Top Ten Tuesday: Books on My Spring 2023 To-Read List

TTT was created by The Broke and Bookish and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl (click here for upcoming TTT topics!).

Today’s Topic is: : Books on My Spring 2023 To-Read List (Let’s just put every book I’m currently reading on it and take it from there *lol*)

1.) „Delilah Green Doesn’t Care“ by Ashley Herring Blake

A big city girl returning to her hometown in order to photograph her sisters wedding. Make it f/f and I’m so here for the ride. *lol* I only just started with this book but it really sounds great and a lot of people seem to have enjoyed it. Also it’s one of the few f/f books I heard about and since I want to read more of them I just had to pick this one up. Very curious how Delilah and Claire will find to each other. And even more curious to find out if the rep will be good. =)

2.) „Flash Fire“ by T.J. Klune

I absolutely loved the first book „The Extraordinaries“ and I’m so pumped for book two. I can’t wait to see what Nicky will be up to in „Flash Fire“. I missed him and his antics and I’m sure book two will be as funny as the first one. I swear, I laughed tears when I read book one and I’m so ready to see even more of those superheroes. Plus the ending of the first book!!! I need to know what happens next!!

3.) „Call Down the Hawk“ by Maggie Stiefvater

I’ve started this book so many months ago but still haven’t finished it. Not because I don’t want to but because Maggie’s writing style is so beautiful I just want to savour it. Maggie’s prose makes me want to relish every sentence and this is a real problem because it’s partly responsible for me barely making progress. Haha! I blame it all on Maggie! But I really want to read and finish „Call Down the Hawk“ this spring so I’ll pick it up more often and stop procrastinating. I mean it’s Ronan and Adam, my two precious boys! ❤

4.) „Winter“ by Marissa Meyer

Another book I’ve had on my „currently reading“ for a while and I really want to read it. It’s the last book of „The Lunar Chronicles“ and I’ve been procrastinating way too much. *lol* All of my favourite characters will be together in this one and I just don’t want this series to end. This spring it’s time to finish the series, though. I’m ready to read the last book, even if it will make me sad. Cinder and the others need to get their happy ending! XD

5.) „Queen of Air and Darkness“ by Cassandra Clare

Ha! Another last book in a series! Do you see a trend here? Because I sure as hell do! *lol* Why am I like that and never want to finish series? >_< I love all those characters! At this point the Blackthorns are basically my adopted family! And Marc and Kieran and Christina!?! ARGH! I love them so much! Kit and Ty! Julian and Emma! Why didn’t I pick this up yet?! I will finish this series this spring because I need to KNOW! But the pain. Ahhh… I’m still not ready for the pain. T_T

6.) „Bloodmarked“ by Tracy Deonn

I loved „Legendborn“ when I read it last year and absolutely fell in love with this world and Selwyn Kane! ❤ Seriously, Sel is amazing! So I was more than just a little happy when I found this book in my library! I have about a month to read it and I’m so going to do just that. I think I’ll have to write my review about „Legendborn“ first though. Kinda makes sense before I go for the next one, right? =)

7.) „Piranesi“ by Susanna Clarke

For a while everyone on BookTube was raving about this book and after reading the blurb I’m very intrigued. I have no idea what will await me when I read this story, but it sounds like something I might enjoy. The house and setting in which „Piranesi“ plays kinda gives me „The Starless Sea“ vibes an I loved this book so much. So I hope I’ll enjoy this one as well. *fingers crossed*

8.) „Winter’s Orbit“ by Everina Maxwell

I’ve been dying to read „Winter’s Orbit“ ever since I read about it for the first time! I even requested an ARC on NetGalley about two years ago, but unfortunately ended up being declined. So I decided I’d read this book whenever I could get my greedy hands on it. Well, I got it now and I’m so going to read the hell out of it because this isn’t just m/m but also plays in space and there are many court intrigues as well. I already love the premise of this story so let’s hope I’ll enjoy it too. XD

9.) „Loveless“ by Alice Oseman

This is one of the few Alice Oseman books I haven’t read yet and since it’s supposed to have an ace rep I’m totally ready to dive into it. Aro/ace reps are still so rare and I love Alice for always giving us exactly the kind of LGBTQIA+ content we want and need to see in our books! Totally ready to read „Loveless“ and to enjoy another one of Alice Oseman’s amazing books. =)

10.) „She Gets the Girl“ by Rachael Lippincott & Alyson Derrick

And here I go with another f/f book! I have no idea what „She Gets The Girl“ is about but literally everybody in the LGBTQIA+ community who read it was raving about it. The only thing I know is that two girls who want to get the attention of their crushes make a deal to help each other out.  Sounds a lot like „10 Things I Hate About You“ and I love this movie so much! Also the cover is gorgeous and immediately captured my interest. I borrowed this one from my library as well so I better get to it soon before I have to return it again.

So what about you? Which books are you going to read in spring? Do we have some in common? Am I the only one who has troubles to finish series or do you have the same problem? Are you procrastinating too much as well? Which kind of genre do you want to read more in?

Talk to me and let me know!

And as always take care and stay healthy and safe! ❤

  1. Loveless is so good, I hope you love it. Funny enough the final Ronan book, Greywaren, and She Get’s the Girl are both books I’m hoping to read sooner rather than later haha. fingers crossed we both get to them and love them!

    1. I’m so ready to read „Loveless“! I’ve loved all of Alice’s other books so I’m pretty sure this will be great too. Haha! I need to finish „Call Down the Hawk“ first and then I can get to the other two. I’m horrible. >_< Fingers crossed we'll both enjoy "She Get's the Girl"! ❤
