I kind of snatched this tag from Sahi @ My World of Books. *lol* She didn’t tag anyone so I decided that I feel tagged. ;-P Thank you for posting this tag, it was a really nice one and I’m sure every book addict enjoys to answer it.
What is the longest amount of time you can comfortably go without picking up a book?
Not even a day? *lol* Seriously, I read every single day and if it’s just a few pages on my way to work. For me to read is a way to relax and to escape the world for a little bit so the only time I’m not reading is when I’m too ill to even lift a book. >_<
How many books do you carry on your person (or kindle) at any one time?
That hugely depends on where I’m going. If I’m on my way to work I have all the books on my kindle (which would be about 50 or so right now?!) and if I’m going to the library I’ve about 5 – 8 physical copies with me including the ones on my kindle of course! *lol* I never leave the house without my kindle. XD
Do you keep every book you buy/receive or are you happy to pass them on to make space for more?
I don’t have all too much room in my flat so the only books I keep are the ones I loved and want to reread again. The others usually end up at charity flea markets or go to the local library as a donation. I might never read those books again but that doesn’t mean that other people can’t enjoy them as well! =)
How long would you spend in a bookshop on a standard visit?
That largely depends on my company. *lol* If I’m with my kid or hubby it are just a few minutes if I’m alone it can be an hour or more. ;-P
How much time per day do you actually spend reading?
Mhmm I’d say about 1 – 3 hours? I can only read when my little one is in bed and sleeping so my reading time is always rather limited. Yes, children can keep you busy. *lol*
Where does the task ‘picking up a book’ appear on your daily to-do list?
I don’t really have a daily to-do list because every day is different if you have to care for a little life so yeah, if I had one it might at least be under the top 8. XD I guess once I’m a pensioner it will be in my top 3. 😉
How many books do you reckon you own in total (including e-books)?
Jeez! That’s a tough one but I’d say about 250? I’m a huge fan of fantasy and YA series so there are a lot of series with 3 to 7 books. *lol*
Approximately how often do you bring up books in conversation?
It always depends on my company. I have a really close friend who always accompanies me when I go to the library. We talk about books a lot and she’s interested in my blog and supports me so much that I can’t help but gush about all my reading experiences. ❤ So with her I ALWAYS end up talking about books. *lol* (If you read this, THANK YOU so much for discussing books with me! You are amazing!!! <333) If said company is my family I barely make any mention of books though. My relatives don’t read all too much and if they do they only remain in one genre (romances or thrillers) so I’ve kind of given up to talk with them about books. About 90% of them don’t even know about my goodreads page, let alone my blog.
What is the biggest book (page count) you have finished reading?
Mhmm I remember reading a book with more than 1000 pages but I can’t recall the name. When I’m asked about the biggest book I usually mention Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series but I’m sure I read books that had more pages than those, I just can’t remember which ones it were. XD
Is there a book you had to get your hands on against all odds (i.e. searching bookshops, online digging, etc)?
Oh yes, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”! We were on Interrail through Europe and at the time the book was released we were staying in Venice. *lol* I swear my bestie and I tried to find this book in every bookshop in Venice but damn all the copies were sold out. In the end we were so desperate that we called our parents and asked them to get us a copy at home! XD Plus a mean coincidence: When we were on our way back home there was a guy in our cabin who actually read THAT BOOK!!!! My bestie and I could only gape at the cover!!! It felt like starving in front of a full plate. *lol*
A book you struggled to finish but refused to DNF?
This rarely happens; I mean that I struggle with a book. I never dnf. The last book that had me considering to start with the habit of dnf-ing was “Carter Reed” by Tijan though. XD
What are 3 of your main book goals for 2019?
- Reread some of my favourites
- Make time for reading even if my life will be stressy as hell.
- Continue to work on my blog and goodreads page!!! My little one starts with kindergarten and I’m going back to work so our lives will change once again. I just hope I’ll find time to read and to write reviews. >_<
Have you ever had the privilege of converting someone into a reader (maybe via inspiration or incessant nagging)?
Haha! Nope! I tried to convert my hubby for years but he’s resistant. *lol* Maybe I should make that a life goal: Convert at least one person into a reader. ;-P
Describe what books mean to you in five words.
Escapism. Regeneration. Happiness. Knowledge. Hope.
Just like Sahi I’m not tagging anyone but if you want to feel tagged (just like I did) consider yourself tagged now! ;-P
