My Book List 2019

Hey there my lovelies! =)

In my „Bookish New Year’s resolutions for 2019“ blog post I mentioned that I would try to read 40 books this year and that there were only 35 on my list so far. I asked you for recommendations to fill in those last five blank spots and boy did I get many awesome suggestions! XD

In fact it were so many that I made a bowl with all of them and blindly pulled out five of them! *lol* Thank you so much for participating! I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into your answers and I hope you’ll find your recommendation in the following list! ❤

I’m really looking forward to read all those books and I hope that by the end of the year I will have ticked them off my list. XD I’m pretty sure this list won’t keep me from reading other books though and I still have a few ARCs that aren’t even on it. So yeah, I guess it will be more than 40 books by the end of 2019. I suppose if necessary, I’ll just edit my “Reading Challenge” on goodreads. ;P

What about you? Did you already read some of the books on my list or are you planning to read them in near future? How many books do you want to read in 2019? Are you looking forward to some of those new releases too? Let me know! 😀

P.S: I recently borrowed “Illuminae” from the library and I’m definitely going to read it too! XD

  1. I’d like to read 5, 16, 22, and 30 this year too! I set my goal at 50 again and will change it based on how the first half of the year goes! (I’m not against lowering it because there’s no need to stress myself.)
I’ve read and enjoyed 9, 11, 19, and Illuminae. Looks like your 2019 is going to be full of great books!!

    1. I have 5 and 16 already as a physical copy at home and finally decided to read them! *lol* Maybe we could do a buddy read one day? That is if you do buddy reads. xD I first thought about making it 52, like one for every week but I didn’t want to stress myself either so I decided for 40 in the end.
I can’t wait to read them all! I’ve been dying to read so many of them but never got to it last year so I’m doing it now. 😀

      1. Same here! (And for Nevernight, I might end up wanting to read Godsgrave right after so I put it off since Darkdawn will be out this fall!) I haven’t done a buddy read before but I’m open to it for either one! May I dm you on goodreads?

      2. I have Godsgrave at home too. I know I’m horrible. *lol* >_<
And I didn't know the last one is coming out this fall so that's awesome news for me. If I manage to read them both I can continue with Darkdawn. XD And yes, of course you can message me on goodreads! 😀 Don't worry, I was a buddy read virgin too before I did my first one with a friend on goodreads about a year ago. 😉

      1. the book format for Illuminae was a bit strange at first but tbh I loved how different it was. Might be re-read it again. If you want we could do a buddy read some time 🙂

      2. I guess since I read „Shatter Me“ I’m open for every kind of book format. XD And a buddy read sounds good, I don’t know if it will be with Illuminae though, because I borrowed it from the library and if I’m out of luck someone will order it before I can extend it. I’d hate to stop in the middle of a buddy read. If you want to buddy read another book I’m all in though! =)

      3. Cool! Well, I have Children of Blood & Bone on my tbr so that could be an option 🙂 I know on your list it says you’re going to do a re-read of philopher’s stone,I’m on book 3 atm and if you ever planning on doing re-read of books 4,5,6 or 7 I’d love that too!
Or if you have any books you’d wanna do a buddy read for… 😀

      4. No he’s MY BABY! 😡 jk…we can share, I guess.

In all seriousness though, I NEED THAT BOOK RIGHT NOW. AHHHH. And the format for Illuminae is weird – it kind of intimidated me at first – but then I read it and really liked it. 🙂

      5. Haha! Yes, please! Let’s share Nikolai! He’s a ladies man anyway so he should be fine! *lol* Me too! Especially because I want to know how he’s doing after „Ruin and Rising“. I’m sure I’ll get used to the format of Illuminae. 😉

  2. OMG Falling Kingdoms is on your list!!! I’d love to hear your thoughts on the series. In my opinion book 3 and 4. are the best out of the whole series. Children Of Blood & Bone is also on my list for this year and Illuminae is such a badass book. Ezra’s humour is just golden ❤

    1. I’d love to go for a buddy read with you, but if possible with another book than Illuminae. If I run out of luck I’ll have to return it to the library soon and it would be sad to stop the buddy read right in the middle of it. I never know when someone else will preorder the book and my library is ruthless with deadlines. Once someone orders the book you can’t extend it anymore. 😦 Maybe we could go for another book? 😀 I’m open for every suggestion. XD

      1. Oh yes library deadlines are my foe (it’s actually my own fault because I borrow more books than I can read).

Maybe we can try either The Gilded Wolves or Girls of Paper and Fire? I’m so excited to read them 🙂 I don’t have a copy of either yet though…I’ll need to wait till my library acquires them.

      2. Haha! Don’t I know about that! I’m trying to get a grip on this greediness of mine though. *lol*

That sounds awesome! I can’t wait to read them, especially because they both have LGBTQ characters. XD Let me know when your library has them, I’ll buy both of them for my kindle anyway. 😉 Which one we read is up to you! 😀
