogging?
That might sound funny now because I rarely manage to do it these days but I love to create content and to come up with new and original ideas. *lol* Unfortunately I didn’t have a lot of time to do that those last couple of months but for 2022 I decided to make some room for my hobby so I guess we’ll see how that goes. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. ;-P
  2. If you were to take the name of a fictional character, what would it be?
I think I’d either take Ronan (Ronan Lynch from TRC) or I’d go with Kieran (one of my fictional rp characters).
  3. What is your ideal reading setting? Be as descriptive as you can (if you want😂)
My ideal reading setting? You really want to know that? Okay, but I might drool a the end of this so I’m already sorry. *lol* My ideal reading setting would be in my own library in my own house. (I’ve neither of those two so we’re already in dream land) It would be full of books and bookshelves and there would even be a ladder to get to the books that are in the higher shelves. In that library there would be two reading nooks. One next to the window where you can curl up and read and watch the snow fall in winter or just look out at a nice garden in summer. And the other reading nook would be in a cozy corner and kind of surrounded by bookshelves like a cave. (Do you get what I mean? I’m sure my Yoongi does. *lol*) And of course I would have a place to put my coffee next to me. Ahh… I want that so badly it’s not normal anymore. T_T (description: V from BTS trying not to cry)
  4.  If you could do or be anything in the world, what would it be?
Anything? Really anything? Unrealistic answer: I’d be an idol and sing and dance and write lyrics and produce my own music and I’d do all the things I love the most. (I was in a band and dancing group once so I guess I got as close to that dream as was possible for me in a little country like Austria) A little bit more realistic answer: I’d be a professional BookTuber, book blogger and book critic and would be able to live from doing the things I love to do. (yeah I’m aware that I am a BookTuber/book blogger already and writing reviews. *lol* I’m not professional though. XD)
  5. If you could travel to a fictional destination (from a book you’ve read) where would it be? There are actually two that immediately come to mind: 1. Hogwarts, 2. Velaris. 😉

Questions for my nominees

  1. Why did you start your own blog? Tell me your story!
  2. If you could be a fictional character for a day, who would you like to be and why?
  3. Who/What is your favourite bookish animal! (Could be anything from Eragon to Nighteyes)
  4. If you could do or be anything in the world, what would it be? (stealing that one because it’s really interesting. Sorry, Maya. *lol*)
  5. When do you write your blog posts? Are you a night owl or an early bird?

I nominate:

💗 The Yoongi to my V – Sabrina @ Notes From A Paper Plane Nomad

💗 Hollis & Micky @ A Take From Two Cities

💗 Hundreds & Thousands of Books

💗 Ella @ ella isn’t reading

💗 Anna @ StarlightKosmos

💗 Laura @ The Unquiet Librarian

💗 Elli @ AceReader

Rankenzeile

Once again, thank you to Maya for nominating and tagging me for this award! To all the people I nominated: Of course you don’t have to do the award but as always I’d love to hear your answers! XD

The Liebster Award – Part III

Hey there, my lovelies!

It’s been a while I got nominated for this award but I’m finally getting to it now. *lol*  I swear, my snail tempo gets worse and worse. Maybe I’m even slower than a snail by now. Does anyone of you know an animal that’s even slower than a snail?! If yes, that’s what I am. 😂

This said let’s go for „The Liebster Award“! I was nominated by Elli @ AceReader and Anna @ Anna’s Book Nook! And I have absolutely no idea why I deserved to be nominated by two such amazing bloggers! So thank you two so much for nominating me and for thinking me worthy of the award!! ❤ Also if you don’t know Elli and Anna yet, please make sure to check out their blogs and to give them some love! 😉 They deserve it!

The Rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and add a link to their blog
  • Answer the 11 questions given to you
  • Nominate 11 bloggers that you think deserve the award
  • Ask 11 innovative questions to the ones you have nominated
  • Remember to notify your nominees once you have uploaded your acknowledgement post

So without further ado let’s jump right into the questions! 🙂

Anna’s Questions:

1. What is your favorite series that you’ve read this year?

43393863. sy475      26032912. sy475

I read so many great series this year but I guess I’ll just go with „The Folk of the Air“ here because I actually finished the series this year by reading book 2 and 3. And they were awesome! I’ll never get tired of Cardan and Jude! ❤ Those two are too amazing!

2. Which author have you read the most books by?

Haha! Oh Jeez! What a tough question! I think it’s either Cassandra Clare or Sarah J. Maas? I’m pretty sure Cassandra Clare wins with one book more or so though. XD

3. If you could trade places with one character and live their life, who would you choose?

I think I’d want to live Ronan Lynch’s life. He’s just so amazing and can dream things into existence and he has an „I don’t care attitude“ I simply adore. Also Adam Parrish would be my bf. So yep! That’s my answer. ;-P

4. Do you have an auto-buy author? Who?

Guess the answer here would be: Yes, I actually have more than just one! *lol* Cassandra Clare, Leigh Bardugo, Victoria Schwab and Maggie Stiefvater. I loved all of their books and I have yet to come across one I didn’t like.

5. If you could live in a fictional book world, which would you pick?

Either the classic which means I’d want to live in the wizarding world of Harry Potter or the Shadowhunter world. Both of them sound super intriguing and to be a wizard or shadowhunter would be amazing. I’m already a Faerie so I don’t have to wish for that. *LOL*

6. If Santa brought you the top 5 books on your list, what would they be?

52339313. sy475     52554863     38089560. sy475

1215032    54618808. sy475

7. What is your favorite thing about the holiday season?

That I have both of two worlds. On the one hand I can spend time with my family and friends and have a great time with them and on the other hand I can curl up and read a good book while it’s cold outside. XD

8. Do you have a favorite holiday read?

Mhmm… not really. I mean I love to read HP in autumn and winter because it’s just the perfect time to read the series but other than that, nope?

9. Are you a real tree, a fake tree, or no tree person?

I love how I’m doing this tag in September! *lol* Judging by all those Christmassy questions I got nominated before Christmas. XD Anyway: I’m a real tree person, because of my kid. I want her to have a real tree even if it’s just a little one. Once she doesn’t believe in Santa (in Austria it’s actually the Christkind) anymore we’ll probably go for a fake tree or none at all.

10. What is your favorite book quote?

Just one?! Okay, if I only have to name one I’ll go with this one:

“Freely we serve,
Because we freely love,as in our will
To love or not;in this we stand or fall.”

John Milton, Paradise Lost

11. Your top 5 books of 2020?

Well, guess it’s official now. Anna tagged me for „The Liebster Award“ before Christmas. *lol* I’m ashamed I’m only doing this now! XD Give me a second while I think about what I read in 2020. ;-P Here I go:

36285077. sx318     33536168    33413128. sy475

41827561. sy475     17259690

Elli’s Questions:

1. If you had to choose one author to write your life story, who would you choose?

Definitely Suanne Laqueur! Suanne is an amazing writer and she writes her characters so real that you think they are actual people. Yet at the same time all her stories have something magical and are very beautiful! ❤ Yep, Suanne!

2. What’s your go to comfort tv show?

I bet you would have never guessed that one so I’ll just write it here: „Yuri on Ice!“ *lool* I swear I love this anime so much! I even bought it on DVD so I could watch it whenever I feel like it. I just love this show so, so damn much and I must have watched it about a gazillion times already. Yuri and Victor are just everything! ❤  Their relationship is so wholesome and supportive and ahhhh!!! ❤ ❤ ❤

3. Pretties book cover of 2020 in your opinion?

43175555. sy475

Legit one of the most intricate and beautiful book covers I ever saw! =)

4. Do you like watching reality TV?

Well, the answer to that would be „no“! I just can’t with all those reality TV people and the way they act. All the shouting and the constant conflict is giving me skin rash. Haha! I’m a very peace-loving person so reality TV just isn’t for me. XD

5. If you could live in just one bookish universe which one would it be?

I’m having a deja-vu! *lol* Didn’t I just answer a smiliar question above? Well, the same answer then. ;-P

6. What’s your favourite pizza topping?

At the risk of repeating myself, just one?! XD If I have to go with one I’ll say cheese! But I actually like a lot of toppings on my pizza, like spinach, onions, corn, garlic, aubergines, etc. Why are they all vegetarian though? *lol* I just noticed that.

7. Imagine you’re a writer! Which kind of book would you write? (e.g. genre, tropes, characters, etc)

I actually have an idea for a book but I’m still working on finding time to write it. >_< But it would play in the YA and LGBTQ+ genre and it would have the found family trope and definitely music as a trope as well. Plus it would deal with grief and loss. Jeez! I really need to write this book!

8. Is there a genre you want to read more of?

Yeah, I think I need to read more fantasy and sci-fi books. I haven’t read a lot of them lately and I kinda miss readin in those two genres. =)

9. What book trope/genre/random bookish thing do you want to become popular again?

Enemies-to-lovers. I think I haven’t read a decent one of those ever since I read „The Folk of the Air“ series. Why is there never enough of this trope? I mean there obviously are some books that are amazing but a lot of the books that are labeled as „enemies-to-lovers“ aren’t actually „enemies-to-lovers“. Do you get what I mean? Yoongi, you share braincells with me! I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. *lol* Also I really, really would want to see more of friends-to-lovers in books too! It happens so often in real life but is rarely represented in books. =)

10. Have you made reading plans for 2021 yet?

Yes, I once again wrote a TBR for 2021 and so far it’s actually going okay. I mean I won’t be able to read all the 40 books I put on there but I can manage half of them at least. =) I still have 4 months left. ;-P

11. If you read ARCs, has there ever been an ARC you’re super disappointed you didn’t receive a copy of?

Yes, actually there were a lot lately! For instance those three:

50161981. sy475     52735921. sx318 sy475     53205912. sy475

My Nominees

As always you don’t have to do the award if you don’t want to! I just wanted to nominate you for it and show my appreciation for your blogs, amazing content and hard work! =)

My Questions for You:

  1. If you could be any book character which one would you like to be and why?
  2. A new favourite author you discovered in 2021?
  3. Are you a fan of k-dramas (or dramas in general) and if yes which one would you recommend?
  4. Is there an author you literally bought all books from?
  5. Todays TMI? *lol*
  6. What’s your favourite season and why?
  7. Do you prefer to drink tea, coffee or water?
  8. Which kind of tropes do you really dislike in books?
  9. Your top 5 books of 2021 so far?
  10. What is your favourite animal/creature from a book and why?
  11. Do you play an instrument and if yes, which one? =)

This was a lot of fun! A huge thanks to Anna and Elli for not only nominating me but also for coming up with all those amazing questions! I hope you enjoyed my answers and I’m looking forward to read yours! I’m sorry it took me so long to get to this Award but I finally did it! Mystery Blogger Award! =)

Hey there, my lovelies!

It’s an established fact that I’m a snail so here I am finally doing „The Mystery Blogger Award“. *lol* I actually got nominated for it thrice which was such a huge surprise that I’m still not over it. XD The three bloggers who nominated me for this award are Mayu @ Bookshelf Life, Anna @ Anna’s Book Nook and Riddhi @ Whispering Stories. I can’t thank you guys enough for nominating me and thinking me worthy of the honor! ❤ If you don’t know their awesome blogs already you should definitely take a closer look!!! They are amazing!!

This said I decided to answer all their questions in one go because if not it might take me even longer to get to them! And believe me when I say that you don’t want that! *lol* You might grow a beard to your knees, write an entire book, get old and wrinkled or have a kid before I get to it. No kidding. Well, okay, I might be. *lol* Anyway! Let’s do this!

What is the Mystery Blogger Award?

The Mystery Blogger Award is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging; and they do it with so much love and passion.

This award was originally created by Okoto @ Okoto Enigma’s Blog.

The Rules

  • Put the award logo/image on your blog.
  • List the rules.
  • Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Mention the creator (Okoto Enigma) and provide a link as well.
  • Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.
  • Answer the questions provided by whoever nominated you.

Three Facts About Me

Okay, I think I can do that.

  1. I’m mixed-handed. 😉 I don’t know why, it’s always been like that. *shrugs*
  2. I love coffee and Chai Tea Latte. (Oh gods, now I’m craving it even more…)
  3. I like to walk around barefoot and I’m the first one to get rid of my shoes when I see the ocean or green lawn. (Pretty random, I know. *lol*)

My Best Blog Posts

The BTS ‚BE‘ Book Tag – Because I love BTS and this was the first time I did a tag on my BookTube channel! 😀

The LGBTQ+ Rep Book Tag (Original!) – This is the first tag I ever created and of course I made a tag about something that is very important to me! ❤ I’ll definitely do it this June as well. 😉

Mayu’s Questions:

1. Why did you start your blog?

Oh, I see! You bring in the big guns. *lol* Well, there were many reasons but the most important one was that I wanted to have a space in which I could write my super long reviews without any restrictions. Haha! It might sound stupid but the Goodreads word limit was actually the main reasons why I went for my blog. XD That and the fact that I wanted to have my own space in the internet where I could talk about bookish things and publish my poems. 😉

2. What is your favourite book to movie adaptation? And why?

There are a couple of great book to movie adaptions but I think my favourite will always be Harry Potter. As for the reason why? I think they did an amazing job with the character cast and all those special effects and even though they didn’t always hold to the books they still managed to convey the most important plot points. XD Come to think of it the same applies to LOTR too. *lol*

3. What kind of posts do you love writing the most?

I love to write my reviews but I also enjoy doing tags. I guess it might be a tie between those two. They are both fun in their own way! 😀

4. I am a full time student. What about you, what do you do?

I work as an assistant/admin at an NGO and am a full-time parent. 😉 Well, and obviously I blog and have my own YouTube channel as well. I always joke that my blog and channel are my second job. *lol* I just don’t get paid for it. I do it because I love to do it, which in its own way is some sort of reward I suppose.

5. Name a thing that can get your book lover card revoked.

I don’t think there is anything that could get my book lover card revoked. I’m a book lover through and through. ;-P

Anna’s Questions:

1. What is your favorite book from your childhood?

I loved „Fiery Frederica“ by Christine Nöstlinger and „The Little Witch“ by Otfried Preußler. I don’t know how often my Mum or my grandma had to read them to me. *lol*

2. If you could only pick one hobby to entertain yourself with for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Oh, boy!! That’s a tough question! I couldn’t choose for the life of me! I love music and I love books and dancing! Ahhhh!!! I can’t choose. It’s impossible. >_<

3. You are designing your dream home. What is the one thing that you must have in it?

There are actually TWO things I must have in it and that’s a HUGE library (surprise, surprise. *lol* ;-P) and a big kitchen with a kitchen island. XD I’m a real connoisseur so good food and lots of great books are absolutely necessary. Haha!

4. If you could remake one Disney movie, what would it be and why?

I liked all of the Disney movies so I wouldn’t want to remake any of them. I think they are all great in their own way and have a good and important message. If you’d have said musicals I would have had a couple of ideas though.

5. Who is your favorite super hero?

Just one? *lol* Ahhh, Anna you don’t make it easy. XD I love morally grey super heroes so I’m more the fan of Batman and Iron Man. Spiderman is great too, but he definitely belongs to the good boys.

Riddhi’s Questions:

1. What is one Christmas themed book you want to read this year?

Since I’m doing this award really late I have about a year to figure that one out, but I think I might actually read „Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares“ around Christmas this year. I saw the Netflix series last year during Advent season and decided I wanted to read the book too. 😀

2. What is your fatal flaw? (Yes, you can take a quiz to find out)

I took a quiz and it gave me this answer: „You got: Other. you are a special person.“ Hahahahahaha! OMG! What does this even mean? *lol*

3. What is you Hogwarts house?

It’s Gryffindor! But apparently I’m like Harry Potter and have a very pronounced Slytherin side as well. *lol* At least the entire analysis of the Pottermore test showed that it was a neck-and-neck race and Gryffindor won. XD Must be my cruel and cunning faerie ancestry! ;-P

4. Who is your godly parent?

According to the readriordan.com quiz it’s Athena?! Guess that makes Annabeth my sister which is pretty cool. =)

5. Name three authors whose books you read this year for the first time.

Emily Henry („Beach Read“)
Lev. A.C. Rosen („Jack of Hearts“)
Brigid Kemmerer („A Curse so Dark and Lonely“)

I enjoyed all of them as well! *lol* ;-P

Rankenzeile

1. If you could only take three things to a deserted island, what would you take with you?
2. What is your favourite flower?
3. What was your favourite tv show as a kid? (And can you still sing the opening song? *lol*)

5. How many languages do you speak and which ones? =)

Rankenzeile

This was a lot of fun to do! I almost forgot how interesting those awards can be! *lol* I hope you enjoyed my answers and I’m looking forward to read yours! I’m sorry it took me so long to get to this Award but I got to it… eventually. *lol* Thanks again for nominating me and for asking all those amazing questions! =)

And as always: Take care! And stay healthy and safe!

Real Neat Blog Award

Hey there, my lovelies!

A while back I was nominated for the „Real Net Blog Award“ by Brianna @ Brianna’s Books And Randomness and I thought it was about time to say THANK YOU and to actually do this! *lol* I’m always a few months behind with things like that but I promise I’ll do better in future. Or well, you know, at least I’ll try?! ;-P „A fault confessed is half redressed.“ or so they say! XD

Rules:

  • Display the award logo.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  • Answer the questions from the blog who nominated you.
  • Nominate seven to ten bloggers.
  • Ask them seven questions.

Who is your favorite Harry Potter character?

Oh wow, that’s a tough one! *lol* So many of those characters are awesome and I really love them all. If I’d have to decide I’d go with either Harry Potter himself or Lupin though. I always loved Harry and his defiance and even though he thinks he’s not cool or has no control over things he still tries to do the best he can. Also Lupin is amazing! He’s legit the best DADA teacher they ever had and I love his compassion and calmness. ❤

Do you play any instruments? If yes, which one(s)?

All right, you got me! ;-P Yes, I DO play instruments (plural), but it’s been ages I played them with others. XD Also I haven’t practiced properly for a while. (Having a kid that’s like a little tornado will do that to you. *lol*) Anyway, this said I play e-bass, a little bit guitar and the piano. I think I suck at the latter two but I’m pretty sure I play a decent and mean e-bass. Haha! (At least I think I do.)

If you could reread any series or book for the first time again, which would you choose?

Definitely „The Raven Cycle“!!! I loved this series so damn much and just to feel that magic all over again, to see how those friendships form, this deep connection to Cabeswater and between all those lovely characters! ❤ Don’t even get me started on Adam Parrish or Ronan Lynch! I would love to read this series for the first time again! =)

What do you like to do on rainy days, (besides read)?

I think the next best thing to reading would be to watch Netflix, make music, listen to music or to draw?! Oh, boy, even an imaginary relaxed day sounds kinda busy with me, doesn’t it? *lol* But honestly, I have so many hobbies and just to be able to indulge them would be enough. As it is my rainy days are spent with taking care of my kid so none of the above is actually happening. XD Guess it will get better once my child is older. 😉

What is your favorite band?

This is a dangerous question to ask because I don’t have only one. ;-P There are so many great bands out there, there’s no way it could only be one. If I’d have to name just three I’d say the following though: One Republic, Imagine Dragons and Thirty Seconds To Mars

Would you prefer a cold day with lots of snow or a warm day perfect for the beach?

Always a warm day perfect for the beach!!! I might be born in winter but I really don’t like the cold! *lol* I love warm summer days and I’m definitely a summer kind of person!

Share a picture of your bookshelf!

This is just the part I rearranged a while back, but I hope that one day I’ll manage to get a decent picture of my entire shelf.

I nominate the following people for this award:

My questions are:

  • How do you drink your coffee/tea?
  • What is your personal kryptonite trope in books? (e.g. broken boys, enemies-to-lovers, found-family, etc…)
  • If you could time travel for just one day: Which year would you pick and why?
  • What kind of job would be your dream job and why?
  • Are you rather an extrovert or an introvert?
  • You’re at the beach and only have a couple of minutes left before you have to be somewhere else. What do you do? (read, bask in the sun, sink your feet into the sand, etc.)
  • What’s your favourite season and why?

3 things about me

I read tarot cards. You might say it’s some sort of family heritage, but what can I say? We all got our hobbies. The Winchester brothers hunt demons, vampires and ghosts and in my family we read tarot cards, see ghosts and are emphatic. Pretty much just your ordinary psychic family. *lol* 😛 (I guess that explains why I love The Raven Cycle so much! ❤ )

I had two wisdom teeth and they only got removed recently. Which was horrible because I couldn’t eat properly for almost 4 weeks. >_< I’m really glad they are gone now even though there are days I actually have some sort of phantom pain. Weird, I know!

I used to play in two bands.  with the first one I even released an album. We were already playing some of the bigger stages of Austria when the band split. 😦 It was a lot of fun though and I wouldn’t want to miss this experience for the world. And just in case you wondered: I played e-bass. 😛

Questions:

What’s a great book you think is underrated?

24763621

I just took a long look at my shelves and I think I’d say „Wintersong“ fits the bill. Not many people read it and even less of them write about it, but I loved this book so much! Sure there were a few minor issues (word repetitions, etc.) but the atmosphere, the tension and the MCs love for music?! Perfect! Oh, and let’s not forget about the myths! ❤

What’s the favourite thing you own?

Aside from my books and e-reader? *lol* Mhmm… that’s a tough one. My mobile phone is very important right now because it helps me to stay in contact with my family and friends but we’re talking about my favourite thing and not necessities… My necklace with my dog tag. My bestie has the same one and they are both engraved. It makes me feel closer to her whenever I wear it (which is basically every day) and it gives me strength. 🙂 Okay, that was quite personal now…

What’s the weirdest, most random fact you know?

Haha! Oh boy, you found the correct address! There are plenty of random facts I know and I’m an everlasting source of useless knowledge! 😛 Well, let’s go with this one because it’s pretty current: To wash your hands reduces the doubt after tough decisions. *lol* You might say it’s kind of soothing to wash your hands. 😉

Your most anticipated movie/tv shows coming out this year?

When it comes to series it’s definitely „Altered Carbon“ and „Riverdale“! I loved those two shows and it’s about time to continue to watch them. Plus, like every book adaption that’s supposed to come out soon! XD I’m still waiting for all those great series to get on Netflix!

Do you have a guilty pleasure read?

I wouldn’t call it a guilty pleasure read because everyone knows how much I love this series, but I guess because so many people don’t like it, it might be one of some sorts? I just love C.S. Pacat’s „Captive Prince“ series and I’m not sorry for it! ❤ *lol*

Link to my best post:

I think that’s up to my followers because quite honestly I have absolutely no idea! XD

My Questions:

  • What’s your favourite dish?
  • A book that’s so good you would actually throw it at people. They need to read it NOW!!!! (I know I’m being dramatic here, but I’m sure you get what I mean. 😛 )
  • Your favourite song that gives you summer vibes?
  • What’s your favourite quote?
  • Your most anticipated book coming out this year?! (I’m so not trying to find my next favourite book. 😛 )

This was a lot of fun! I hope you’ll enjoy to do this as well and once again a huge thank you to Elli for tagging me! =) And as always: If you don’t want to do this it’s okay too! 😉

Sunshine Blogger Award

img_6583-1

Hey there, my lovelies! ❤

I finally managed to get to this tag and I want to thank the lovely Surina for tagging me for the Sunshine Blogger Award! She’s an amazing blogger and I love to visit her page! ❤ If you’re not already following her blog you should definitely take a look and make sure to check it out! I can guarantee you it will be worth your precious time! 😉

The Rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to their blogging site.
  2. Answer the questions.
  3. Nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 new questions.
  4. Notify the nominees about it by commenting on one of their blog posts.
  5. List the rules and display the sunshine blogger award logo on your site or on your post.

 The Questions and My Answers:

Question #1: What is your all-time favorite book?

5297

Aww Surina, that question just isn’t fair. *lol* I have so many faves it’s not even normal anymore but if I had to decide for a stand-alone I’d always choose “The Picture of Dorian Gray”. I’m currently re-reading it again and I love this book so damn much! <333 It’s definitely one of those books I’ll never get tired of.

Question #2: What is your most anticipated book of this year?

A few months ago I probably would have gone with a Cassie Clare or Tahereh Mafi book but right now it’s definitely “Red, White & Royal Blue” from Casey McQuiston. I want to read this book so badly I feel an ache in my chest whenever I see a review about it. Everyone is praising it and I. JUST. WANT. TO. READ. IT! >_< May 14th… May 14th… I can do it! *takes a deep breath*

Question #3: What books have made you cry?

Wrong question. The right one would have been “What books didn’t make you cry?” *lol* Seriously, I seem to have a weakness for books that make me cry and I just can’t stop to read them. There were so many books that made me cry… “Clockwork Princess”, “Lord of Shadows”, “Kingdom of Ash”, “A Court of Mist and Fury”, “The Heart’s Invisible Furies”, basically the entire “Farseer Trilogy”… gosh the list could go on and on. XD

Question #4: What book do you feel needs more love?

29396

I always have the same answer here and I’ll never get tired of recommending this series: “The Codex Alera” from Jim Butcher! I loved the characters and the world they live in! I borrowed book one from the library because the blurb sounded interesting and within less than a month I was through all 6 books of the series. I guess this says enough. ;-P

Question #5: Can you tell that I’m shamelessly trying to find more books to add to my TBR? 😉 I’ll stop, promise.

Yes, I can and I really hope you’ll read “The Codex Alera” series now! *lol*

Question #6: What are some of your favorite quotes?

Oh jeez! I’m such a sucker for quotes I just can’t decide for only one. I live and breathe that one though:

“Freely we serve,
Because we freely love, as in our will
To love or not; in this we stand or fall.” – John Milton, Paradise Lost

And don’t even get me started on other quotes because you’ll regret it. XD Alone Maggie Stiefvater’s “The Raven Cycle” is so quotable I could probably write an entire essay! *lol*

Question #7: What else, besides reading, do you like to do in your free time?

Phew! I have so many hobbies but barely any time to pursue them. (To have a kid will do that to you. ;-P) But once I have time I’m writing, drawing, dancing, blogging, roleplaying, reading, cooking, listening to music or I actually even make music (it’s been quite a while though). Or and that happens almost every time except when she’s sleeping, I play with my daughter and go for a walk with her. XD

Question #8: What is your earliest book-related memory?

I remember my nanna reading us bedtime stories when I was a little kid and my parents were out for dinner. I was always looking forward to my parents going out because I knew she would read to us for hours! <333

Question #9: What is the most mind-numbing thing you have ever done?

Now that’s a funny question. I think it was working as a clerk at a bus company. Every day I got there I knew exactly what my 8 hour shift would entail and it was so mind-numbing my brain cells are already dying just thinking about it. I’m sure there are a lot of people who’d love a job like that but I’m just too creative to spend my days with repetitive work. >_<

Question #10: What is the most positive thing you can think of?

It’s not a “thing” per se but I think it would be my family and my friends! =) <333

Question #11: Have you had a good day so far?

Yes!! It’s early morning here and it’s almost 7:15 a.m and my kid is still sleeping because it are holidays! *lol* So that gave me plenty of time to answer your questions which makes me really happy! XD Oh wait, I think she’s waking up now. *lol*

Blogger Recognition Award

I was nominated by Hamad @ The book prescription and I really don’t know how I deserved to be nominated for two different Awards in a week. Thank you so much for nominating me, Hamad! You’re awesomesauce!! ❤ For everyone who reads this: If you haven’t checked out his blog yet, you’re missing out and should remedy this immediately. ;-P

Rules:

  • Thank the blogger that nominated you.
  • Write a post to show your award.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  • Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
  • Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.

My Origin Story:

Haha! You know by now I told my story so often that I think it is going to be one of those “urban legends” that one day will be whispered among other bloggers. *lol* No, I’m just kidding. Seriously, there is nothing special about my story, it’s as ordinary as they come. I always loved reading and enjoyed to talk about books but it wasn’t until I joined goodreads about 1 ½ years ago that I actually started to write about my reading experiences. At first it were pretty short reviews and I had no idea what I was doing but with time they got longer and more elaborate and well, one day one of them (“Six of Crows”) was so detailed that it blew up the word limit on goodreads. This time I’m not kidding. I really couldn’t post it until I shortened it. *lol* So I figured to have my own blog would be a good idea, it took me quite a while until I dared to take that step, though. I wasn’t sure if people would really like to read what I write but the support I got from my readers (can I call them like that?!) was so immense and incredible that I’m still amazed! ❤ Without their encouragement and enthusiasm I probably would have never started my own blog! So thanks to everyone who is reading this now! =))

My Advice:

1.) Be patient with yourself

No blog was ever built or implemented in one day. It takes time to find your own style and to create your vision. We all start with the tools we are given but it is up to us how we use them and what we do with them in the end. If something doesn’t work out the way you want it to you still have plenty of time to change it. Don’t rush things, take your time, do what YOU want to do and give yourself the space to do it right. Your followers will appreciate it! 😉

2.) Be creative and open to your own ideas

If there is one thing I learned ever since I began to blog, then it is the fact that there are no bad or crazy ideas. When I started my blog I had the idea of a library fox and the more I thought about it the more creative I became. By now I have my own fox mascot and my rating system is in paws and not in stars. I believe that this is one of the things that make my blog unique and sets it apart from others. There are many other bloggers who have their own theme and their own style and it’s really refreshing to see all the diversity. Every blog is different, every blogger is different and it’s amazing to see what people can do if they are given some space to put their thoughts and ideas into action. Everybody can be creative; you just have to find a way to let your creativity flow! ❤
