Blogger Recognition Award

I was nominated by Hamad @ The book prescription and I really don’t know how I deserved to be nominated for two different Awards in a week. Thank you so much for nominating me, Hamad! You’re awesomesauce!! ❤ For everyone who reads this: If you haven’t checked out his blog yet, you’re missing out and should remedy this immediately. ;-P

Rules:

  • Thank the blogger that nominated you.
  • Write a post to show your award.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  • Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
  • Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.

My Origin Story:

Haha! You know by now I told my story so often that I think it is going to be one of those “urban legends” that one day will be whispered among other bloggers. *lol* No, I’m just kidding. Seriously, there is nothing special about my story, it’s as ordinary as they come. I always loved reading and enjoyed to talk about books but it wasn’t until I joined goodreads about 1 ½ years ago that I actually started to write about my reading experiences. At first it were pretty short reviews and I had no idea what I was doing but with time they got longer and more elaborate and well, one day one of them (“Six of Crows”) was so detailed that it blew up the word limit on goodreads. This time I’m not kidding. I really couldn’t post it until I shortened it. *lol* So I figured to have my own blog would be a good idea, it took me quite a while until I dared to take that step, though. I wasn’t sure if people would really like to read what I write but the support I got from my readers (can I call them like that?!) was so immense and incredible that I’m still amazed! ❤ Without their encouragement and enthusiasm I probably would have never started my own blog! So thanks to everyone who is reading this now! =))

My Advice:

1.) Be patient with yourself

No blog was ever built or implemented in one day. It takes time to find your own style and to create your vision. We all start with the tools we are given but it is up to us how we use them and what we do with them in the end. If something doesn’t work out the way you want it to you still have plenty of time to change it. Don’t rush things, take your time, do what YOU want to do and give yourself the space to do it right. Your followers will appreciate it! 😉

2.) Be creative and open to your own ideas

If there is one thing I learned ever since I began to blog, then it is the fact that there are no bad or crazy ideas. When I started my blog I had the idea of a library fox and the more I thought about it the more creative I became. By now I have my own fox mascot and my rating system is in paws and not in stars. I believe that this is one of the things that make my blog unique and sets it apart from others. There are many other bloggers who have their own theme and their own style and it’s really refreshing to see all the diversity. Every blog is different, every blogger is different and it’s amazing to see what people can do if they are given some space to put their thoughts and ideas into action. Everybody can be creative; you just have to find a way to let your creativity flow! ❤

  1. Oh my Gosh, this is so insanely sweet of you THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Also, your review for SoC was that long?! I love that book so much but I can’t even write that much about it!! (But that might just be my inherent laziness speaking.)

Haha! I'm glad I could give good advice. I really thought long and hard about it but in the end those two things were what came to mind. Who knows, maybe it will help other bloggers to start their blog? XD

And aww it's so nice to hear that you like my little library fox! ❤ To draw both, the fox and the paws took quite a while, I'm quite happy with the final result though. 😀
